Im spent my three nights there and experience is very bad . Even food not good bath room of our room is also not good .also going to share some pictures of my rooms so you cn imgine . This resort have to pick and drop there customer through boat and i wait more than one and half hour to get in boat. Advise everyone not go there or check my room pic and decide
A good place to stay, views are amazing especially the floating cottages, when we went it was raining very pleasant atmosphere. Negative side : We were given another room, the executive superior room, instead of the floating cottage due to bad weather conditions, that's ok but the room that we were transferred in was not properly ready when we were checked in, it was smelling nasty, there were mosquitoes and it was dirty in the minibar section, the room bathroom is very good, but ours was not properly cleaned, the jacuzzi was open from one end and even it was not looking clean, we had to order for the basic amenities lime towels and bath robes, the room cleaning supposedly only happens once a day, when we requested our room To be cleaned by putting the sign for clean our room as it was raining the floor was wet, we were told the room will now be cleaned tomorrow, that is something not expected from a claimed 4-5 star resort charging over 8k for a night. Positive side : now to the brighter side the food was good, buffet was awesome pool was fantastic and ayurveda spa was super relaxing. I was surprised on how they charged nearly 1200 RS for 5 small packs of dry fruits, and two juice packets all worth less than 500 bucks as per written MRP. So overall we liked the place very much but with a little bit of better in room service it will be a the 4 star resort being claimed.
You arrive at the island by boat which takes about 20 minutes and on arrival we were very impressed by the surroundings and looked forward to a relaxed stay. The room was a land cottage and in a quiet area but seemed a little down at heel and in need of a facelift, the views across the gardens are lovely. If you are just looking for somewhere to chill out for a few days then this is a good place to come with a lovely swimming pool but if you are looking for a little more activity then it would be better to choose the mainland as there is very little to do on the island other than take massages, eat and relax. We enjoyed a one hour boat trip around the backwaters and the extremely helpful boatman ensured that he got as close as possible to the birds we were interested in seeing. My main criticism was the unprofessional way the resort is run with many of the staff having little knowledge of good customer relations and the restaurant was somewhat chaotic with staff running hither and thither rather than being allocated to specific tables. The food is served buffet style and on our first night it was fairly luke warm although we had arrived early. Overall the dining experience was fairly average as was the food and didn't encourage me to linger longer than necessary.
Horrible stay with no food available , poor handling of customers, poor room amenities, they don’t have any planning to upkeep the standards for conducting conferences Came for a business meeting , stayed there for 2 days , charging was of business class but facilities are not meeting with single star Rooms with flies mosquitos and ugly smells
We are 3time staying hear Excellent. Enjoyed the stay. Have been in the resort on earlier occassions with ftiends. The long walk from the room to restaurant was relaxing. The housekeeping very impressive. Look forward visiting soon
Hi everyone We are the honeymoon couple stay on 1/12/17 At Poovar resort The place was really good but the staff was really unprofessional they don’t bother about your things. Their is so much of confusion from check-in to check-out in every department My advice to you all before check in room first see the room if you satisfied then you take the room because they will give you dirty room.
Its a beautiful property at beautiful place!! Feeling of peace and tranquility in resort!! We are in group of 5 families, all enjoyed a lot at resort!! Its huge property with excellent rooms! We like a beach just in front of resort, its very beautiful and crowd less! Food is good with so many varieties!!
This hotel was our final hotel in India and it had the best chef of our whole two week tour of Kerala. The food served up was quite simply outstanding. The chef came to our table after and during every meal and made sure we were very well catered for. he had an amazing knowledge of South Indian cuisine and was a great person, full of character and fun and talent. The room was large and the bathroom enormous but the fitting e.g. the in bath jacuzzi were rathern old and worn but this didnt bother us. The massage provided at the hotel was fantastic as was the boat ride in the back waters. The pool was clean and well maintained. It was a bit disappointing that there is no beach and you have to get a boat to go to the sand bar. From a distance this looked great but as we walked up to the fishermen's boats we found discarded fish and a dead turtle strangled in nets and litter and human excrement. The other end of the sandbar there was horse riding on skinny horses and very in your face traders. The sea was far too rough to swim in and had a strong under current so this is not a place for a beach holiday. Overall a nice hotel with great food and masages and boat rides but the sand bar needs cleaning up, it is a disgrace
Poover island is a outstanding location. Room is very nice as floating cottage. Location of Floating cottage is extremely beautiful. Evening scene from cottage is wonderful. Food is good. Poover island is full of greenery. Coconut trees improves its beautification.
We were on 8 night tour of Kerala and our last destination stay were at Poovar Island Resort. We had selected this property to relax from our tiring journey so we can reached home with fresh mood.Of course this is Paradise like property but Service is a big issue very poor attitude towards this factor.Considering this weak issue we are not sure for recommendations for this resort, more to this same category rooms are not having same facilities why don’t know. Many more options are there in poovar and Kovalam
