Perfect location! You can walk to grocery store, restaurants, etc. The beach area and equipment for the resort are great!
Greta value, best location on gracertain Bay Beach. The service left something to be desired but again, for the price, can't complain. The ceiling fans didn't work and they didn't come to fix it. The washing machine didn't work and they didn't fix it . Instead they gave us a key to the upstairs unit to washave our clothes. Perfect beach and pool.
The condos were well equipped and clean. Centrally located to everything, The only issue was the restaurant was just taken over and has some growing pains. Menu is not beach kinda food. Ocean east had better environment with great menu and music. The free shuttle was handy.
Hotel was always clean. Friendly staff. Located near shopping. Easy access to beach large pool
this was a very nice condo close to supermarket and restaurants also shopping and dive center of course beach was nice as well the only thing that never seemed to get resolve was the TV/internet i was there 7 days and it worked 2 maybe 3 days ...this place is great for couples or singles just beware that there maybe some connectivity issues other than that the staff was friendly and helpful the grounds were well kept very relaxing
Stayed for one week in November. Quiet, very tropical feel. Several buildings, only 3 floors each. Our room was on third floor with nice view of pool area and the ocean just beyond. We had a junior suite with full kitchen, 2 sliding doors that opened to a large screened in porch. Very clean, all the staff were very helpful and friendly. Food at restaurant (Seaside Cafe) was very good. My only complaint is we had to leave.
Spacious suite, clean and luxurious. The large balconies were completely screened in and contained comfortable furniture so they could actually be used as a room. The beach was superb. We could swim / walk to the sister resort and get / drop off towels. This was a fun activity and invigorating swim! Also they had free bikes for the guests use. The only downside is the restaurants are very expensive and limited. There are no local buses or markets on the island.
We were first given a ground floor room. I had specifically requested a room on the highest floor possible (which would be the 3rd floor). We were given a room on the second floor. The room was fone, although we could not see the ocean or beach.
OCW was really everything my boyfriend and I needed through out our 8 night stay- ammenties, wifi, prime location. The resort is definitely outdated in comparison to it's neighbors and one minor issue we had our room phones did not work, and when mentioned to the conceirge they did not attempt to address- therefor I requested they call and book all my reservations which they gladly did. Overall I had a great experience at OCW, provided us with everything we need, the staff was friendly/helpful, and the location was great- we literally walked everywhere we went except one evening to the Thursday night fish fry and airport.
The best place on earth.Hotel was great with great location.Seaside cafe has great food.Staff was pretty good. Will came back soon
Wasn't expecting such a great room. Very roomy and comfortable extremely clean with everything you needed to cook any meal in room. Bed was super comfortable and the sheets were very very soft. Walk in shower area was great with overhead rain nozzle + regular nozzle very nice. Front balcony and huge rear balcony totally screened in so no bugs. :) Staff friendly and very nice. Hotel very close to local shopping and grocery store. Pool area extremely nice and sea side café was excellent. I would go back tomorrow if I didn't have to use American Airlines they suck. T. Burton
We had a great stay at Ocean Club West. The 1 BR suite was very spacious and made it easy to travel with our 17-month old. The hotel is in a great location and easy walking distance to several small shopping areas (Salt Mills, Regent Plaza) and the grocery store. The restaurant is also pretty good. Beautiful and safe beach area. Would not hesitate to come back.
First things first, this isn't the Ritz, and its not Beaches. That said, you get a comfortable clean room at a very relaxing resort with a very friendly staff. We enjoyed all of our meals and the staff was very accomodating. Plus they didn't care if we had after hours on the beach with music and our own booze. A great experience all around.
I would go back in a hearbeat. Great Location, small but very nice grounds with a great pool system, which we did not use because the ocean and beach are just the most fantastic place to be. The major flaw this place has is NO Concierge and 90% of front desk does not have any answers for you. Took me 3 days to find out where to get snorkel gear - unbelievable - (bring your own snorkel gear) We had a studio - was clean, plenty of nice fluffy white towels and sheets - bed was good. Really big deck to sit on BUT most of the units do not have an ocean view. We had a view of the road and it was noisy.
