Right off the bat, the check in was horrible. The counter guy said he would not honor the rate we had reserved the room with because the hotel was full and we had reserved with a discount rate. I asked to talk to the manager, he said he was the manager. I asked to talk to the owner. He said he was the owner. He then said we were dishonest and trying to cheat him by using this rate. The town hotels were full due to a big shooting event at the Whittington center, so we took the room with its exorbitant rate for the night. I called customer service and was told that if I filed a formal complaint, the owner/manager/abusive front desk guy could cancel my reservation. So I had to wait until we checked out. Our room smelled like stinky feet and cigarette smoke. I had to go buy an air freshener. I watched the house keepers the next morning and they swept out the carpet, not vacuumed. This would explain part of the smell. The beds were 1940's crunchy spring mattresses. Not comfortable. Breakfast was a broken waffle maker, cold cereal and powdered eggs. Those who came later in the morning didn't get much. The bottom of the pool had some weird slimy stuff on it. Eww, I could not wash my feet fast enough. I have stayed at really horrible hotels before, but this one takes the prize. I would not recommend staying here.
Very Clean. Nice customer service. The breakfast was complete with hot and cold items. No elevator so if you can't do steps, keep that in mind. Easy location right off I40. Rooms are very nice size too.
The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was just OK. Staff was helpful. As Quality Inns go this one needs a little help. There is no elevator and in the alcove at the top of the stairs there was furniture stacked up for some reason; not really an appealing ambiance.
Our stay here was last minute too tired to keep driving at about 0140. Staff here were nice especially the housekeeping ladies. Check out was at 1100. Didn't make it to the pool or breakfast cause we were too tired.
My grandson and I were traveling through on our way to Denver. This hotel is in the perfect location. It's right off the interstate. We were hungry. McDonald's is right across the street. Front desk employee was extremely friendly. Beds were comfortable enough. We arrived to late for the grandson to check out the pool. They have a continental breakfast. Has waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal and other breakfast items. Well stocked. I will stay here again when traveling through.
This Quality Inn has obviously been recently remodeled. My accommodations were fine, but as the motel was completely full there was a major lack of parking. The staff was hard to find; no one actually manned the desk -- you had to ring a bell to summon someone.
We didn't want to tent camp when picking up a scout in the evening (we knew he would probably need a good shower), and didn't want to drive back to Denver late at night. This was a nice place to stay. The young man who checked us in was cheerful and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. And it was very convenient for getting to Philmont Scout Ranch and then back up to Denver.
We needed a place to sleep as the sun went down & after driving all day to get to Albuquerque. This was the perfect stopping point! Lobby was clean. Rooms were quiet. Beds were comfortable & complimentary breakfast was the perfect way to start the day. There's even an inside pool & jacuzzi open until 11pm. So glad we found this place!
Pretty terrible place. I would recommend that you find just about anywhere else, even if you have to sleep in your car. First, they would not honor the price that we found on the internet. We had driven over 12 hours and just looking for a place to spend the night, then head North on I-25. I suspect the sheets had not been changed. The drink vending machine had no drinks. When I asked about the drink machine, the young lady at the desk said that the owners don't keep it filled because it is too much trouble. The place lost power as we were getting ready to leave. We will never stay there again.
We travel through this area once or twice a year and decided to try this Quality Inn. The problems started at check-in. The lady was really nice but she added a "Safe Charge" automatically to our bill and I had to ask her to take it off. Strike one... She directed us to the stairs to get to the second floor and mentioned no elevator, and we never saw an elevator. A problem considering the cost, but not a strike against them. The room (Room 212) was average with a queen sized bed, it was clean and everything seemed to work. Then around bedtime a horrible noise came from the room next door. It was very loud and we worried that the wall heating/air unit was malfunctioning and the noise would keep us awake. It stopped after 10-15 minutes and never happened again. It was disconcerting but it stopped. Strike two... Then just after midnight the telephone beeped and the red light came on showing a room message. What??? It beeped every minute or so. I called the front desk and she said that there was no message but maybe another room was leaving a message for us. Not a chance! It did not stop beeping. I unplugged the telephone and it stopped, then plugged it back in in the morning before we left. Strike three. Breakfast was average for a Quality Inn. We are an early 70s couple that doesn't ask for anything special but we pay attention to what we receive.
