The house is newly built (+) but not finished (-) or adequately furnished (-).
Pros:
-Allows dogs (See below)
-Situated on the golf course. Great for x-country skiing and playing with pups
-New, clean hot tub
-Access to ski valet (See below)
-Wine fridge
-Generally clean
-Decent to nice furniture
-Big TVs
Cons:
-No welcome binder, which should detail how to operate fireplaces and, most importantly, the flues. I sure hope those carbon monoxide detectors work.
-The binder should also cover the Northstar association amenities like the shuttle service. Luckily one of us happened to know about it.
-No coffee pot despite being one of the amenities and repeated attempts for them to provide us with one
-Garage clearance is low. Neither a sedan with a Thule box nor a Jeep with a roof rack and ski attachments would fit.
-White carpet (really, with dogs?! it's already soiled)
-Deck was not shoveled (block of ice) so we couldn't use the grill
-One of the showers was leaking big time and the hot water didn't work
-Trash left outside and in one of the rooms
-No scrubber to wash dishes with
-None of the basics to cook with, eg, salt, pepper, etc.
-No salt or sand for walkways. The ground-level path was dangerously icy
-No key for the upstairs gas fireplace
-Broken blind
-Towel bar ripped off in the upstairs bathroom
-Window leaking
-Parts of the outside of the house are not finished, eg, bare wires for where an outdoor light will go
-Awful medical-grade LED white lighting (5000k bulbs) throughout
Vacasa, the host, was easy to contact and dutifully took down our issues but never addressed any of them despite repeated attempts. Their motto of "Our customer success team is ready to make sure you have the best vacation." is lip service. Also, don't opt for the text service when you call them- they'll won't get back to you. It's like talking with a black hole.
