Cute, fair and nice - but they forgot our towels

The hotel is beautiful, the price is great. However, there are some stairs and courts spaces who make it difficult to access the rooms with big luggage. This is also due to the fact that the elevator, while charming, is old/classic. Moreover, one of their rooms has a separate bathroom but it isn't that clear in the ad, so make sure to double-check. There were no towels in our room too. The staff however, is very attentive to the travellers' needs.

The Attic

My Piedmontese stay (Il Mio Soggiorno Piemontese).

Generally pleasant, especially since I managed to pay it all in advance. The hotel's safeness and its accessibility to public transit like the trams and motorbuses/metro along with the Porta Nuova train station made it very convenient and tempting to stay at their place again in the future.

The staff is Very kind, they are always helping the tourists with an excelent attitude. It's a good place for visit the north of Italy.

1. The Artua & Solferino was hard to find. 2. The hotel seems to share buildings with offices. 3. Room no 9 is in the attic with a very sharp winding staircase leading to a room that can best be described as an attic. 4. I upgraded to free internet, when I queried reception I was informed that I did not have free internet. I had to query this again to get internet access. The Artua & Solferino is one of the worst hotels if not the worst hotel that I have stayed in. Staff friendly enough except reception hanging up the phone when I rang down to reception inquiring about internet. Hotel 10 mins walk from city center.

our first night in Italy

This hotel looks grand on the outside. It occupies two buildings with reception on the ground floor of one while the hotel itself is on the fourth floor of the next with no interconnecting walkway. A lot of extra charges we hadn't expected - city tax 2.30 euro per person, off street parking 25 euro, in room wi.fi connection 8 euro & breakfast. With all these additional charges we probably could have found a nicer hotel. We were given a pin number for the building which didn't work & initially there was no electricity in our room because repairs were being done in the building. The bed was not comfortable but the room was clean & the bathroom good. Breakfast was crap - that's the best I can say about that!! The concierge spoke english, which is always a bonus.
