So we are on a road trip we flew into Treviso airport on the 'if you want to sit together you'll have to pay extra airline..... Hired a car n stopped the night in Treviso. Now we have explored Italy a lot but only ever flown in or out of Treviso so it was due a visit. Now the hotel is located near the station after finding it easily enough 1st thing was to drop the bags n park the car. Local parking is €1.50 an hour or free parking is a short drive away. We plumped for the free parking and armed with a map found it parked it n walked back even finding a short cut. Now the hotel. It is furnished in a classic period design with old pictures proper furnishings rather than modern tack. Check in was a breeze we arrived 10.30 am and although our room wasn't ready they took our bags. We ventured off out into the walled town. On our return the room was a good size cracking beds with excellent mattresses and a decent bathroom with bath n shower. Slept very well through out the night n wasn't disturbed by other guests or traffic noise. Breakfast was a veritable feast bread cakes yoghurt juices hot n cold food meats cheeses n pancakes cereals. Just the job.... After a hearty breakfast we checked outhe as easily as we checked in n left. Well happy. One point the only downside was the bedroom light on a sensor was tooooo bright.
Seven of us have just returned from a weekend rugby trip to Treviso, we stayed at the Continental and we were all delighted with the hotel. Firstly the location is perfect for visiting the city, it's only about 200 meters from the station where you can catch regular trains to Venice, Verona and beyond. Secondly, the hotel is charming, very old and unmodernised,(but still has all the things you expect in the 21st century) it feels so welcoming when you arrive, the staff are all very friendly and polite, the rooms are very clean and plenty big enough for two people. The breakfast was simple, very fresh and tasty and very nicely presented with plenty of choices to suit all of us. It was my second visit to this beautiful city, I hope to return again, and this hotel will be where I will be staying.
With years of travelling on my back, I’d dare praise this hotel as one of the most beautiful I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. The elegant and refined environment deliciously blends classic and vintage style. Undoubtedly the pearl of the hotel is its golden lavish bar, which becomes literally awe-inspiring once the notes of the piano start spreading across the room, finally reaching the lobby. One of the things I appreciate the most when travelling is the kindness showed by the staff at the moment of the arrival and, of course, during the stay. Therefore, I feel like it is my duty - and a sign of gratefulness towards Hotel Continental’s staff - to underline the particular easiness I felt dealing with them. They were all extremely amiable and efficient: from the capable people behind the concierge desk, to those who took my luggage directly to my room and showed always willingness to helping me in case of necessity.
We had an early flight from Treviso after spending the day in Venice. We took the direct bus from Plaza Roma which was easy and cheap. We hopped bus #6 to get to and from the hotel. A really nice lady at information recommended this hotel as opposed to right at the airport as it is an easy walk to restaurants. There are several pub style restaurants within a block but we walked to the old section of town and ate there. The check in was fine, the room was clean.
Our party of four seasoned travellers stayed in two rooms for four nights in October. The rooms were sufficiently large and clean. The bathroom was well-appointed with a good shower. Breakfast was plentiful although basic. The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful, except for a curious unwillingness to replenish the scrambled eggs. The room renovators mercifully didn't start work until about 0800 and finished by about 1700. The hotel is a literal five minute walk from the train station for people of a certain age tugging luggage. Treviso is an exquisite little town with an extraordinary number of small speciality shops tucked along narrow winding streets leading to small piazzas. It has also retained the prettiness of its waterways and waterwheels. The nearby small but exceptional Pizzeria de Pasqualino tucked away in a nondescript building in a laneway is ideal for very well priced Italian food in a restaurant patronised mainly by local people. The only negative about the hotel is the rude and arrogant male at reception about whom others have written but who somehow keeps his job. All the other staff were friendly and efficient.
Great location, close to railway station and only 3 stops from Venice. However, there was renovation work going on at the 6th floor when we arrived, very tired after an early flight. We were given a room on 5th floor and the noise was horrendous. We were moved when we complained but it begs the question why give us that room if there were others available on lower floors? The room was clean, bed comfortable and the shower was fabulous. There were complimentary toiletries and a mini bar which was weirdly not replenished. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room which was disappointing and the TV was all Italian channels. The one member of staff on reception was really miserable. He couldn't even be bothered to look up when we walked in or out but the lady who cleaned the rooms was very pleasant. The breakfast was adequate, fresh coffee & hot chocolate available and eggs, ham, cereal, toast, pastries, pancakes, fresh fruit, tinned fruits & yogurt. The breakfast room is open 7am -11am which was nice. All in all its a nice hotel, perfectly situated for a trip to Venice (approx €13.60 return total for two adults) but i would not call it 4 star. There's a nice bar across the road called the Celtic Bar where the drinks are very reasonably priced if you want something more lively than the hotel bar.
Fantastic location Hotel build in the 70s or 60s gas keeper the staff since and never renewed besides flat screen tv Just great hotel for 1 night or even 2 bifgts stopover Too bad that the city has so many great places to visit
As a couple visiting Treviso on family business we found the Hotel Continental suited all of our needs. There is a nice cafe close by for luncheon's and a Celtic pub a few doors down that has a great atmosphere. The Treviso Centrale train station is within walking distance, or for just a few euro's the number 6 bus will take you from the front of the airport to the train station (near the hotel)
Other reviews tell the story...great location for train and railway stations. Easy stroll into city centre with lots of shops, restaurants etc. Easy also had one reception staff not as welcoming as the others, but overall the hotel was good for the price paid.
The positive - location was good. Very near railway station and just a short walk to Treviso Centro. The breakfast wasn't bad at all. The room has the basic facilities that are required - with good powerful air-conditioning! Overall however, the hotel was a little old and run-down. And with just a place for breakfast and no dining places, also hardly any porter service, i don't think it should be labelled a 4-star hotel. Maybe just 3-star. The receptionists were quite courteous but not seemingly friendly. It could have a bit more personal touch.
