So for me, a schoolboy error...booking this hotel on the back of their website and not reading the reviews. I apologise to my sleep deprived colleagues for having chosen it. Other reviews tell the same story...whilst the rooms are spacious and at least some of the staff are friendly, you will basically be on top of a nightclub that will pound out noise until all hours. I was on the 6th floor and the noise managed to wake me up about 3am..it booms so loud, you can feel the bass through the bed. I would never stay here again, never...possibly my worst hotel experience in 30 years of international travel
Nice, cheap and old-style hotel close to the airport. It has charme and friendly staff. BUT: there is a bar with very loud music until late at night. No way to sleep there. So better avoid it! They have to decide if they want to be a bar or a hotel. Both doesn’t work.
I like hotel and restaurants to be as describe. I want what I am expected to pay for. This hotel was quite a disappointment. Yes, the room I had was large and reasonably clean, with a large bathroom and separate shower cubicle. Unfortunately, the pictures cannot convey the horrible pervading smell that greeted me as the lift doors opened on the floor I was staying on, which was also present in the room. The pictures are also strangely silent about the music that played late into the night, and the banging, gurgling and rattling sounds coming for the floors above. The restaurant was not ready for guest at the advertised opening time, and despite my early arrival the tea and hot food on offer were cold. I could go on but will limit myself to saying that colleagues had a far better experience at a different hotel.
First tip - if you're very sensitive to noise then you better stay away, particularly on weekends. Or ask for top floor rooms. The hotel is fairly priced and quite strategically located in the city. About a 10-15 min drive from Tunis airport. Check in was pretty fast, there was a porter to carry our bags to the rooms. They have no keycards as is the norm in most other hotels, I guess this adds to the hotel's charm. Bed was comfortable, big windows provide adequate natural light. There's enough storage in the wardrobes for clothing and shoes. A safe is also provided for any valuables you may have. There's a separate tub and shower. My shower wasn't working during my stay but the tub was alright. Good water pressure, almost like a rainshower. Food: breakfast was alright though can get/feel monotonous if you're staying for long. They should provide fresh fruit though, not canned! Had dinner there on two occasions - portions are very generous. Liked the pizza. Check out was a breeze, no delays. Would stay again if I return to Tunis.
We were impressed by the lovely room, elegant furniture, good selection of foreign channels on tv, friendly and helpful staff however after we settled into our beds to get some sleep loud pounding music resonated through the rooms until the middle of the night. We didn't realize that it came from inside the hotel, the next morning as the club transforms into the breakfast room. The bathrooms although very big and beautiful emanante an odour of clogged sewage especially when it rains outside. It's a shame because the rooms are so nice and cozy but there is the noise of the traffic from the streets which one could bear but the disco, well, unbearable.
I recommend this hotel for the comfort it displays. The rooms are gigantic, bathrooms are very big. The air is very cool inside, comparing to the hot Tunis climate. The decor is very "royal", fit for anyone who wants to feel like a king. Room services is prompt and the food is amazing. The location is very convenient. Close to metro stations and only a short walk away from the city center.
This is meant to be be a 5 star hotel but actually it is most a 2 star. I have stayed in 4 star hotel in Tunis. It is very not clean and the bathrooms smell of raw sewage. DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. My worst hotel experience in Tunis
It is 3.21 am as I write this. The floor is shaking, the walls are vibrating and, as I lie trying to sleep, my rib cage is shaking and spreading deeply upsetting vibrations through my body. There is no earthquake; there is no volcano. This hotel in its wisdom has decided to destroy the sleep of its paying guests by playing host to the world's worst and loudest nightclub. It is three floors beneath me but it feels like it is inside my body. I have to work later. I've fired up my laptop to try to make something good of these wasted hours when I should be sleeping. I have turned on the TV and put a music channel on to try to disguise the awful thump-thump-thump that is shaking through my body like some siege torture. Pity the poor neighbours. The lights from the disco beneath me are bouncing off the walls and windows of buildings all around. In other news, the room is lovely, the food has been good and the staff friendly. But I will NEVER ever consider staying here again - or allowing my team to stay here, because I think sleep is vital and a hotel is nothing if it can't offer a good night's sleep. It is 3.21 am.
Actually the hotel looks good location as well also the staff is friendly and warm. Rooms are old but clean in addtion the hitel has got only king size bed whixh means it fits only couple not friends.I noticed somthing strang the bathroom is too big . The breakfast is very nice and delicious . The overall of is very good
Nice rooms overall even if a bit old and cleanliness is in the average standard of the town. At night from 2.00 am to 4.00 am , Disco delight ! The club at first floor starts pumping basses to make you vibrate !! No chance to sleep unfortunately even at top floor... How can people be so stupid..... Attention ! Impossible de dormir a cause du club disco au premier étage Attenzione ! Il ristorante al primo piano diventa discoteca dalle 2.00 alle 4.00 Non si dorme nemmeno all ultimo piano ! Lasciate perdere !
