While a bit off the beaten path, this met all our needs. The staff went so far beyond excellent service. We had a problem that needed police intervention. They sent a staff member to drive us to the police station, acted as interpreter, and then drove us to the train station.

A Very Hospitable Hotel

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was nice with a breakfast consisting of Sicilian baked goods, coffee and brought in from a local bakery. We also had a small private terrace. Parking was secure and easy. We participated in an ecotour to see Mt. Etna. The tour picked us up at the hotel, which was very convenient.

The Heart of Sicily

Exploring the Mt Etna area was a treat and after a full day, the Royal View provided a welcoming environment for us to treasure the day. The hotel is immaculate and the rooms are very spacious. We were on the ground floor in a 1BR queen with a separate living room, small fridge and a patio with table & chairs. The floors were beautiful and the room was quiet and very comfortable, especially since we could leave the patio doors open in the bedroom for refreshing air. (They have A/C but it was early November so not used.). The heater worked great. The owner and his son were so helpful, and everyone in the town of Trecastagni made us feel like we were in the heart of Sicily.

A Royal Treat

The area from Viagrande to Trecastagni was a unique experience and, comparing the Royal View with other properties in the area, it ranks extremely high—a real treat. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. The Royal View is not near the town center or any restaurants and the breakfast is in town (they will drive you) so it would be a bit difficult without a car. Regarding the number of guests, there is some discrepancy between the internet and the hotel, so if you book for more than one person, double-check that number in the final online commitment.

Very good apartment

We were greeted by the host and his father, both very friendly. Private parking was good. The apartment was spacious, very clean and very comfortable. There was a private balcony with a table and chairs. Breakfast was in a local patisserie and very good. We would definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed at the beautiful rental home nearby the hotel which is run by the family. Each bedroom was large and comfortable, there was a decent size living room with cable television, a rooftop balcony with views of the sea, and private parking within the grounds. Upon arrival, we were also provided with stocked supplies of cookies, biscuits, milk, bread, cheese, juice, and water which was a nice surprise, as well as numerous towels and soap. The father also stopped by to check-in to ensure all was going well and he was there to help us check-out when we were leaving. We had a wonderful stay!

Lovely hotel handy for Mount Etna

We stayed in the separate apartment which was very spacious and separate rooms for all the family and useful cooking facilities. A variety of breakfast options were provided and the staff were extremely helpful. The hotel also provided a voucher which gave us free lunch at the top of Mount Etna and the children had great fun in the snow at the top. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Etna Royal View

The hotel service is a difficult one to review as from my experience it didn't feel like a hotel. Partly, this may have been due to it being out of season. It's more of an apartment block to me, very nice still but there was never really anybody around and as a result we felt a little but cut off and isolated. Hotel Condition - Almost perfect. It's brand new. Room cleanliness - 5 star, perfect. Everything felt totally new. Room comfort - 4 star. Very comfortable. Bed was good, pillows were very comfortable. Neighbourhood - 3 star. Nothing wrong with where we stayed, but i think a car is essential. Luckily we hired one. The nearest village is a 30/40 minute walk away, or a 5-10 minute drive. A sat-nav is a must. The nearest village to us was 'Viagrande' and to be honest, there isn't much there, other than a supermarket (which was excellent and very useful), a pharmacy, a bakery, a couple of bars, a church, a small park and a takeaway. We got two pizzas from the takeaway on our last night and i have to say, they were unbelievable. Cooked in a proper wood fire oven. The takeaway appeared to just be called 'Pizzeria Take Away'. It's a very small place. The address is c, Via della Regione, 39, 95037 San Giovanni La Punta CT, Italy so it's worth putting that in your sat nav and having a trip down. It's also very well priced. Was €12 euros for two pizzas, and both were huge and amazing.

Check-in hat super einfach und unkompliziert geklappt. Das Personal war pünktlich und sehr nett. Die Anlage war sehr sauber und neuwertig. Autoabstellplatz war auch vorhanden. Bom hotel, numa pequena e agradavel cidade, entre o Etna e Catania, quarto limpo e espaçoso, banheiro limpo e espaçoso, o único problema é que nao tem vagas suficientes para estacionar no hotel e o meu carro dormiu uma noite na rua. O café da manha é bom !

Belle résidence bien située entre mer et volcan
