A 125-year-old Japanese farmhouse, rented as a whole house for your group alone.

Built in 1901 and quietly renovated, cocochiyo BASE sits among the rice fields of Ano-cho in Tsu, Mie - 28 minutes from Suzuka Circuit, 48 minutes from Ise Grand Shrine and about 70 minutes from Nagoya. Tatami rooms open onto a wooden engawa veranda that runs the length of the house and looks out over the garden.

SLEEPING (up to 10 guests)
- Bedroom 1: two double beds and one single bed
- Bedroom 2: one double bed and two single beds, linens provided
- Living room: two twin-size folding futons for larger groups

INSIDE
Full kitchen with induction hob, microwave, electric kettle, fridge, coffee gear, a popcorn maker, cookware and tableware. Washer and dryer with detergent provided. A 40-inch smart TV plus a projector and a theatre space. Air conditioning and heating. One bathroom with a walk-in shower (no bathtub); towels, hair dryer, soap and shampoo provided. Free Wi-Fi throughout.

OUTSIDE
Two barbecue grills - a smoker type and a Japanese shichirin - with grill plates, tongs, gloves and a gas torch, plus outdoor chairs, tables and a tarp. Bring charcoal and food; everything else is here. Barbecue is free, we only ask that you tell us in advance. Eight cars park free on site with no reservation needed, and you can leave the golf bags in the boot: seven courses lie within 35 minutes.

FOR FAMILIES
A low floor-mattress bed, a baby bath mat, a shower head that can be set low, nappy bags, a low dining chair with cushions, toys, picture books, origami, colouring, board games and badminton. A children's room with a whiteboard and TV.

Self check-in from 15:00 at the entrance tablet; check-out is 10:00. The host family lives next door behind one wall, so help is close by without being underfoot. The house is entirely non-smoking, pets are not allowed, and quiet hours run from 21:00 to 07:00 - this is a residential neighbourhood.
