I'm a regular visitor to the area and this my first stay at this hotel. Compared to many others in the local vicinity this is very good value. Nice quiet room, hot drink facilities in the room which in my experience is somewhat lacking in most hotels in Germany. Decent restaurant for evening meal and good breakfast facilities. One criticism is that for decent internet connection for business use you have to pay! Other than that a comfortable and pleasant stay.
We stayed one night at this hotel. There was a nice pool, hot tub, and sauna. Apparently there's a bowling center too but we didn't have time to see it. Oddly enough, swimming is free, but sauna costs 5 €. Parking costed 10 € for one night. The WiFi works well in every room.
I stayed here at this hotel as I was passing through. Surrounded by lots of trees, it's off the beaten path a little bit from the main central city of Weimar. But, it is comfortable, and the staff is friendly. The breakfast buffet was very good. The room was clean and comfortable. Yet, it could have thicker walls to cut out the noise from the neighbors. parking was free, and the price was reasonable.
The hotel is located close to a large and beautiful park that takes you directly to the town. It takes about 15-20 minutes and if you are in a hurry there is bus stop just outside the hotel. The hotel as such is large and modern with a very good restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff.
I really like this combination: quite low price and good accomodation. The only thing is that the hotel is situated 20 minutes walk from the city center. Breakfast was also to our satisfaction and staff very professionell.
Hotel ok but not outstanding. High floor might avoid traffic noise. Room sort of cleaned but no replacement water or bathroom supplies. Thin towels for a four star. Food not recommended unless you are unable to get into town.
This year we did an intensive tour. Theme: world war 2 and communisme & the iron curtain. Our first stop was in Weimar. Great hotel, walking distance (12 min) to city centre. Nice rooms, good breakfast. Price, quality was great. Direct online booking hotel gave best prices! Next morning visite Buchenwald Concentration Camp.
I was here with a tour group in August. The hotel is very pretty on the outside and the lobby is very elegant. But once you reach the rooms, they are very dated. The bathroom is especially dated. There is no central light in the room. I had to wait five minutes for the shower water to warm up. I could not get the TV to turn on. Dinner was mediocre. If you want a modern hotel, pass this one up. Needs a remodel.
We stayed there with some friends. It is a very good location for a city-trip. It is quiet for sleeping and not far to the city. You can reach the city by feet (15 to 20 minutes walking through a wonderful park), by bus (bus station located in front of the hotel) or by taxi. The restaurant is ok, also the bar. All staffs are very friendly and helpful. You must have time for the wonderful wellness center.
Our 3rd visit to the Leonardo Hotel Weimar again proved that its staff is very curstomer oriented. Our daughter has a severe food allergy. The restaurant staff gave her a VIP-treatment for the breakfasts and paid good attention to her list of do's and don'ts at dinner. They were extremely customer friendly in doing so. Otherwise, the service of the Leonardo Hotel Weimar also is very good. It is a wonderful place to stay. We love to come back.
