NH Torino Lingotto Congress4.0 out of 5.0

When someone tells me I have to spend the night in a converted office block with a test track on the roof, I shudder. Such is the Lingotto Congress. Yet it has been converted with such taste and elegance that it really works quite well (probably better than the Fiat cars that were manufactured there). What's more, the bed was really comfortable, the bathroom clean and functional, and the dinner simple but surprisingly good. Service was generally friendly, too.
We came to Torino for a sporting event, and the Lingotto Congress was very convenient. Some work colleagues stayed here quite often and I had stayed in other NH hotels in Torino. The hotel location is very good as many of the other reviews have stated. It is very close to the Lingotto metro stop (a few meters from the entrance) so it is very very easy to get to from the train station (Porta Nuova), and to get into the heart of Torino. As it is in the old Fiat factory, one really must go up to the roof and see the test track there. Another key benefit is the location relative to the Eataly Torino Lingotto, which is less than a block away from the hotel. We requested taxis a few times, and in each case, they arrived within 4 minutes or exactly on time. Pretty impressive. The staff was very professional and friendly enough at the front desk and the restaurant. Service was fast and responsive to our needs for the most part. The rooms were comfortable and pretty quiet (our rooms looked over the inner garden). We weren't able to really master the heating / cooling system, and had to keep our window open for temperature control. One morning the drain plug in the tub would not function, but this was very quickly fixed by the staff. The tile floors in the room seemed to collect sand/particles tho..and we noticed as the days went on that they needed a good vacuum. We returned to the hotel late one evening, and took dinner. The food was surprisingly good. We hadn't expected much as the restaurant was not promoted highly, but we were very pleasantly surprised. There is a bar, but it really caters to the restaurant, with only seating for about 8 guests. The buffet breakfast was pretty good. Lots of fresh fruit. All in all, we all agreed that we would stay there again, if we were to go for another sporting event.
Very nice looking rooms with a modern/industral feel, very quite so definitely there's a chance to have a good rest. Very good restaruant. Staff friendly and helpfull. Gym access was a very good addition to me. Overall very pleasent stay!
Quite an experience - loved it With GRJ - had to leave at 6.30am as France on strike. The only problem was only two small lifts when 32 of us wanted to get to our rooms etc. Couldn't get the air con to work.
I've stayed in this hotel during a work trip. This hotel is excellent. The room is big and comfortable. The breakfast, lunch and dinner are Ok. This hotel is next to the Lingotto Station (underground), where you can take a underground to go to the centre of the city. It's very fast and easy. This hotel is located in a complex, where there is a big mall and, on the top of the building, there is an old car test track and a little museum. This was an old car factory in the past. The staff is very friendly. I don't know how expensive it was, because I haven't paid my stay. It was paid by the entity that organized the trainning thas I was doing. There is a very good room for meetings in this hotel.
I stayed here on my way home from Venice. The hotel is a little out of the way but there is plenty to do in the area, with a shopping centre in the same building and the very good art gallery and test track on the roof. Rooms look a bit tired but are very stylish and the bed was the best I have slept in in Italy. Very good dinner with a really friendly and attentive waitress.
Huge rooms is the plus here as well as being inside the historic Fiat factory & headquarters. The public spaces are equally nice & airy - even though the furniture is a bit bland and starts to show its age. Good & generous breakfast. Efficient staff. The gym could do with a sauna & steam room.
Very great european breakfast, large rooms, very quick check in/check out. Good service, parking without major problems, comfortable beds. One minus - I did not have a welcome water but I recommend the hotel.
I stayed here 3 nights as part of a tour. The fact that it was the former Fiat factory is by far the most interesting thing about the hotel. It is away from the center of town but near to a convention center. There is a subway station very near to the hotel, and the original Eataly is next door, but that is about all that is nearby. The food was mediocre. The rooms were large enough, the bed and the shower were OK, but the 3 chairs in the room were very uncomfortable. The worst part was the room temperature. I was told that the city of Turin requires all hotels to switch over from air conditioning to heat on October 1 each year. I have no idea if that is true, so maybe it was just bad timing for me, but my room (and others in the tour group) was much too hot to sleep in. There was no way to turn off the heat. The windows in the room only opened about 4 inches, so there was no change for a cooling breeze from the outside. There is a shopping mall connected to the hotel. No great stores, but a place to get a great massage and a decent pizza restaurant (Rosso Pomodoro). I would not choose this hotel-there are too many other hotels with better food and a better location in Turin (see Hotel Grand Sitea).
breakfast has been excellent. room is comfortable and good staff. I liked better Lingotto Tech bathroom without bathtub. Only problem that I had was to find parking place especially when I returned to hotel late.
