Excellent location - walking distance to major subway, train station, and tourist sites around Ueno. Staff is friendly and speak good English. Rooms are small but affordable, clean, and have good facilities.

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms

The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good English, always greeting us as we entered and left the building. The rooms were small, as usual in Tokyo, but quite clean and comfortable (with fantastic memory foam mattresses!). The area seemed very safe (as is most of Japan). The hotel was non-smoking, which was great, and had umbrellas available for guests just in case they'd forgotten theirs. My only complaint is that the walls, door, and window were very thin. It was easy to hear people talking and walking along the street from four floors up, and to hear people returning to their rooms through the hallway at night, no matter how quiet they were. This kept me awake for a while one night, but I didn't notice it the other two. Overall, we felt comfortable and well-taken-care-of. Would stay here again for sure.

It was great. The bed was big enough and pillows were comfortable. The room was big enough to store luggage. Usually the hotel rooms in there have hardly any space to walk but I was surprised that this one had space! There is also infomation about Japan and pamphlets of local events. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

Room as to be expected at the price you pay. It is not new but clean and can be a bit noisy due to group guests. However it has the best staff, great location, value for money. I often return to this hotel, especially if i am flying out late at night, this is close enough to the skyliner to the airport and not that expensive that i am happy to pay for a night even if i just use the room for a shower prior leaving for my flight. staff are the best out of any hotel that i have stayed with in japan, 5 star down to 2 star. actually i would rate their friendliness, superior knowledge for local activities, flexibility to receive packages during your stay and luggage storage rates vary depend if you are returning to the hotel it may mean you will not need to pay for storage but if leaving it and picking up later, its cheaper than a locker at the Eki.

Cheap, Clean, Great Location! Must try!

I only spent a night there but the location was easy to get to, only two stations away from some of the most popular tourist locations, the hotel was very clean, and the staff was very courteous. We got a great deal for a great location and quality. Only two minuses, my room smelled a little moist, but not a problem since we were only there at night to sleep, and with the AC on, it wasn't a problem. And the WiFi didn't work. Other than that, great! Definitely would stay there again.

Reasonable price close to transit

The hotel is close to the Tokyo Metro line making it easy to buzz around the city. The hotel is older, but they are doing a good job keeping it clean. Bathrooms are super small and beds are very firm along with pillows. Needs some upgrades there. You can hear the comings and goings of your neighbors. Overall it really is quite comfortable.

Cheap and comfortable

It's a nice place to stay and not too expensive for a single room. There are convenience stores and restaurants nearby to eat. There are 2 station lines within walking distance so it is easy to visit Tokyo. Ueno and Akihabara are both within 20 minutes walking distance so I was able to walk there and sightsee along the way.
