Ixtapan de la Sal Marriott Hotel, Spa & Convention Center

Too make a long story short, this property does not deserve the Marriott tag, front desk personnel shouts for training, discretionary access to swimming pool and rude personnel all over the place. My Silver status (whatever that means) served for nothing to have a differentiated access or treatment - low priced, so its quality service.

If your endeavours have you travelling to this very small, quiet, yet pintoresque and beautiful little town, this is your best bet as a hotel. There are others in the place, but certainly this is one of the top contenders. Service is great, place is super clean. Amenities for all family members are available and the logistics of the place are great. Enough parking. Many activities for realxing and the SPA is superb. A business retreat would truly benefit for a place like this that is not so expensive but still located close to Mexico City. You will enjoy a great stay for sure!

My fiancé and I have stayed at Marriotts all over the world, however usually alone, as a couple vacationing. Our last visit we really didn’t pay much attention, but remember the spa to be amazing. This visit we came with my future in-laws and stepson, as with any family vacation you do tend to pay more attention making sure everything is perfect. When we checked in, there was a little confusion, and I must say it was a little disorganized. That being said, once we did pass the check-in phase the rest of the stay was amazing, with unparalleled customer service and attentiveness. Being that my fiancé is Mexican, I’m fairly used to the attentive nature of the Mexican people, we love vacationing in Mexico simply because of that. I would fervently recommend this Marriott, and as a Platinum Premier member of Marriott Rewards, it certainly stood up to any 5 star Saint Regis from a service perspective.

We had a two day off site meeting and team integration sessions at this Marriott Hotel. Meting rooms are adequate, food in restaurants is good with a good variety of Mexican dishes. The rooms are in excellent condition, and everything worked well. The gardens and pools are a great place to relax.

I was here for 4 days and here are my comments: PROS: - Quiet place. - 4 kid's playgrounds - 3 Swimming pools. Indoor's very hot as all should be. - Gokarts - Garden's view - Friendly staff CONS: - Poor internet speed. 10Mbps for the whole hotel is nasty, moreover when you pay $7 per day. - $9 parking fee per day - No fridge in rooms - No breakfast included - 'Jungle' gets flooded when it rains

When you as hotelier know that is high occupancy you get ready. This hotel is not ready. Check in had a long line (more than 15min), The staff was cold and didnt seemed happy to greet you. The room was ok , but there were no towels!! I called to front 3 times and for 40 min I was waiting the towels for taking a shower!!!! Really? Guests dont have Your time! Breakfast buffet awful, 20 min line for some quesadillas.... if you know there is full house... why you dont get prepared? I Hated paying for that. No apologies, nothing , only insensitive staff. No hello in the halls. The gym was abandoned, lots of insects flying and dead (pics). No water... no tv controls. And personnel of spa didnt say hello. Didnt felt like a Marriott just like an express chain.... dont go, try local boutique hotels better. Mrs.Gonzalez

Last time we went to this hotel with the family it was really nice ! We just went back and it was a total disappointment! The pirate pool for kids was totally unkept for and the kids slips on the floor on the side of the pool ,over and over again . The kids play room and other areas was old and needs to be kept up with very disappointing for me really I expected much more from Marriot!

Super kids friendly, good price, good food. The hotel is beautifully designed with all kind of Mexican arts craft. Kids have lots to do there, kids club, kids food ect. We will definitely come back soon.

The hotel is well situated very secluded but walking distance to a quaint town where you'll have great food. There are limited AC rooms but I finally got AC room 3rd night thanks to Marcos. Reception speaks little to no English but eventually you'll get what you want. Very friendly staff. Breakfast is great when you have Adan working, very professional waiter!!! When Adan not there, best you walk to the town and enjoy your breakfast. If you plan to go when festivities, expect lots of kids and crowded feeling. I would definitely go back for business.

This is our family hotel whenever we go to Ixtapan de la Sal, It is very close to Toluca. The facilities are friendly for children and elderly people. Last visits we've beed there with grandpa who is now in a wheel chair and the hotel is accesible for him. The service is excellent and the food great.
