This is a great hotel. It's very quiet, the staff are very attentive, breakfast is everything I want in a breakfast and it's in the most perfect location. If you're looking for somewhere to stay where it's easy to get to all the events in the city, this is the place.
A lovely warm welcome greets you when you enter this "5" star hotel. Great location as well. The bedroom was comfortable with plenty of wardrobe & storage space. Good number of hangers available which is an unusual asset these days. The use of mirrors throughout gave a lovely air of spaciousness and it was all beautifully clean. Credit here to the housekeeping team. We had a corner suite and because we were located on the 7th floor all sound from the traffic below was dulled if the windows were opened.
The hotel is in a nice location just off Via Roma in Turin, and shopping is convenient. Be aware though that this hotel does NOT offer free drinking water of any kind. When I called down to the reception, they said I was free to take the San Pellegrino from the minibar, but they confirmed I would have to pay €4 for it. To their credit, housekeeping sent a bottle of water when I asked them what I should take my medicine with. The markings on the light switches in the room had already badly faded, leaving it difficult to tell which switch controlled which set of lights. The bed was quite comfortable. So too we're the pillows. Breakfast was not the most extensive, although food quality was decent, not great. Scrambled eggs was the only egg option available. At check out, it appears you may only credit the stay to Alitalia. Sadly I am not a frequent flyer with that airline. All in a lackluster experience, and I am not sure I would return to this hotel.
First word of caution if you arrive on a Saturday/Sunday; they close several streets by the hotel which makes it difficult to get there. So at first it's a bad thing but it's a good in regards that it's centrally located and close to shops and restaurants. The rooms are nice(junior suite), we had a king bed which was nice but the pillows are terrible!! I had to ask for extra ones and combine three of them to make one decent one. The room service is not good so beware, the gnocchi looked and tasted like hash-browns. The bathroom was very nice though, the tub was big enough for two. The whole bathroom is wrapped in marble and shower as well. The rain shower is angled towards the wall so it doesn't offer a good angle which was strange. The breakfast is ok and that's being nice, it's basically a continental one. You are better off going somewhere close by. (The Bfest was included but to us not even worth that!) I normally take a lot of pictures during my stays but this one didn't do it for me. The staff was extremely friendly and the bartender very talkative and kind. Overall, it was a good hotel but it depends how you like to travel...
Excactly one year later we - as frequent guests - returned to this Hotel. Do you expect a warm welcome back at the reception? Do you expect a welcome drink at the reception of a 5 Star Hotel? We have not received it. Because of problems with a parking fine in 2016 we received an upgrade for our room. Of course the guests have to find their rooms themselves. Room 207: When checking the room 207 we found technical problems in the bathroom. When trying to pour water into the bathtub the water was only running out of the hand shower. It was impossible to use the water tap. In the wash basin the waste water was running very slowly out into the pipe. Internet was only having a weak signal and very often we got kicked off the internet. This is not a single case in this hotel. When standing at the reception at lunch time another lady has informed the staff that internet was not working in her room. So we also informed the receptionist about our Internet problems Then we went to the Bar to order a drink. Thanks God our friendly Barkeeper Flavio has served and spoiled us with some snacks. After spending time in the City we returned late evening and saw that Internet still was not working correct. The same problems appeared. But the problems in the bathroom were solved. Restaurant: In the evening we had our dinner in the Restaurant of the hotel. At 9:30 p.m. we were the only guests. We ordered Spaghetti with Ragout. The second meal was Tartar. The quality of the Tartar was poor. It had no flavour, no salt, no pepper, no capers, no egg and no onions. It was tasteless and the worse I ever had. The Spaghetti also was average. All of it has not a standard of a 5 Star hotel. The waitress has not cared about us. We needed to refill our glasses of wine out of our bottle. After serving the meal and wine bottle she disappeared. I would rate the experience in the Restaurant with 1 point! Breakfast: The next morning on the way to the breakfast rooms some staff has passed us without greeting. When arriving at the brekfast room we also were not greeted and two waitresses were standing together to chat or to hold a conversation. In general this happens every day and was the same the year before. What do you expect to find for breakfast in a 5 Star Hotel at the buffet? Do you want to get Salmon, an egg or orange juice? No problem, you can order it and you need to pay for it. Salmon will be charged with 12,00 € and orange juice with 7,00 € and an omelett you can get for a supplement of 10,00 €. In general the choice for breakfast is poor and simple. If I need to rate this separate I would give 2 points. Check out: There was no question about beeing satisfied. There was no wish to see us again in this hotel. One suggestion for guests who arrive by car. There is no parking space in front of the Hotel. Ask the reception to park your car and let them give you a receipt what time they have taken over and parked the car. When getting back the car you should ask for this receipt as well. With these actions you can avoid problems with a fine from Police. My personal individual rating: Service (except our Barkeeper Flavio) 2 points Breakfast: 2 points Internet: 2 points Room (suite!) 207: 3-4 points TV (small choice of different international channels, small size of screen) : 2 points Restaurant: 1 point Bar: 4 points Location: 4 points
Beautiful hotel, clean and quiet. Great and professional service. Very tasty meals and coffee. Strongly recommend, especially for business trips. Hotel is located in a very city center, many shops around.
We stayed one night at the hotel. We have booked a room with a view of the city. The room was quiet and spacious and the view fabulous. The beds were very good, and the bathroom extremely well equipped. The breakfast was excellent offering all you could ask for. While in Turin I, unfortunately, had some work to do that had to be collected by a courier after departure. The hotel was very helpful and everything was handled smoothly. They recommended us to have dinner at a restaurant nearby 'Pastificio de Filippis' - serving very delicious home made pasta. In the daytime, it is a shop where you can the freshly made pasta. A wonderful and too short stay in Turin. We will be back soon :-)
This is a lovely hotel, in a charming city. Located 5 mins walk from the train station, and central to everything in Torino. Very clean and stylish, with helpful and friendly staff. Room had a view over pretty rooftops. Quiet and all promised amenities (eg wifi) delivered as promised. Good breakfast. I would love to stay here again.
Poor quality toiletries, poor breakfast options, extremely hard bed and pillows, with no pillow menu, all in all not worthy of it's five star rating. There are no information brochures in the room, leaving us bewildered by the lighting and air conditioning systems. There is no complimentary bottled water or hospitality tray, but there is an extremely expensive room service menu. The breakfast staff are not able to cope with the volume of guests at around 9 am and even ran out of breakfast items two hours before the service ended at 11 am on Sunday morning. Such a shame to be left feeling disappointed after such an expensive stay in a Junior Suite.
This place was fantastic ! Immaculately clean room, fantastic breakfast spread, and attentive staff. The location was so central and as we were leaving for Switzerland on a train it was perfect to have Ports Nuova just down the street! Also the entire hotel smells terrific! There are reed diffusers everywhere, this was truest a great touch. 10/10 would stay again!
