Lake Como Week-Long Stay
We stayed at this gorgeous Vrbo villa with breathtaking views of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains.
The spacious, three-floor home with floor to ceiling windows boasting views everywhere, was light and bright with private gardens and a swimming pool, comfortably accommodating our family of six adults.
Its perfect location allowed us to walk to nearby amenities such as a boat rental site, water taxi, hiking trails, grocery store, wine store, restaurants, and patisseries. Our rental car made trips to other restaurants and Milan easy.
Despite the wonderful aspects, we encountered some issues. The washing machine was inoperable due to a circuit breaker, forcing us to do laundry by hand. The host's instructions to locate and flip switches were unclear, suggesting they should be properly marked for future guests.
More critically, there were no oven mitts or hot pads in the kitchen, resulting in my daughter burning her hand on a pot handle. This oversight led to a pot being dropped and a burn mark on the counter. This Vrbo needs to have oven mitts and hot pads.
We attempted to contact the host, but she was unresponsive, removing communication options from the Vrbo site and not accepting phone calls. Instead, Vrbo informed us we would be charged for the counter damage.
While these issues were disappointing, I hope the property owner addresses them, as to not penalize this lovely villa. Otherwise, the villa is a ten.
