2 days at Camelo Castle Hotel

I stayed at Camelot Hotel for 2 days. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the views were absolutely magnificent, unique and truly memorable. The outdoor areas of the hotel are gorgeous, and the surrounding landscape is breathtaking. However, there were several issues that affected my stay. The toilets were of poor quality, resembling a plastic cabin more suited to yachts, which did not match the otherwise elegant design of the room. I had a private small balcony, but unfortunately could not use it, as it was directly connected to my neighbour’s window. Out of respect for their privacy and dignity, I chose not to sit outside. The pillows were very uncomfortable, and I could not sleep the first night. Additionally, the TV was not operating, and although there was a video option available, it also did not function. Overall, while the exterior and location of the hotel are truly impressive, these drawbacks made my experience less enjoyable, and I would not choose to stay here again.

The staff at Camelot Castle were amazing and very helpful , especially with my two Young grandsons. The hotel rooms were very clean however the rooms we stayed in are in need of refurbishment and the pod bathrooms are tiny and difficult to use. We did have a lovely holiday but if we stayed again we would request rooms with proper bathroom facilities.

Camelot Castle Hotel is a fantastic place to see and even better to stay. We had a lovely room overlooking the sea, with views extending along the coast and over to the ruins of Camelot Castle. the staff are excellent, and as we were leaving, we got the chance to meet Ted, the wonderful artist who lives and paints at the Castle. We absolutely loved our stay here at the Castle hotel. Beautiful hotel with such amazing staff that put you at ease even with all the grandure they made us feel so welcome and relaxed like we had known them for years. Beautiful three course meal by candlelight in a stunning dining room with silver service and a very charming Gentleman who entertained us all after dinner with his talent playing a beautiful big Harp and Grand piano while we enjoyed a cocktail. We will definitely be going back. Thank you so much to all the staff especially the lovely young lady in the bar who even though the Internet went down she continued to service everyone writing down by hand everyone's orders .

Such a wonderful stay, lovely room, very enchanting hotel with a gorgeous setting, food menu was fine but not overly exciting, or fully mouth watering, lacking the wow, but no chips is always a good sign. Room was great, set up well, very clean, hot sink tap sounded like something out the house of horrors, but that’s down to historic pipes, room nearby had a whale snoring away in it all night and then it sounded like the whale was coughing up bones all morning, so again not the hotel, just luck of the draw North tower junior suite has incredible views, and is a very pleasant place to spend time. The property is not well represented in the description. The views are amazing but the ocean view may need to be reclassified as "you can almost see the ocean from your room"; during our stay it was very noisy, with poor Internet (when available) and the staff were incredibly rude. We did not like it so we left a day in advance, asking for a refund for the last night of our stay. They refused to do that and then refused to take calls or discuss with Orbitz. It was not a good experience, I would not recommend this hotel, even though the description and location make it seem appealing. I bet other hotels/inns/b&b in the areawould be much more friendly.

Hotel looks impressive from the outside and main reception however our room was far from it. Very disappointed. Bathroom was a "caravan pod" and tiny. Bedroom had mold up the walls and paint flaking everywhere

Reasonably priced single bed stay for 2 nights. Beautiful and historic building. Features of a stately home. The view over the cliffs to the sea was amazing. A single room included a toilet & shower plastic cubicle that was too small for me and I suggest for many adults. The door to the cubicle had to be opened to enable you to sit down on the toilet, before closing again. The lock on the door was a keyed 'night lock', which offers very little security whether you are in the room or elsewhere. Polite and welcoming staff. Comfortable and peaceful bar, sitting areas and restaurant. Lovely coffee. Breakfast included many choices of quality food. The evening menu was traditional and of a very good quality. There was also a Pizza menu until 9pm. I would recommend this hotel but don't expect a modern hotel experience but maybe, that is the point.

A last minute stay, room was outdated and in need of some TLC. Disappointed as no water on a hot day (27c) or biscuits or chocolate drink as this is usually the standard for most these days. I dont think the menu has changed much since we last visited. Love the area with plenty to do and see.

We enjoyed our stay in this magnificent old castle. However you need to be prepared for very old plumbing. But the experience was outstanding and views are incredible.
