Tsaghkadzor Marriott Hotel

Tsaghkadzor is an interesting village up in the mountains. It takes about an hour to get to the Marriott from the airport in Yerevan along a main road. The hotel is a 3 minute drive / 15 minutes walk from the start of the chair lift (and the hotel has a complementary shuttle to get you there and back). The village itself is a 5 minutes walk up hill right opposite the Marriott. In the village there are a couple of restaurants (only 2 were open when we went at the beginning of March), some nice statues, a zip line (which wasn't open when we were there), a museum on the Orbeli brothers - a good history lesson if you can read/speak Armenian/Russian. We were lucky to find someone who spoke French and explain the history to us. Anyway, back to the hotel. The pros: - Large modern hotel with all the mod cons. - Bar, shooting range, tennis in summer - Happy to change feather pillows for foam in the middle of the night (although it took half an hour to do so) - The spa. The pool and hot tub are perfect for relaxing after a long day on the slopes - The massage was 7/10. - Breakfast spread was hot and cold with Armenian local bread, cheese and borek - Service is really good in the bar and restaurant - The lounge and restaurant next door is also good. Happy catering for a large group. We had some fun in there with the DJ and shisha as well. The cons - The heating is on full blast. Which sounds lovely when its freezing outside, but actually its just too much. You end up having to take all your layers off and even in a T-shirt its boiling. - The ventilation doesn't work meaning the hotel stinks of smoke. Even the smoking bar is open to the entrance and lobby, so as soon as you walk in the smell hits you. Armenians smoke everywhere. All my clothes now smell of smoke even though none of our group smoke. - They don't provide transfers from the airport, meaning you have to haggle your way through the taxi hawkers when you land in Yerevan. - There are no coat hooks at the entrance to the rooms. Ok, so the wardrobe is there, but we had a huge space right next to our door where we would end up dumping boots, coats, gloves, scarves etc. Why not put hooks up where there is plenty of room? The hammam was too expensive, especially when you're sharing the room with other guests. No privacy. No sign put on the door during treatment or anything. Would we go back? Yes.

Beautiful hotel. Amazing location. Centrally located. Nice and clean rooms. Polite staff. The only 5 star in the area. Has a casino as well. The city needs more happening places. It's a bit boring for a solo traveller.

Marriott hotel Tsakhkadzor.... Beautiful hotel. Picturesque amidst the mountain of snow..lovely location. Close access to the ski resort. Hotel provides frequent shuttle service. Staff were friendly but few could not speak English. Rooms were spacious, clean and neat. View was stunning as peals of snow drops on us. The hotel accepts credit cards and local currency. They don't accept dollars but can be exchanged at the reception. Undoubtedly, a perfect stay especially during winter.

Was at the place for two days in Feb 2017. Absolutely great property. Views from the hotel are stunning. Since the time I went there was in mid-winter, there was plenty of snow to go around. Hotel had enough activity indoors for teens (games, arcade) and kids (indoor play arena). Restaurant serves excellent food. Stick to the local Armenian fare. You can't go wrong. Try the restaurants in the area. Armenian food, Fruit Vodka, Armenian wine - you can't go wrong. Rooms are more than generous with outstanding views. Well heated for the winter months. Bathrooms are spacious. Rooms are serviced well. Clean rooms. Remember to change the language on the TV if you plan on watching in English. Would certainly go back. I was down there on Business. But this is a great property for families of all sizes.

If your caught in two minds whether to book into this hotel or not and that is why you are reading these reviews you can stop reading now and start booking. You will experience a fully relaxing break, physically and mentally you'll be rested and refreshed. Great decor, which feels luxurious and at the same time homely. Tremendous staff, who are always willing to help and greet you with a friendly smile. Wonderful food and skilled barmen will prepare anything to fit your mood. You can see the staff are extremely well trained and the engagement team do an excellent job of maintaining these standards. I Stayed in the Marriott Tsaghkadzor for two nights and my only regret is that I wasn't snowed in and had to stay longer. 100% I will be returning, sooner rather than later. I'll see you there.

I have stayed in many Marriotts across the world, but my favorite one is in the ski resort of Armenia Tsaghkadzor. This hotel has very high service standards, furniture and the rooms are fresh and clean, staff is very helpful, food is amazing, fast check in etc.... Also want to mention that there is a shooting range in the 1st floor where you can try shooting from real gun. Also it is worth mentioning that Marriott Tsaghkadzor has a big beautiful pool with Turkish and Finnish saunas!!!

If you are a person who values comfort and good service, you surely need to be in this hotel! It's one of the professional branches of Marriott! The cleanness, the food, the service, the location everything is up to high here. We spent our best days enjoying tsaghkadzor's beauty in this incredible hotel. Thank you guys for the service you done for us!

We visited last year and stayed over for two nights as a part of our honey moon. we had one of the deluxe rooms with great view and balcony. everything was great. great room service and mini bar. great facilities, the breakfast was mind blowing we found everything we craved and more on the table. they had an Italian restaurant with a beautiful terrace, every meal we had there was great. It had a tea house with great selection of local and imported teas and deserts. two bars and lounges for smokers and non-smokers both which served great cocktails and appetizers. it had a pool and gym which we didn't have time to use. And the most amazing thing we discovered was that they had a shooting ground with real guns, it was a little expensive but well worth it.

Hotel is not bad in general, but here some facts that show that it is not a high standard hotel but just an overage one, packed in a nice sounding Marriott name: building is tuned to be a hotel as it was initially built as a pension, several stairs are to be done to reach the elevator, elevator is with awful design and has no mirror as we all use to see in elevators, no one helped to carry laguage to room, no sound proof doors and windows, no availability to open door a little, no ear sticks with cotton in the room, no tooth brush in the room, instead they offer to sell it with about 6 EUR. bad sleeping as blanket is too thick and it is hot under it but cold without it poor mini bar, law quality instant coffee packs in the room, poor breakfast - everything is cheap and not tasty, pitted olives of bad quality, no espresso served, only americano, with awful taste, no person existing at the omelet station, polite, but not dully trained stuff, overpriced services and restaurant, bar obligation to sign when coming into pool as well when going out, stuff could not explain why guest must sign for this no covered parking which means with heavy snowfalls in Tsakhkadzor you'll need to clean car about half an hour, not client oriented, No atmosphere of hospitality and care !!!

Excellent hotel, staff and facilities. They did not spare efforts to organise our event at the best. The food was excellent. Everything went on smoothly without extra reminder to staff involved. The rooms are top notch. There is plethora of leisure activities one can enjoy.