I had originally rented a studio bedroom style room. It was way too tiny for two people and my view was of another building. I upgraded to a junior suite, which was available the next day. Absolutely beautiful and more than twice the size with an ocean view. Worth the money to upgrade. Because it was low season, not everything was open. But the location was perfect. Walking distance to most restaurants that I wanted to go to. And the grocery store. Also very close to the shops, although I didn't go shopping. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Actually, I was at the front desk almost every day and the staff was very accommodating!! The hotel is centrally located on grace bay. So you can walk either direction on the beach and go to the other resorts for drinks or food, just to explore. The food at Seaside was good. I got the conch salad twice... If you don't like spice, tell them to not put it on, because it's a hot dish!!
This was our 5th trip to Turks and 3rd stay at OCW. The stretch of beach from of the resort is wide and water is shallow. The location is ideal, near top restaurants, bars and a a large super market. We've stayed at other luxurious resorts so OCW doesn't quite compare in terms of amenities (no canoes, paddle boarding, etc) and modern interior but the food at Seaside cafe is consistently great, especially the Fish and Chips, THE BEST on the island, juicy grouper inside, perfect brown crispiness on the outside. The pool is also a standout, it's spacious and wraps around, not boring rectangle. Family and group friendly. They could use new pillows, maybe invest in down/feather; my neck was sore after my recent long weekend. Check in was fast, checkout was a bit slow but staff did cut their lunch break early when they started to notice a line. It was nice that they help to arrange transportation (guest still pays) to the airport but would be even more helpful if they printed out boarding passes (for people with only carryons) upon check out; the airport does not have self checkin kiosks so people with carryons have to wait in the same line as those with luggage. Heopfully that changes with the airport renovations.
Ocean Club West is located close to downtown shopping and grocery store. The hotel provides bikes that you can ride to the stores. They are also within walking distance. Sail Provo for excursions. We did a catamaran snorkel sail which was awesome. They pull up in the water in the catamaran and pick you up right on the beach. Average daily temperatures were upper 80's low 90's . Weather is just gorgeous!
I stayed here 9 nights in a regular garden view room (the G building - room 734) on the top floor. - The room feels a bit tight when you get in but that is because you do have a fully equipped kitchen (full size fridge, stove, big sink, pots, pans, everything that you need to cook a meal) - The bed is comfortable, king size - There is a love seat, dresser, coffee table, night stands - There is a great feature, a double sliding door opens towards a huge balcony with a table and 2 chairs and a lounge chair. The balcony is screen in so there are no bug problems. We slept a couple of nights with the door fully open and the fans running in the room and balcony and waking up to the coconut trees and breeze was great. This is an awesome feature that doubles the actual space of the room) - Yes, the furniture in the room could use a bit of updating, it is a bit rustic, but that is in no way an issue. - there is a really nice pool, there are always seats available. Only used it once, you go there for the beach not for the pool. There are 2 webber grills that you can use. Grounds are impecable - the Seaside Cafe, the restaurant on the premises is nice, good and pretty well priced for TCI (island prices much higher than US). The menus (both lunch and dinner) are only 3 pages (including drinks) but this is my preference, I hate menus with 20 pages...you know those things can't all be fresh - the beach - plenty of chairs and umbrellas, you have 5 times more than the number of people, I hear in the busy season you'll see more people but not many more. Anyway, the beach is the same for ALL hotels, it does not matter where you stay, I walked it all and it is simply gorgeous - staff is quiet, calm, friendly, doing their job trying not to be noticed -this is a family oriented place, but I think this applies to the whole island. No clubs, huge loud bars etc - you are very close to so many awesome restaurants, shops and the grocery store. It is a 5 minute walk / 2 minute bike ride to the grocery store. You can walk to restaurants either on the beach or on the street, everything is minutes away. IF you want to go somewhere further away, you can take a bike, rent a car/scooter or simply get a cab (hotel will call for you - just remember, you pay per person) I am sure I am forgetting stuff but all in all I could not be happier with my choice to stay here. You can definitely find a better hotel/villa on the island (i.e Seven Stars, Pointe Grace) but you will be paying 3 times as much. I am accustomed to staying in both true 5 star hotels but also in cheaper ones. This has a perfect balance of what you get vs price. We did not miss anything, we had no problems what so ever and loved our stay. And just remember, you go to TCI for the beach. Period. Regardless of where you stay, this is what makes your vacation and it is the same for everyone. It was our first time there and will DEFINITELY go back.
Beautiful, clean, quiet resort. Friendly and helpful staff at the front desk.
The resort has a great restaurant , Seaside Cafe. We we're quit surprised on how tasty the food was. Having a full kitchen in our room helped save us some money on meals and food. It is very expensive throughout the area to eat out.
