Quality Inn Tifton2.5 out of 5.0

We had a family event near Tifton and wanted to drive up the night before so we would be rested for a day with family and friends. We have a 2 year old and I am 4 months pregnant. We tried to save money and opted to take a chance on a Priceline.com express deal. A giant mistake. The hotels named as potential options were all decent hotels nearby and all had great reviews as clean and safe options. So when we paid in full and received our results of Quality Inn I immediately looked at the reviews. I became concerned because there were as many terrible reviews as excellent. And the terrible reviews seemed legitimate. But we had paid in full and it was one night- how bad could it be? After work we drove to Tifton- roughly a 4 hour car ride. We are tired, my daughter is exhausted and we find the hotel. My husband comes back to the car after checking in to say “we have two double beds and they are otherwise booked, so it’s the room we have or we have to move to a smoking room.” I have chronic asthma and my husband has chronic allergies- a smoking room isn’t an option. We get to our room and I just know it’s about to be horrible. The outside window is covered in fingerprints. The door is dirty and looks like it has been kicked repeatedly. Unlock the door and the smell of old, stale smoke smacks us in the face. There are two old, slightly dirty ashtrays in our “non-smoking” room- clearly indicating smoking occurs often in this room. The furniture is horribly damaged- peeling, dinged, dented, and overral comparable to furniture one would see on the side of the road. The AC unit is disgusting and loud. But as long as the air is blasting, the room smells less like smoke. The mini fridge door is partially hanging off the fridge. Then we look at the beds. The first bed has dirty pillow cases with makeup and literal dirt smudged on them. The second bed has specks of old food on the comforter. The edges of the carpet look like they haven’t seen a vacuum in years. There are old, dead bugs littered on the floor. The ice bucket had mold on the lid. The toilet had hairs on the back of it and the shower was just grimy. I actually just started crying. My daughter was exhausted and needed to sleep. We tried calling other hotels in the area and everything was booked. And so we slept in the dirty hotel that was paid for because we had no other options. Given how dirty our hotel room was we opted to shower and leave in the morning and avoid the breakfast. This is not like any other Quality Inn we’ve stayed at in the past. This hotel is disgusting.
Checkin was impersonal and I felt they were more into making sure I knew where the bar was that in explaining anything else. The room: bed was good and so were the pillows. Carpet was stained in places, furniture was old, chair seemed an afterthought and was jammed into a corner. The bathroom lighting was dim and there appeared to mold or mildew on the shower walls. Breakfast was okay. Would try another place.
Dog odor, odor from mildew, bed sheets had blood on them. Told housekeeper she said it is not Hers and laughed. Asked for refund and got laughed at. I guess that’s what happens when you do not check room before paying. At 2:am a knock on my door it was an employee asking if I wanted company. I shut the door in her face.
Easy to get to from the highway. Pricing for what you get is good. The rooms are quite large and offer a lot of space do a family of four. Pool area is well kept and decent size. It’s also indoors so you can use it anytime and is open 24 hours. We had a lake view. It was peaceful. The serve a hot breakfast for three hours to accommodate people. Also have a bar for adults. Will come back for sure.
We try and stay at this place when in the area. The hot tub felt good after a long day traveling and the pool was a refreshing dip. There was a large group of kids so breakfast was crowded and the motel did not have enough help to keep the food filled but other than that it was nice and we will come back to this place
We often stop at the Quality Inn in Tifton, and it has become a comfortable and easy place to be. The staff is pleasant and welcoming, and the rooms are clean and a comfortable size. The pet friendly rooms are around the back, which is convenient. Breakfast can get a little bit crowded, so it is best to go either early or late rather than at prime time.
Making a reservation was a disaster! Check -in was a disaster! The room was comfortable enough. But when we went for breakfast nothing was ready!!!!! We will pass on this hotel in the future ! Other travelers were assisting the owner with the food, 15 minutes after it was supposed to be ready!
There were two charges put on my account in error and it was all handled very quickly with no troubles. Breakfast was great as well. We had a room on the back side with a beautiful view, would satay here again!
I'm here now. 11PM and can't sleep. Walls are paper thin, and room full of monkeys next door having a party. Constant door slamming and the smell of weed makes it more fun. Maybe a walk around the property once in a while wouldn't hurt?
When in the Tipton area I recommend choosing one of the newer hotels. I HAVE NEVER had my debit card charged immediately after pm on day of arrival. I was told by hotel desk clerk this was their policy . Poor way of greeting a client. Older hotel not well kept. Newer hotels in area more attractive and will get my business going forward. Disappointing
