What a wonderful weekend! We were in town with two other families to watch our boys play lacrosse in a tournament. Instead of staying in a boring hotel we had this beautiful retreat in the woods after a long day of games. Parents sat by the fire and relaxed while the boys played pickleball, kayaked, yard games, etc. Our only regret is that it took us 5 years of traveling for sports to figure this out!! Thanks for a great weekend--we hope to be back next summer.

The house is very spacious with comfortable beds and numerous activities and games for the family. The hot tub was a feature we all truly enjoyed, especially while watching the snow come down. The location is very tranquil and the views are beautiful! The owner is very responsive to messages and was understanding when one of us had an issue requiring a later checkout. We would definitely book a future stay at Thunderhill!

Clean ,comfortable and spacious!

We stayed at this property for the week of University of Delaware’s graduation. It was perfect, about a 15 minute drive from Newark, in a very nice neighborhood. The house was in a lovely wooded area near a creek, where we were able to take walks in the neighborhood. The house was clean and comfortable and the host, Raymond, made it easy. I would highly recommend.

Memorable!

The property is simply beautiful and serene. The location was private yet amidst a friendly neighborhood. The arrangements were impeccable and we had a five star experience. We had a very good time and the loft and the swings were a great hit with the kids :) (also the books, toys and games). Communicating with the owner was easy and we had everything we needed. We hope to return sometime soon.

Cozy spot in the woods

Thunder Hill Retreat was just what we needed! Three families stayed together here while the teen boys were competing in Mountain Bike race at Fair Hill. The location was quite close to the venue, and we really appreciated the quiet location in the woods. The house is well-stocked with amenities, impeccably clean, and comfortable for many people (we were 10!) I got compliments from my family and our friends all weekend for finding this gem.

Absolutely delightful getaway

This beautiful home is probably our favorite getaway rental ever! It was a perfect setup for everyone in our group of two families (four adults, 6 kids). For the "indoor" people in our group, the house is in pristine condition, very clean and comfortable, with many great places to lounge and relax. We loved reading the books of Mr. Martin's world travels, and the kids loved playing with the toys. For the outdoorsy people, it is an idyllic secluded cabin in the woods. We loved sitting on the deck enjoying the view and going on a rock scramble down to the creek (though be warned the trail is thorny and VERY steep!). Everyone loved the firepit at night. Also the craftsmanship of the wood furniture and the house itself is very impressive. Just one note, the loft and another bedroom have skylights, so you may wake up with the sun unless you bring a sleep mask. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back here!

Out in the Woods!

We had a five sibling reunion--the youngest was 78. We made extensive use of the Keurig single cup coffee maker and the four recliner chairs. The front door handle was broken, but it was promptly fixed while we went to dinner. The guest book with information regarding the area was missing so we used Google and recommendations from people we interacted with. All communication was through VRBO because we weren't given a direct phone number. The location is very beautiful and rural with Amish farms and rolling hills. The listing didn't mention that there was no TV, dish washer or garbage disposal. The lack of a TV prevented us from watching the Westminster Dog Show and any sporting events.

Smooth check in and communication with host. This house is absolutely gorgeous and very clean! Secluded and peaceful! Plenty of cookware and utensils. Plenty of seating in each area of the house inside and out. Plenty of beds! The bed are so comfortable I slept like a baby and didn’t want to wake up on day of check out. Games inside and out pickle ball court w balls/ paddles, corn hole boards and bean bags. Very nice children’s play set w slide and swings Books board games etc. Has nice gas grill and plenty of seating on top deck. Down stairs has washer/ dryer. Also downstairs has another family room with sectional and table w chairs. with additional bedroom and bathroom down stairs lead to sliding glass doors with huge hot tub that was so nice in a peaceful setting. There is also a table outdoors on lower level with plenty of seating and a hanging chair swing. The firepit has string lights, seating, and a grill over fire pit to cook. We roasted marshmallows and hot dogs. The host also had firewood they provide for during your stay. This place was amazing and so peaceful. We went down to creek 2 days in a row. The trail is extremely steep and you may wanna be somewhat physically fit to go down and then back up. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. I had the best time just relaxing at this beautiful home.
