The staff was so nice during this business trip stay, I hate to write anything negative at all but the room and the food. WOW, they were terrible. I was afraid to walk on the floor with bare feet, there was mold & something nasty in the bathroom sink. The "room service" was reheated frozen slop that cost 25 euros each. It was so unpalatable that I couldn't eat it. The breakfast was similar. It was basically raw eggs with spoiled fruits. Just not great. If I didn't have to stay in Toulon for work, I would never have stayed here but now that I have, I would never go back. *Staff was still super friendly and helpful*
I would like to say many many thanks for all team of hotel Holiday Inn Toulon Centre for your wonderful welcome me and for wonderful staying at your property))) so sunny and good I felt myself at swim pool. Very good restaurant! And I recommend breakfast! There are many different fruits))) thank you and see you next summer:)
Staff was very friendly. Room was clean, but a little small for a family of four. The breakfast was great. Parking was easy on the premises. A little 5 minutes stroll and you are in the centre of town.
A good hotel in Toulon, located just by the navy base. The beds are comfortable and there are different pillow thicknesses to choose from. The coffee in the room is actually really good. Unsecure wifi that is fast. Breakfast is good, and there's a small gym (one treadmill, one elliptical, one bike, a rower, and a small universal machine). Nice staff!
We had read some poor reviews re this hotel. Our experience was excellent. The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. The standard double room was spacious with good beds. The bathroom was well lit and had a good shower. Parking was on site and cost 7 euros a day. The air conditioning was fantastic as it was hot and our room was cool and comfortable. Breakfast had a reasonable variety of foods. The TV was excellent as it had a number of Chanel's in English other tan news. A short walk to the waterfront and main part of the city. In all a great stay and thank the staff who helped in every way.
Traveling outside of your native country is always a culture shock, but I did not realize that flexibility, competence, and respect are not pillars upon which the French Holiday Inn City Centre in Toulon was established. For whatever reason, the hotel does not have its restaurant open on the weekend, and we got back a little late from a long day, so we thought that ordering pizza and eating at the tables in the bar was a great plan; our mistake! Disclaimer: our party reserved three rooms for three separate nights AND we ordered drinks in the bar every night, including the night that we attempted to eat pizza. A staff member came roaring over to us 15 minutes after we started to eat, telling us that their hotel was "not a place for a picnic and that we had to order hotel food only in their establishment," even after telling us their restaurant wasn't open so they were either forgetful or moronic. We protested to the staff member, who promptly retrieved her manager and she stood by their "policy". All I'm saying is that when you make it impossible for a party to eat in your establishment by not opening your restaurant, especially when that party has paid 1000s of Euros towards your services, you've forfeited the right to kick them out for getting food on their own from another place. We told the staff that we would have loved to have eaten in their restaurant, but that was not possible. No apology for their inane policy, and absolutely no manners whatsoever. They were incredibly discourteous and flippant; I give them 1 Star for their Public Relations abilities and highly suggest a policy change or a seminar to learn the ways of the business world. I even saw where someone posted a review on June 23, 2017, about how they were forced to leave the bar area since they had brought in their own drink, and they did so because the bar and restaurant were CLOSED. Do not stay here unless you are willing to adhere to ruthless policies, no apologies for terrible business, and horrible eggs for breakfast.
Although being a platinum member, I haven't been asked if I want to have a room uprade upon check in. To make it worse, being back from dinner at 0015, bar and outside area closed, I sat down at the lobby with a colleague to have a last drink we brought with us. But the receptionist told us to leave the premissis because its against hotel policy. Sorry, but the hotel doesn't offer anything, not even a minibar in the room, but they asked us to leave. What is this? A joke? Even a Holiday Inn Express has a 24h bar. This is a no go for frequent hotel guest
Location is not bad but you need to walk 7 min to the center. Not much around Small swimming pool but with place where you can get tan or burn like myself. Buy sun protection cream in the pharmacy around the corner (for my was too late) Wifi is fast and free. Very very poor restaurant menu. Drinks are expensive It was a shame they had no flexibility with the check out time. We needed two hours extra but no way.. so we had to wait in the lobby. Bad point for management because hotel was not fully book and we are good customers. 4 rooms and a bill of more than 1200€ We were given the option to pay an extra night 140€ for this 2h extra per room!! So not an option
The Holiday Inn Toulon City Centre offers clean rooms with very kind staff at a fair price. The breakfast offers up scrambled eggs (so-so....they were runny), bacon, sausage, croissants, baguette, cereals and more. I stayed in a standard room and an executive room. Both were comfortable. The executive room is similar to the size of a standard hotel room in the States. Bathroom was a good size. Beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
Clean and comfortable Efficient friendly check in Breakfast okay - staff could be friendlier- but were efficient. Rooms ok - good TV channel selection Good showers and modern bathrooms Swimming pool was available - clean and tidy Outdoor seating was good and comfortable.
