Great location, great staff, great service
The Grande Albergo Nazionale in Bari is in a great location. The room decor was light blue, bright and uplifting and had a beautiful view of the Adriatic Sea.
The hotel was much more dated than I expected judging by the 5-star rating and reviews. The rooms felt a little cheesy and overly-vintage/70's, and the hotel in general is n need of some updating. It's one of the best-located hotels in the area, right on the water and walkable to lots of bars, restaurants and shopping. It's also not too far from the airport, which is why we chose to stay in Bari on the last night of our Italy trip.
