Hotel Okura Tokyo

4.5 out of 5.0

Subtle and excellent service. Good restaurants. Welcoming staff. Quick check in and check out. Staff understands English.

The staff were exceptional. Although it's about a 7-15 minute walk from the nearest subways, it was a great place to stay. Quiet, refined, historic. The only thing is that when we arrived we got a room with two twin beds, but they quickly rectified the situation by finding another room (but for the next night). They moved our belongings while we were out, and we returned to our new room everything was waiting for us.

We had a great time when we stayed for our extended stay.

This hotel is fabulous. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a tranquil oasis nestled away in a quiet location but still within walking distance to main stations and roads. The gardens at the Okura are gorgeous. There is also a museum on the grounds. Good for business meetings, and the wifi service was hassle free. The airport-hotel-airport bus is a well run operation and puts your mind at ease having that facility. There are also a number of hotels and bars within the hotel which changes things up if you are staying for an extended period.

The Okura is one of the finest Japanese run hotels in Japan. Extremely helpful and pleasant professional staff, great restaurants and a great location near the financial, government and shopping areas of Tokyo. Highly recommended.

few hotels offer true customer care in the highly polished yet subdued way they do at the Okura. Top quality in every sense. Not flashy, but elegant in a Japanese way. The concierge spent 30 minutes with me to prepare my trip to Hakone, and Katori which became the highlights of me stay in Japan. Wonderful.

Beautiful Traditional Hotel. Thanks to some capacity, smoking / non-smoking room availability issue I was unaware of , I was upgraded without asking. Very large room, nice details, view over the garden. It was great. Only quibble would be the cost of meals at the hotel restaurants, particularly breakfast. The food was good, but I thought it was expensive even for a hotel in Tokyo.

We visit Tokyo frequently and have stayed in several hotels and have never been disappointed as service and comfort are always top notch, but I think the very authentic Japanese service and style at this hotel, as compared to the 5 star chain brands, make this place extra special. I understand why this was Steve Job's favorite hotel in Tokyo.

We unfortunately only spent 2 nights at this hotel but it's an amazing place. It's kept almost as it originally was built and it's decor, design and atmosphere live up to their standards and ideal of harmony. The only thing I would say the hotel can do better is that some of the carpets in the suites have stains so those should either be replaced or deeply cleaned . It's about 15 minutes from Roppongi and less than 10 minute walk to 3 different subway stations. Great facilities and fantastic restaurants. A very classy Japanese atmosphere can be felt. Also, the free tickets to the musem that's in the main building are a big plus. We would definitely like to go back to this hotel.

elegant, comfortable, good location, outstanding service.

The hotel was wonderful; clean, very helpful staff that spoke english, every amenity was available. However the hotel was 1.5km from the subway and much further from down town. The breakfast buffet was $40 per person and wifi was $20 per day.

We had to pay the guest price for using indoor and outdoor Pools, Gym and Sauna. I expected that the usage of above were included but they were not. It was Expensive but it was worth. All restaurants were hi class. Delicious!! Location was the best. Very quiet even it locates in the Center of Tokyo (right infront of American Embassy). Taxy, Subway, walk; very save area. Roppongi is a next stop from the subway station "Kamiyacho" where South building of the hotel locats. 24 hours inexpensive restaurant is also located outside (not in the hotel) if you have some budget. Dentist, Eye doctor, business office center, and shopping mall everything in the hotel. I will select this hotel again when I go to Tokyo, Japan again.
