Really nice place to celebrate our anniversary, rooms very comfortable and clean, the food delicious and also the staff very kind !! Highly recommended it. The hotel location is near to the main highway.

I have just left Alea after the most relaxing 5 days ever. The staff are so friendly and helpful. It's clean and the food was delicious! The hotel has kayaks and snorkel gear readily available when ever you would like. There are 2 dive places with in walking distance. I would recommend this place to anyone I knew going to the area.

Great staff, great location, great food, big clean modern room. Nextcto a Soneta on the beach. Beatiful fun gacuzi .I will come back and tell other about this hotel. Loved staying at the alea tulum hotel.

The hotel is amazing, the room I chose was great. It is perfect if you want to stay away from the crowd, as the city center is about 15min away via cab. The food at the restaurant was great as well. The staff was always friendly and available to help us with any request. In particular, Francisco went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great, and to help us with transportation and tips on Tulum. Truly a great experience!

The rooms of this hotel are really nice and clean. Our room was on the 2md floor and had a great view of the beach. Breakfasts and the food were pretty good at their restaurant. And the Casa cenote is just across the street. Downside was the seaweed on the beach and the distance from the downtown and other restaurants.

Would have been great but lost power 4 of the 5 days we were there. Staff was awesome, food great, but infrastructure needs work. The weather was great and the sunshine amazing. We were expecting a little more upscale, but I guess you have to roll with it.

The hotel is beautiful, cozy, extremely clean and everybody is always kind and eager to fulfill whatever you need. It was amazing. Thanks to all the staff. The food was better than expected. Delicious. Every single detail was supervised. Excellent hotel if you want to relax and enjoy Tulum.

I love that feeling when you arrive some place late at night and you are not quite sure what the landscape looks like. In the morning, in anticipation, you open the curtains to discover the wonders. Alea Tulum satisfies this anticipation with it's beautiful accommodation on a lovely beach. Breakfast was delicious, I tried to diversify my ordering but had to start with the avocado smoothie bowl every day, it was too good to pass up. The beach is quiet, perfect for reading and sunbathing. The pool is narrow, but perfect for just dipping your feet or quickly jumping in to cool off. Oh and the doc with its two hammocks is lovely for bird watching and sipping on a cocktail while taking in the breeze, or entering the ocean. The hotel is about a 1-2 minute walk from a nearby cenote. We got flippers and masks from the hotel. While we did go explore the main stretch in the Tulum town center and passed the other hotels along the way, we were really glad to be staying in a much quieter and quaint location. We considered asking for a standing annual reservation...honestly we just might.

If you are looking for a hotel tucked away enough to be serene while still close to major attractions I cannot recommend this highly enough. The design of this hotel is perfect in that every room seems to have an amazing view and there was always a selection of sunny and shady spots to lounge without it being a sprawling resort. The restaurant was great (breakfast included is coffee/tea/juice an appetizer and entree. lunch/dinner/drinks not included but wonderful and very reasonably priced.) A quick cab into town is 350 pesos. There is also a cute aboveground cenote (called casa cenote or cenote manatí) across the street. The gym was a treadmill, elliptical and free weights which I didn't have any issues with. Massage offered in the gym or beach for additional cost. The only thing unexpected was that the airport transportation was an additional $99 usd each way but this felt completely worth it to have someone find us at the airport. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and kind and my partner said the only problem with the hotel was making him never want to leave it.

We stayed just one night in this boutique hotel but wish it had been more. Lots of amenities, including use of beach toys (kayaks, snorkeling gear, etc.) on their beautiful beach. The staff were both plentiful and helpful. I speak some Spanish, which made it easier, but you could easily get by with only English. I was surprised that with such a small clientele (only 17 rooms, total) that the hotel would have a full service restaurant, but it did. There was even a live jazz trio the night we were there. The location is well north of Tulum, so a little out of the way. We had our own car. The hotel was easy to find and the road was dirt, but well maintained. Perhaps it has been heavily improved since some of the earlier posts here, but we had no trouble at all. Ocean views were outstanding. We made it a point to watch the sun come up each day of our trip, and it was worth doing here, for sure. The beach is sandy but as soon as you step in the water, the surface is all rocky and hard on the feet. So not a place you'll do any boogy boarding or body surfing. Ouch. There is a long pier out into the sea with steps leading down into the water. We snorkeled from there. The water was still very shallow, not even waist deep, but you could easily snorkel and head out deeper if you wanted. We saw a lot of pretty fish, though nothing like a tourist spot such as Molokini off Maui. You could also get a massage at the end of the pier with the ocean surrounding. Our room was on the ground floor, and was a "swim up" room. The small pool led directly to our patio. The pool was sufficient for cooling down and a little swimming, but not large enough to feel spacious. We would describe the room as "European Modern". Classy and upscale. Sufficient outlets for devices. Comfortable bed. Food at the restaurant was excellent. Good service, and a fairly broad selection for such a small hotel. The price was a little higher than the rest of our trip to the Yucatan, but we tremendously enjoyed our stay and would recommend a longer stay to fully enjoy this beautiful place.
