The hotel is a 5 minuets walk from the international train station, easy to find. The hotel is large, but a bit tired, my toilet seat was loose, and my friends shower door fell off and her light fitting didn’t work. But it’s ok for a couple of days stop. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite good, with a good selection, no English breakfast, only European. I had a room buy the busy road, but the room was quiet, and I had the best night sleep on my whole trip. Overall good for a short stay.
Have stayed here a few times now for the Porta Susa train station. The bed was good. Room safe was good (newish controls and info in English), but too small for a tablet or laptop. Closet with 3 drawers. Table and chair. Suitcase 'rack' to open suitcases on. 2 coat hooks. Keycard operates lights. Shower (but head is fixed and very high up). Emergency pull cord in bathroom, but outside the shower cubicle. Phone. Bedside shelf. Radiators (which were on in April in 29 degrees!). Aircon (but it wasn't on in April in 29 degrees, however that was changed when we were there). Good helpful staff. BBC World news (get your tv re-tuned, otherwise no tv channels in English). PC with printer which you can use. Elevator. First night problems with water gushing through the toilet and pipes. Later no water or hot water. This was fixed during the morning. Second night we had a short electric power cut, but it wasn't just the hotel this time! Minibar still in the cupboard, which you can't use! (This needs removing or being put back into use!). No lights until the keycard is inserted, however you can't find the slot to put it in, in the dark! No handrail to hold in the shower. No instructions for the phone. Poor single pillow.
Stayed here for a week in March. The location is fantastic. The hotel is in one of the historic buildings of central Turin with a covered walkway out over the street. It is mere metres from Porta Susa train station. Which was not seedy at all based on my experience. This was very helpful for our trips to nearby cities. Since one is already in the centre of the city a pleasant short walk into the absolute centre is very easy. There are restaurants and cafes/bars/takeaways nearby which open late. More importantly their food is very tasty. The hotel staff were professional and helpful, and were happy to speak English with us. The decor will be viewed as 'dated' by some. I remain unconcerned. I found the Hotel in good condition, and exceptionally clean. Tthe room had two layers of double glazing and was very quiet as a result. It was warm in the room, we didn't need AC but it was there. The breakfast buffet was nice, it was unfussy with cereals, ham, cheese, scrambled egg, sausage, cake (!), nice coffee, fruit, yoghurt, juices. We were very pleased to stay at this hotel and would be very happy to return. I highly recommend it to you.
Booked this hotel, partly for price, but as much for its proximity to the main railway station, Porta Susa, and whilst that isn't always the wisest move, on this occasion it was okay. Walk of about 10 minutes to the city centre but other points of interest even closer. Travelling alone, the room I occupied was somewhat small and basic, though quiet as at the back of the building. Breakfast was fine with various savouries, fruit, croissants et cetera, but coffee from the machine wasn't perhaps the best. Hotel doesn't serve dinner but there are 2/3 good restaurants a mere stone's throw. Overall, a low-priced modest hotel, in a not-bad location with reasonable service.
PROS: Location - very close to the Porta Susa station, where you can get the airport bus, and close to the city center Value-for-money Cleanliness Small single room, but well furnished and organized Mini-bar, safety deposit box (albeit tiny) Good shower pressure, even staying at the top floor CONS: Poorest breakfast ever! No vegetables, no mustard or mayonnaise, poor coffee, limited choice of everything, and no change of menu for 5 days! When hotel full, the slow and small elevator cannot cope Most uncomfortable bed I have slept in... Poor toiletries, but nothing unexpected here On each day the maid did not change towels or renew toiletries, even after I specifically demanded that at the reception - this is inexcusable! Hopefully staff from reception helped in this respect every evening.
Started badly when the receptionist gave us incorrect details about the room facilities. On opening the room door, the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. As this is allegedly a non-smoking hotel, we mentioned it to the receptionist who repeated that it was a non-smoking hotel and that was the end of that. The safe in the room had flat batteries so didn’t work, but it would have been pretty pointless anyway as the safe was screwed to a removable shelf in the cupboard and could have been stolen without the slightest trouble. The bathroom was so small that the toilet was only accessible to contortionists and as the seat was loose it was a health hazard, particularly to anyone even slightly infirm. The plastic shower screen was partly off it’s rollers, and the glass shelf over the sink fell off if anything was placed on it. On the plus side, the room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and powerful and the breakfast was good.
We stayed here once before two years ago, and were given a room that faced the street, which was a bit noisy. This time, they gave us room 206, which is in the back, and it was super quiet. (There were people running around the hotel in the middle of the night, opening and shutting a door -- but I can't imagine that happens often!) We returned based on the value, the service, stellar breakfast, and the location. We had a 10:00 train to Paris, and we wanted a hotel which was a five minute walk to the train station. There are some suitable restaurants for dinner behind the hotel, and the staff is happy to recommend one given your preferences. The room is basic, but clean -- and has a mini-refrige, extra pillows and blankets, a small wardrobe to hang your clothes, etc. We chose a room with twin beds, which really are quite small, so if you're tall like I am, you'll hang off in the night. Also, the breakfast wasn't as great as when we were here last. The scrambled eggs, for example, what little there were of them ... obviously had been there for a long time. Would we come back a third time? You bet!
I definitely recommend this hotel. Location is unbeatable: just five minutes away from Torino Porta Susa railway station and 15' from Piazza Castello (on foot). The facilities are clean, well taken care of and nicely decorated. The hotel is well heated and there is abundant hot water in the shower. Breakfast is varied and very generous. A special mention should be made in connection with the hotel's staff: they are very polite, kind and helpful to guests!
Well located for bus station, main railway station and metro. Check-in and check-out very quick and easy. Decent size room for a single and a good breakfast laid on in a decent dining room. Plenty of local restaurants and shops, including a 24 hour bar right next door. Would definitely recommend this hotel when visiting Turin.
Position of the Hotel it s ok, good welcome, fast room delivery, we receive a room rith balcony, bathromm was our disapoint becaude it s small, the wc it s near washbasin, and the door of the shower was broken, not so good breakfast, they don t have vegetables al all.At 0 degree it was cold in the room, the radiator was to small.
