As my husband is a petrol head and we were driving to Turin to go to a couple of museums, it seemed appropriate to book this hotel which is in part of the old Fiat Factory. When we arrived, there were 2 different car rallies also stopping over at the hotel. We were able to access the free parking outside the hotel. You press the button at the orange barrier. We checked out the entrance on Streetview first so we knew what we were looking for. Checking in was quick. We had a standard room on the 2nd floor overlooking the courtyard. Loved the big airy room. Must have the highest ceiling ever. Thought the timeline of furnishings inviting you to identify what was in your room was interesting. Not sure that we needed 5 lamps. In fact I unplugged a couple of them as the wires were acting as tripwires! The room was clean and comfortable. Big table and 2 chairs. Comfy bed. Nice bed linen. Really good pillows. Plenty of hanging space. The only disappointment was that the safe wasn’t big enough for a laptop, just a tablet. Really good breakfast selection. Cheerful staff who were quick to clear tables. You are given free vouchers at reception to visit the Agnelli art collection and this is where you get to the test track. The track is steeply banked at both ends. It’s a challenge to walk round the top of the track. It’s pretty amazing. I so wanted to see the Fiat 500 Abarth cars on their summer Turin rally hurtling round it. Can recommend the Museo dell’Automobile. We thought it was interesting and well done. Not just rows of dusty cars, but had context and was thought provoking as well as a giving you a trip down memory lane. Buy your tickets online to avoid the inevitable queue. The Metro is just out the front of the hotel and it takes 10-15 minutes to get to Porta Nuova. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Thought that the staff we came into contact with were very pleasant and helpful.
This is our 8th day of our AROC goes to Italy trip. This is the original Fiat factory, fully updated to a 4 Star hotel. On the roof is the original Fiat automobile test track. They do not drive on it but you can walk around the oval. There are many photos of the factory and cars.
Huge, calm & and clean rooms, cose to subway, free parking and good breakfast. Nice and helpful staff and do not miss to have a look at ex-Fiat test circuit on top ! Quite modern and interesting decorated.
I really enjoyed my visit here. The rooms were huge and very clean. The breakfast was excellent. I do wish the front desk staff had been a bit more informative about hotel details. I had to follow up about details re: breakfast time and location. The info about visiting the rooftop test track was also not provided. Another guest mentioned a gym but I’m not sure if there was one. Other than that, the restaurant and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful.
A rather curious hotel in what appeared at first glance to be an out-of-town retail park. The hotel actually formed part of a vast shopping precinct with numerous eatery outlets catering for every imaginable taste. The ‘industrial setting’ was soon to become abundantly clear, for we were to discover that we were actually staying in the original Lingotto Fiat factory built in 1920 which proudly claims to be one of the finest examples of early industrial architecture made using reinforced concrete. The relevance of all this ‘superstructure’ is because the Fiat car test track sits on the roof of this world famous building! Details in our room explained that the Fiat factory plant closed in 1982 so Lingotto has now been transformed into a new multifunctional centre complete with a conference centre with auditorium, a multiplex cinema, art gallery and two 4-Star hotels. How bizarre that this information had been kept under-wraps rather than being highlighted by the Great Rail Journey Company who we were travelling with. Thankfully a classic car enthusiast in our group who owns a rather special Alfa Romeo negotiated with the hotel management and a key to access the track on the roof was provided. Naturally we took advantage of this privileged situation and joined with a few others to take photographs of the track. The hotel room was rather spartan in decor but of decent proportions with a good sized bathroom. The hotel gave the impression that it would perhaps be better suited to accommodate business guests attending the conference centre. The evening meal was efficiently served but it was particularly noticeable that all the staff appeared to be rather glum. For some strange reason the coach could not park outside the hotel entrance despite the site accommodating numerous car parking spaces. All in all an overnight stay which did not necessarily disappoint but failed to sufficiently impress to revisit in the future.
Very nice stay in Turin. Hotel and staff were very good and the evening meal was good. Access to the site was fairly easy once we had mastered the roads. Which were a change to the morning having crossed the Alps from France
We had a perfect stay during our weekend visit to Turin. The hotel is modern and perfectly decorated. Spacious rooms and bathroom. The real exquisit experience is the walk on the roof of the ex-Fiat factory, which was the test race track before. Eataly is just a 1 min walk away and the hotel bamboo garden is an excellent choice for Aperitivo and cocktails. The breakfast was perfect with great variety. Definitely I do recommend the hotel.
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and I really cannot praise it enough. For us the location is perfect for our requirement and we like being just outside of the centre but you are on top of the metro and 10 minutes you are there. The staff on reception are exceptional, the rooms are a good size and very clean. The breakfast buffet is among the best we have had. Massive selection, fresh, and the staff again really helpful. Sleep quality is not rated as excellent as unfortunately we had a problem with the AC and the room was very warm. However, the sound proofing in the room, is probably the best we have ever experienced. No disturbances from people in the corridor or above or below, which is generally unheard of in a hotel of this size!
The famous FIAT factory with the test circuit on top is the location of this hotel. Every room, the reception Area and restaurant shows pictures and artiest impressionist of the factory as well as the numero’s famous cars which were produced there. there is a restaurant, but in the direct neighbourhood there are plenty “real” italian restaurants. Rooms are Nice, clean and equipes with perfects beds. There is sufficiënt parking space and the metro station is around the corner.
When you first arrive to this place, you really wonder if you will find a room with a bed and a shower. Finally behind the coldness of the lobby, you realize that the place is the old FIAT manufacturing site which have been revamped into shopping mall, offices, Congress center and an hotel. The rooms are high ceiling, pretty wide and designed in a smart industrial field remembering the history of the place. Finally a nice experience even if a bit surprising at the beginning.
