Clean Hotel.

Hotel was very clean and main areas were excellent. Room was clean and largely well maintained but the floorboards were creaky in some places, the shower wasn't always hot and the bathroom extractor fan was pretty loud. Receptionist when we checked in was fantastic, but when we checked out the receptionist (different person) was on the phone, which wasn't a problem, but the other staff member stood at the desk just stared at us and didn't speak. Bar staff, although efficient behind the bar, left tables to be cleared for some time and were not verycommunicative. Good hotel, can't fault the cleanliness, but customer service was lacking ever so slightly.

This is a hotel that does a job if you are looking for a ultra convenient overnight stay. There’s no luxury element, breakfast is chaotic and lacking a little efficiency but it’s perfectly clean and the staff are welcoming.

Better than expected!

First impressions were great, the staff were helpful, and the room was spacious with a huge comfortable bed (although I would take my own pillow next time). The room had everything you could need; a dressing area, full length mirror, safe, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water, even an ironing board and iron. But, then you start to notice little things like the limescale and heavy water marks on the chrome fittings in the bathroom and around the shower heads. The shower screen wasn't wide enough and the floor got very wet, also, the hand rail isn't in the best place as I kept knocking my elbows on it. Initially, it looks clean, but it could really do with a deep clean. There were also several stains on the bedroom carpet. In the bar area, some of the chairs had food stains on them which would probably have been quite easy to clean off. We had a light lunch in the bar on the Friday, and dinner for 5 in the evening. The food was great and we were all very happy with our choices. We all had breakfast on 2 mornings which had a huge selection, including fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, fresh muffins and pastries, and a full cooked breakfast. Throughout our stay there were painter/decorators working in the corridor with wet paint signs dotted around but it didn't create too much of a problem. Apart from a few small niggles, the hotel was better than expected, all the staff were really helpful and friendly, and we would definitely stay there again.

A bit mixed

We booked two rooms during a very hot UK summer, one had air conditioning but the other didn't. Instead a desk fan was provided, but getting the fan to a suitable height to be useful in bed was a challenge which made sleeping difficult. Thw swimming pool is also a lot smaller than it looks on the photos, certainly not usable for actual swimming. There are times for kids but we went to try and get some quieter time there but we're told it was closed. The location is pretty good if you're just looking to drive to Oxford park and ride. And in general the rest of the hotel was fine.
