Courtyard by Marriott Linz4.5 out of 5.0

Stayed overnight at this hotel conveniently located just outside the city centre of Linz, Austria.the hotel ,although usually rather fully booked due to the lack of international hotel chains, still manages to take good care of its guests. The modern hotel is about 15 minutes walking time to the very centre of Linz, has ample parking. Breakfast is excellent, although very busy when we staid.they do have a well-stocked pantry at very reasonable prices which comes convenient if you don't feel like eating in the restaurant.I had a chance to try the restaurant on an earlier visit and it was excellent with a comfortable outdoor garden if it's the right time of the year..too cold this time. Associates are welcoming friendly and helpful.don't expect much of an upgrade if you are Marriott elite as they have very few suites.I booked a superior room which was comfortable and modern and it comes with a fridge with a couple of free drinks.I received a typical Austrian sweet welcome gift as a returning guest which I found a very nice gesture.the bar is in a very trendy design. They also have a small gym.Definitely a place to return and recommended
We are elite gold members with Marriott and have stayed at many Marriott properties. This Courtyard was one of the worst. Reception was not very welcoming. Courtyard offers nothing to elite members. No perks for breakfast, only wifi. Front desk did give us a bag of crispy cheese sticks....wow. Our reservation was for a king bed. We walked into the room and saw 2 small beds. Then the second room which had 1 bed but the phone did not work. If we needed anything, we had to go to front desk. Parking price is outrageously high. Location not ideal to the center. It is a long walk to the center through some shady parts of town. One of the front desk girls never heard of Cesky Krumlov, really? The main reason we stayed at this property. Overall, not very happy with this hotel.
It is a classic business hotel, close to offices and other businesses. Not too far from the station either, but you need a taxi. Same to go to the historical center, otherwise it is around 30 minutes walk. The room was very big and renovated, nice bathroom as well. People working there were very nice. I was a bit disappointed to see the mini-bar empty, considering that, as a platinum member, they told me I could have used it for free. Anyway I find a bit cheap that the coffee from Nescafé was not free (even if I could take it thanks to my platinum card). Finally the internet connection was quite bad, and this should be fixed I think. I would stay here only if on business and with offices to visit nearby, not for personal holidays.
a very clean, quiet place, wonderful cooperative staff. high speed internet everywhere, walking distance to the city center and train station, very good breakfast and dinner. very nice outside seating area in a nice weather you can sit for hours
Cleanliness is excellent, reception staff very helpful, restaurant staff friendly. All in all, good throughout. Hotel is quite far from Linz City Centre and first 15 minutes-walk to the city is very quite and hence not enjoyable to walk. Linz city is nice with a lot of shops and restaurants.
The best information at check in: we have to pay for the internet. Why??? 100 Eur/night is not enough? The breakfast area is not enough big for the guests. Maximum for business with own internet i would recommend. Way too much money for this service.
After a looooong 12 hours drive, we finally managed to relax. Having arrived very late at night, went straight to bed. The room was clean , quiet, a little outdated (for my personal taste). I didn't like the paid wifi. Free for members and 2€/hour or 5€/day for the rest. I find paid wifi in 2017 very annoying. The hotel can generate revenue from other things but wifi. Didn't try breakfast (it wasn't in the room rate anyway).
The location is a bit more close to the industrial district, but still easy to reach any tourist sites. No supermarkets nearby the hotel. Clean and spacious rooms. Air con is working very good. Wi-Fi a bit overpriced!
I was in this hotel for a conference held in the building just on the back of the hotel. The rooms are pretty decent, but the position is not the best. Reaching the city centre will take a good 25 minutes of walking, at least. And there are no taxi close by, so you need to ask the reception every time you need one.
This property is fairly typical of a Courtyard Marriott. The rooms are a standard size, with all the expected amenities. The wi-fi was free and worked well. It's right by the Design Center, so very convenient if you are there for an event, less convenient if you want to be at the heart of town for sightseeing purposes (It's about 15 min. walk to the nearest pharmacy, store, cafe etc.) Also, if you are there for an event, you might want to request a room overlooking the street so as to make sure your fellow conference goers are not seeing you in the morning through the window. I would recommend to upgrade the curtains in the window to make them block light better as the early European sunrise would make the room quite bright by 5 in the morning. The staff at the check-in desk is very friendly and helpful, however, room service took a long time to arrive for an uncomplicated order. Additionally, the service in the restaurant below is slow and forgetful and prone to mix-ups. I wouldn't recommend the in-house restaurant unless you are very hungry and unwilling to walk downtown.
