We have stayed in many hotels in Toulon, generally overnight after taking the train from Paris. The hotel is very comfortable and located within a few minutes walk from the station. We had a warm welcome and the decor in the rooms made a change from the corporate sameness of the hotel chains. There is no restaurant but we enjoy the walk through the old city to the harbour side restaurants. Breakfast is available in the morning. Overall a very pleasant stay.
The hotel is central, in a rather quiet street. Each room is designed to represent a city, and each floor a continent. Rooms are simple but comfortable, and breakfast is good. Price is very reasonable. A good experience.
Clean rooms with good shower. Good size too for a budget hotel. Located quite close to the train station too and only a 5-10 minute walk from the port. The only issue o had was that there was no door on the bathroom or toilet area so make sure you're totally comfortable with whoever you're sharing a room with
After a long train journey from Barcelona to Toulon it was a relief to find the hotel so close to the station. The 24hr check in meant we were able to check in at the late hour in which we arrived. The lady on reception spoke good English and was very welcoming. The room we had was themed as an Oceania room. Not sure how except it was blue. The air con didn't work (but the window and shutters meant we were cool enough) and there was no toilet roll. Apart from that the room was suitable for an overnight stay. Overall, the location of the hotel is helpful after a long journey and the 10 minute walk to the harbour/port is pleasant. I believe breakfast should have been included to add more value for your money.
We stayed only one night, very comfortable hotel, great location, affordable price, very friendly and helpful staff and most important such a lovely decor. Enjoyable experience. I can easily recommend this place.
A smallish hotel, our room was simply but nicely furnished - more than adequate for a weekend (though I would have liked a hairdryer!). we had a modern metal four poster bed which was pretty. Not a lot of storage but fine for a short stay. Having an open plan en-suite was a little interesting but it had a powerful shower and plenty of hot water so no complaints from us. The walls must be on the thin side as the plumbing was noisy first thing (7.30-8.00 ish) each day - when others close by were using their facilities. The hotel was within 5 minutes walk of the railway station and 15 minutes down to the port, via the shops, so an excellent location. We would stay here again.
NIce small friendly 'no frills' hotel. Rooms are small and simply furnished and shower 'open plan' but clean and surprisingly quiet given the 'centre ville' location - one criticism not much storage if staying for more than a few days. Nice air con breakfast room, with adequate choice. Friendly staff who acted promptly to any requests. Excellent value for short stay, Stayed 4 nights in June, would use this hotel again. Good base, perfect for train station and easy walk to the port.
We stayed at this hotel for two nights over Easter whilst taking in a Rugby game at the Stade Mayol. The Hotel was booked as part of a Eurostar package covering travel and accommodation and I'll try and be objective in this report. First - the positives. Excellent location, just a few minutes walk from the station and a fairly short and pleasant walk to the towncentre, harbour front and stadium. The Hotel is clean and the staff friendly. It has free Internet and wi-fi access and good door security. Others who stayed in our party were generally impressed, however... The negatives. We were given one of the two "ensuite" rooms on the first floor next to the breakfast room. It is not ensuite - the toilet is next door, tiny and accessed through a door about 5'8" high. Not good for an over 6-footer seeking to use this thing in the middle of the night (The concussion is improving). The toilet is in full view of the breakfast room (so don't sleep "au naturel" unless you want to put the breakfasters off of their croissants) and we were assured that it was for our sole use (I doubted that). The breakfast clatter starts at about 5.45, so sleep after that is impossible. The sink did not drain and the water sounds like the Trevi fountain starting up. The "ping" of the Hotel access sensor is clearly heard, as is the snoring of the occupant next door, likewise people clatering on the uncarpeted floors and stairs. There is very limited storage in the room (and no hairdryer, although you can ask for one from reception). No tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast is fine, as long as you can grab a knife as there appear to be about 5 for each 20 guests. Likewise, the serving table is tiny so it is a bit of a free for all. Bread, cakes, jam, cereal, juice, cheese, coffee, limited choice of tea, and ham (as long as you nag for it) for about 8 euros. So, in summary. The hotel is fine as long as you do not stay on the first floor. Would we stay there again? Probably not, unless we could be guaranteed an ensuite room that is relatively quiet.
Enjoyed my stay here.. + Hotel was spotlessly clean, with a nice bathroom and comfortable bed. + Staff and cleaners friendly (if not the most useful..) + Ideal location to see Toulon, 2 minutes from the train station and right in the town center. - the lift was broke, and the stairs were the worst I've ever come across, and I was travelling with lots of luggage and staying on the 4th floor... the receptionist didn't really seem to care much or offer an apology, either. - Room was tiny, the bed took up about 80% of the floor space. I think we had an unlucky room though, we caught a glimpse of the neighbours' which looked really big. - Wi-Fi was OK but not the most reliable! McDonald's around the corner might be more useful.
Stayed in the celenya for one night before flying back to the UK early the next morning. arrived at hotel at 2pm but was told that room wouldn't be ready until 3. not a problem as we had a bottle of wine at oasis brasserie just down the road. checked in at 3 and was pleased with Paris themed room. Very compact but nicely presented. bathroom spotless. Had to ask for the code for the wifi and even then it didn't work. i even tried to tell the guy in the cafe that the hub would just need resetting but he said he didn't know how to do it. that was the only problem with the whole place. if you're not bothered about the wifi, fill yer boots.
