We spent a week at the Tidnish Pearl this August, and it was truly lovely. The house is cozy, well equipped and tucked away in a quiet corner of Nova Scotia. So nice to come home to after busy days adventuring in NS, NB and across the bridge to PEI. An easy day trip to Charlottetown or Cavendish, quick drive to Amherst, Sackville or Cap-Pelé.
The house is lovely and quirky, as a 19th c. home would be, and more than comfortable with room to spread out for our family of 4. The front porch was perfect for morning coffee, the kids saw a meteor shower while sitting around the campfire, and we could keep up with the Olympics on the small TV in the family room. Both bathrooms were clean and functional, laundry and dishwasher all work well. The kitchen has all the utensils and tools you could want! Air conditioning in the kitchen and main bedroom only, but wasn’t needed during our week (evenings cooled down nicely and it’s so quiet it’s easy to leave windows open at night for a breeze!)
The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are connected - you have to walk through the Queen bedroom to get to the twin bedroom - which was no problem for our family, but might be a consideration if friends or mixed families are sharing the house.
Cell service was unreliable. Internet/wifi is available, but did seem to be affected on cloudy/rainy days. The large dining room table was perfect for art and games on those days!
We had a great stay and would recommend for small families looking for a quite getaway!
