Uncomfortable bed. For the price the amenities were lacking
The Traverse Bay Inn is a quaint little motel with plenty of sleeping space, a small kitchen and pool which was great for the kids! Updates to the rooms would enhance the property; for example, the bathroom door lock stuck and my 8 year old had a difficult time getting out. The upstairs doorknob fell off several times and I actually had to ask a neighboring customer for a screwdriver to get back INTO the room. Due to the fact that housekeepers are only on property during business hours, made it difficult to receive any sort of personal service. An after-hours phone number was provided, but help was not readily accessible. This was also true for staples, such as toilet paper. Thankfully, a guest bathroom is kept unlocked and I was able to obtain a roll of toilet paper from that space after a phone call to the after-hours number. Overall, a simple and pleasant stay.
I arrived very late, and my key and receipt were waiting for me. The room was nice and broken up into two rooms. I was alone, but it would be nice for a small family. The carpet and furniture were all clean, but very worn. It didn't affect my stay, and was no big deal. The only downside was that the coffee maker, nor the pot hadn't been cleaned in some time, and so had to go without. I also wanted to tip the cleaning person (in spite of the nasty coffee maker), but the front desk said, "No cash due to COVID). (??). Ok...whatever. Turns out, she was the cleaning lady, and because I've been over tipping, she lost out on a $40 tip. Overall, it served my purpose for a 5 hour stay.
I love that it is like a small apartment. There is a small kitchen. Good location in Traverse City close to everything. Very quiet.
Very clean! Wish we could have checked in earlier.
I haven’t stayed anywhere in the TC area as I live about an hour away. I was surprised by how little of the street noise you hear. Even sitting by the pool you don’t notice it. *only has parking spaces for one vehicle per room* Traverse Bay Inn exceeded my expectations - great accommodations! Thank you a great weekend!
only one room has air condition. Bathroom is really small.
Excellent property and location. Staff was fabulous
Stag very helpful and friendly. Location is very convenient. Our room was clean and recently painted. The furniture and cabinets were a little worn and outdated. Overall though, a very good value for the price considering this IS Traverse City
So nice to have a refrigerator, stove, dishes! Real dishes! No paper plates and styrofoam cups to litter but the real thing. Just a great place to stay- we will be back!
Nice pool, clean rooms, great location! Friendly staff.
Just needed a place to stay for the night...it was clean and comfortable, would stay there again.
It is easy to travel to other sights because the hotel is located on route 31. We liked the large refrigerator, microwave and cleanliness of our room.
The complimentary bikes were nice. Relatively quiet considering it is located along a busy highway.
Nice hotel. It’s close to the water and not far from downtown. It was nice to have our group in one room.
This was the only place available when I had to quickly book a room for the next night. Glad I found it. Nice little kitchen, very comfortable bed and very quiet. I would stay there again.
Room was comfortable but could be cleaner . Carpet needs shampoo.
