This was my second stay in this hotel after more than a year. I was happy to see that my previous trip’s observations are still valid. The hotel is located at a cliff overseeing Mediterranean Sea but I don’t think the rooms have sea views. There is a nice pool, (in fact there are many pools) and there are rooms facing pool. The outdoor pools were deserted due to cold weather though. The apartments located outside the main hotel building are bigger in size but very dated and old. There is a need of proper signages in those area, we almost lost our way thrice to locate our room. The hotel has good food options with four restaurants (for dinner) and two for lunch. The breakfast spread is ok, nothing great though. I felt breakfast time was sort of staff or sort of motivation... there were no proactive approach of staffs to reach to guests to help choosing options or offer help. For both mornings I stayed, I had to look for staff for coffee and spoon. Other than the breakfast, I would appreciate the friendliness of staff. The front office was always genuinely willing to help, for my room upgrade, for arranging airport pickup, etc. I would also mention the guest relation lady Sarra, who took time to ask my feedback and genuinely drilled into the areas where I indicated some concerns. Overall, I would prefer staying here whenever I visit again.

I came back to this hotel after 4 years maybe from my last stay. The rooms are big and OK but bathrooms really needs renovation and maintenance. Overall the whole hotel facilities needs maintenance and renovation, I think if this is done it will become one of the best hotels as it used to be. Customer service was great except for the person who checked us in, but after reminding him to treat the customers in a better way, he became Ok!

Lovely view of pool area from balcony of room. Unfortunately that is where the positive aspects end. Room itself is very outdated decor wise. A feeling of uncleanliness is apparent throughout the entire room. Carpet at the side of bed is extremely dirty and urgently needs a clean. The closets smell very musky when opened. The bathroom has limescale residue on the sink taps, shower head and shower taps. On turning the sink tap on and off it transferred onto my skin. The bathroom floor looks like there are stains left all over the tiles. I could not go barefoot as it looked so unclean. Room service was hit and miss. It took 3 repeats of an order over the phone to successfully order soup and spaghetti. The next day I ordered an American breakfast with an extra side order of fruit. The fruit never arrived. Room service was delivered quickly though. Great location as it is extremely close to the popular sidi bou said. Ask the hotel for an agreed upon price with a taxi before leaving so you will not get ripped off.

Stayed here for a business trip. The hotel is no where near the beach. While it is has a wonderful view, it is not near anything. The rooms are a decent size and the bathroom is spacious. The air conditioning doesn’t work well. Plenty of restaurants are decent. The spa and hammam was great and reasonably priced.

I stayed in golden tulip many times for the past 8 years. I have to say that three of the staff members of the hotel are exceptinally amazing. Hatem Ben Aber (front desk manager)and bell boys/porters at reception :Fathi and Hatem (unfortunately I do not recall their names). These three staff members are extremely heard working,they never spare a chance to make things easier for you.the are genuinly considerate ,always anticipating everyone's needs and display warmth and positive attitude. A soncere thank you to three of them and I really hope they will get recognise for the great heard work they are doing! All my colleges and family that stay at the hotel are equally WoWed by them every time . It is certainlely heard to be in a costomer service job and have constantly a great performance,but I felt obligated here after so many years staying at the hotel for over 90 times to write a review and thank them for all the heart sweat and smiles they are putting in order to make our stay as comfortable as it is.

Very nice view of the sea. Good hotel. Enjoyed three nights stay on a business trip. Room size is reasonable. Hotel is clean. Good AC. Friendly staff. Hotel is about 30 minutes away from airport. Food is average, not great but not bad.

I have a soft spot for Tunisia. The country and their people have endured adversity for some time now and it is encouraging to see that it is starting to get back on track. Local hotels usually surprise you for their high value for money. You pay 3-4 stars price for 4-5 stars standards and that is always a plus. This hotel is classic in style with a Roman theme according to his historical sight as a Roman settlement. It is grand from the lobby to the marble throughout, large rooms, firm bed, quiet for a good night sleep, good materials, etc. Breakfast is really good with lots of local delicacies which is also a plus. The service is as usual in the area very polite and correct. All in all, thumbs up!!

A hotel located away from the city centre and nearer to the beach offers lovely views of the city and sea. The lovely weather allowed us to enjoy our time in the swimming pool which was nice although their jacuzzi is not currently working and by the looks of it , it won't be bubbling up any time soon.. At first sight, their bathroom was not at any 5* standards as you can see stains on the floor as shown in the picture which shows that it is not well maintained. The bathtub was also not at its cleanest state and the hotel should indeed renovate it into looking cleaner and modern . I recommend this hotel for people like me who only stayed two nights and aren't looking for the most luxurious 5* hotels as this for me did not represent one at all. I only had food there during breakfast and yes it was pretty nice with a vast amount of choice , even pizza ! Although this may have been seen as a go to luxurious 5* hotel in the past, I'm afraid it's not the case anymore and changes need to happen.

For business reasons I have to be in Tunis in the last few years , and everytime I went there I always stayed in the Golden Turnip Hotel . Its very classy very clean and super nice view from any room's balcony . The restaurant is nice so is the pool . The only thing that I can complaint is the location , its a bit further from downtown and require taxi to go out , but its worth it .

The hotel is not new, though the rooms are clean and well maintained. located in the best area (El Marsa) , away from city center but I loved the area. no much food options but it was clean and tasety. I recommend the spa.
