This hotel is only a short walk from the Toronto porta susa train station. The room was very clean, air conditioned, and the shower excellent. There are bars and resturants nearby. Breakfast was continental and enough for us. The staff were polite and very helpful.Good value for money.
My husband and I took a bus (actually 3 busses) over the Italian Alps from Chamonix to spend a couple of days in Turin. I found the Hotel Dock Milano on the internet and booked it because it is close to the bus station. If you walk across the street from where the busses park and look for the black sculpture of a ball atop a bowl, you will find the hotel directly opposite. The check in was easy, The room we were given was modern, super clean, and very large for a European hotel room. We got a map from the front desk, and walked to the city center. The included breakfast was good with plenty of choices. The breakfast room is large and offers abundant seating. We spent a very quiet and comfortable night here. I would stay here again without hesitation.
It may look a bit tired when you go in, but the rooms are modern and very clean. The lobby and stair case are charming in an old Italian way. There is also an elevator. The staff is very friendly and speak english. We stayed for one night and took it because it is literally across the street from the Porta Susa Train Station and we had a very early train. The fridge in the room did not work but the desk clerk explained that with the remodelling they were not functioning now. He did offer that the bar next door would keep anything we wanted if needed. We had a front room overlooking the train station but the double glazed windows insured there was no noise. If you are arriving by train take the Exit XVIII Dicembre. The train station is long and has multiple exits. This exit has a few stairs but right before on the right is an escalator The Hotel is across the roundabout.
Situated at less than five minutes from Torino Porta Susa railway station: direct link to Lyon via TGV. Extremely nice personnel with good service. Room was squeaky clean and no ambient noise. Would be a 5/5 if it had been bigger.
The most basic requirement for any backpacker is the closeness of hotel accommodation to the train station and in this case you walk out of the station and cross the road and sign in. The hotel was clean and tidy with a very good breakfast and even opened the breakfast room early on a Sunday (should be 7.30 but let us in at 6.30) as we had an early train. The staff were good and gave us the largest map of any town or city we have ever visited, it was in fact the local transport map, but it worked, more than we could say about the fridge although the Air-Conditioning was in top form, nearly blew us out of bed. The town center is a steady ten minute walk and we were in the town on the night of the Champion's League Final so it was busy, busy. Overall a nice hotel with a great stair case and nice location.
We stayed overnight in Turin on our way to Paris. Were very happy with how close it was to the station so we didn't have to lug our suitcases too far back and forth. It was very clean and a large room with queen for myself and husband and two twins for our kids. We didn't expect breakfast, but it was included. It was a good continental, easy to take on the run. Staff was very friendly. Close enough to walk to stores and restaurants. Great value for the money.
Firstly the staff member on reception was so polite and this was obviously not his fault . He said something about it being Spring and the air conditioning is set to come on in the summer . It is currently 38 degrees in my room , the mosquitoes are out in force and I am very unhappy . Please do not book this hotel. I will never ever stay here again .
Basic but okay, air con not working but otherwise comfortable. Breakfast average, coffee out of machines, fresh coffee is always nicer but I guess it's a low maintenance hotel. Definitely good for train station but a little far from centre if one wanted to walk about. Visit the Quick Italian restaurant in area at back of the station as excellent and only 5-10 minutes walk. Recommend this for short stay.
I booked a night here to break up a train journey from Florence to England and chose the Hotel Dock Milano for its position. It is very convenient for Turin's Porta Susa station - in fact you are likely to walk further inside the station than you will from the hotel to the station. A warm welcome awaited even at 11am and my bags were safely locked away until I could check in later. There are tramstops close to the hotel making the centre of the city less than 5 minutes away, and there is also a stop outside for the open-top hop-on, hop-off bus. My room was a good size, immaculately clean, furnished sparsely but with a really good bathroom. The walls are a little thin, but the people in the room next door who chose to shower at 10pm were paid back when I had to shower at 5:30am the next day. Best of all was my little balcony which looked over nothing in particular at the back of the hotel but was very welcome in the late evening when I could throw the doors open and let the outside in. I cannot comment on the food as I had to leave before breakfast, but would have no hesitation in staying again.
This is really nice old-fashioned hotel with marble stairways, tall ceilings, carpets and so on. But all these decorations look reasonable in the old building with colonnades and unusual nice-looking balcones. Our room wasn't big, but nice enough to enjoy staying there. There are nothing to claim (the staff was really friendly, the breakfast was good as well), except some minor issues. It's a bit far from the center for walking (more than 15 minutes) and if you like to open windows instead of using air conditioning be prepared to the noice outside, because of trams. But trams and metro is few steps away from the front door, seems like big plus in the same time.)
