I’ve stayed at many many Timber Creek properties, and the issues are pretty much universal. Frankly, if it weren’t for the location, i would never stay there. The price used to also be a plus, but the price hikes for midweek stays over previous years have caused me to mostly stay at chain hotels in Truckee. This time I had friends with me who wanted to be in the village, so we paid the price. The issues, which are fundamental to a comfortable night of sleep, are:1. The thermostat does not control the room temperature. It was too hot, and we had to have the window open all night and continually modulate it.2. The hot water in the shower pulses to scalding repeatedly, which is extremely painful and dangerous.3. No instructions on how to operate the TV, thermostat, or other appliance.4. No welcome book of hotel or local amenities.5. No provision to remain in the parking space the day after out night stay so that we can ski without the hassle of parking, which is why we are staying at Timber Creek to begin with (a set of bogus excuses are always given about maids using the space, but we know we are just being lied to, which makes it worse. I came by many times, nobody ever used the space)6. Blackout curtains are broken and inadequate.
