Beautiful setting, great hosts, clean house that felt bright and airy. We had a large rain just prior to our stay that caused the River to rise above the bridge. Host reached out right away and kept us informed frequently of status and progress. Bridge was passable just hours prior to our arrival but we had no issues thanks to her great communication. Highly recommend!

Amazing property that we had all to ourselves! Friendly farmers that let us pet and feed the cows and even gave us fresh vegetables from their garden. Water was high during our trip due to all of the rain but we still have a blast at the fire pit, in the water tubing, fishing and just roaming the farm. Even made a giant slip and slide out of the hillside for the kids. They have a basement full of tubes for use, wildlife everywhere and a fully stocked house. We saw bald eagles, skunks, deer and turkey. If you’re looking for seclusion and serenity you’ve found it. The owners were very helpful and easy to communicate with. Will definitely be back.

Just wonderful!
The house is well equipped. The surroundings are stunning. The house was clean and comfortable. There were puzzles for indoor entertainment. There are kayaks in the premise near the river (walking distance). There are also river tubes. Kayaking or river tubing can start directly from the property and end at a public access (15 minutes driving from property). There’s also a trail for hiking in the property (1 mile loop) but it’s pretty steep. We loved how peaceful it was. There is a slaughterhouse nearby that had excellent food essentials (eggs, amazing bacon and fresh meat). Bbq grill is right next to the dining table area which makes it very accessible. There is a deck adjacent to the main bedroom and living that has excellent views and a nice outdoor table. The hosts were great!

A slice of Country Paradise
What an absolutely beautiful piece of land. The views are breathtaking in all directions. The River wraps around for unlimited fishing spot choices. The farmhouse has everything you could possibly need bc the owners have thought of it all. It’s so well stocked down to bug spray and pads of notepaper and pens. We were so incredibly impressed with this property. The house was very comfortable (couches, beds etc.) We had a fire near the river, we fished, and the kids played in the water. We went for a hike which is just right out the front door. There was so much to do and explore. We didn’t know what to expect when we booked this property and boy were we pleasantly surprised. It was such a beautiful experience. We will definitely be back and agree with all the other reviews. I see why others have said they’ve been back several times. We highly recommend. Thank you to the owners for sharing this absolutely beautiful piece of land. Our stay was magical and one we will never forget.

Another wonderful getaway!
This was our 3rd or 4th stay at this lovely and comfortable farmhouse. Kathleen is an excellent host; kind, caring, responsive, and communicative. The property, both inside and out is beautiful, and we absolutely love the rescue steer residents. We enjoyed Happy Hour by the river and daily hikes in Shenandoah National Park and other local parks. We will happily return again.

GREAT stay, peaceful and clean!
We really enjoyed our stay at the house. The home was very nice, clean, and serviceable. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. The property is beautiful, I can see why some folks have chosen to just stay here on their vacations. I wish we had time to enjoy more and will hopefully come back again. One note that might be important to those traveling with older family or friends is the 2nd bathroom is in the lower basement level of the home and the second floor is 2 bedrooms and no bathroom. That caused us to have to do a bit of an adjustment on who stayed in what bedrooms but was not a huge deal. Overall a GREAT home with GREAT views and very clean! Thank you!

Beautiful Country Retreat
This property is on farmland with vast fields and a wide river. The house has many large windows and the view is quite spectacular. The house borders a picturesque barn and pasture, where two cows live. The house itself has very large rooms on the first floor and the master bedroom is huge. The kitchen is quite large as well. We enjoyed going down to the river and sitting and wading in the water. Unfortunately, the water level was very low when we were there (July) and we could not go out in the kayaks, tubes, etc. that are available at the house.
I will note that there is no bathroom on the second floor. Also, it would have been nice to have a small table in the kitchen to sit at and have coffee or snacks. When we were there satellite TV was not working on the TV in the family room, but I think that was just a temporary glitch.
Overall, we had a great time at the house. I would recommend it if you are looking for a country getaway.

A piece of heaven
Peace just descends on us all when we stay here. The home is beautiful, well-stocked, and very clean. We hardly want to leave the property when we're there. However, we did enjoy the "wilds" of Harper's Ferry and ventured into a couple of the small communities nearby. All worth it, but we're always happy to return to "heaven".

The pictures do not do this property justice. Its more beautiful than you can imagine. The river access was super easy. The house is clean and has EVERYTHING you could possibly need at your fingertips.
Kathleen and Jerry were very helpful and available to help with any little detail.
Their recommendation of Crabills meat market up the road was great and they even pointed us in the right direction for a restaurant in town.
The only thing we would have done differently about our stay was to spend more time on this property because it was the best spot around. Do yourself a favor and book a weekend to just hang at this beautiful property. So relaxing.

Shenandoah Paradise
Look no further for your stay in the Shenandoah mountains. This gorgeous spot was so peaceful and serene. All you could hear were birds chirping, the rustling wind and river. There are kayaks, a fire pit, outdoor picnic tables and hammocks. It is a birding, hiking, and kayaking paradise. The house itself is beautifully decorated and each room was large, tasteful, and comfortable. The master bedroom was huge, comfortable and elegant. It had everything we needed including a large bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room well lit. There was plenty of room for our clothing. The kitchen was well stocked with every condiment,,we could want. There were ample plates, silverware, cups, glasses, pots and pans. We thought we would go out to dinner more often, but we wound up eating in because the property was so gorgeous. We didn’t want to leave.
Enjoy your stay at this beautiful property. We hope to come back very soon.

42nd anniversary trip
As other have said, the pictures only hint at the beauty of this property. We had planned to do some tourist visits to the caverns, etc, but we realized we were already in our own private mountain park and it couldn't get any better than this. We hiked, fished in the river, and grilled steaks from Crabill's up the street. We watched the mountain range on all sides of the surrounding valley turn into fall. We identified more song birds in this spot than in any other rental. We watched as deer, wild turkey and cattle grazed in the field. The night sky was wonderful for star gazing, and I even saw a meteor. If we could live here, we would....
