THE LONE STAR CABIN ONLY MINUTES FROM FIRST MONDAY TRADE DAYS

This is an approximately 650 square foot (mol) cabin which has been newly renovated. It has just-installed wood laminate floors, Texas décor, a brand new queen mattress set, an awesome mural painted on the back of the cabin (great photo op), and more. We have done fun and funky repurposing and the cabin really has a unique vibe. There is a mini-fridge, stove, microwave, K-cup coffee pot...all the comforts of home, including board games in the closet and a turntable in the living room! See the pictures...words won't do it justice. Outside the cabin, there is a brand new fire pit (another great photo op). This cabin in the woods will have you feeling like you are miles from civilization but you are really 2 miles from the World Famous Canton Trade Days. This is a non-smoking, no pet cabin. It comfortably accommodates 2 but there is adequate room for 4 people. However, guests 3 and 4 will be on memory foam pads on the floor...or bring your own blowup mattress! Additionally, the WIFI can be unreliable and that is why we provide DVDs, books, and board games. FINALLY, this property is not handicapped accessible. Full disclosure, it has four pretty steep steps up to the porch (again, see photos). Once inside, it is pretty accessible and all one level, but please take note if you or a member of your party is in a wheelchair or has trouble negotiating stairs. Most of our prices per night are for a 2 night minimum stay. Please refer to the booking calendar. There are additional cabins on the property and owner lives on-site. The cabin is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and space to spread out with a separate bedroom. Guests can expect to find a TV with a DVD player. The cabin also includes a coffee maker.

The Lone Star deserves TWO Stars

Rust came out of the bathroom water faucet. The air conditioner in the bedroom sounded like a lawn mower. There were no wash rags and only one fork. The medicine cabinet could not open because the light fixture was in the way. It's easy to stump your toe on the elevated portion of the Barstool seating. I did it twice my wife once. The bed is so close to the wall that you can barely get out and it won't move. We had to get a barbecue grill from an unused cabin because ours was in such disrepair it could not be used.And don't be spooked when you open the bedroom closet, there's a a Grinch in a Christmas tree in there! It's my opinion that the owners think you will be impressed with all their stuff that they have everywhere and you will overlook the necessities. This place was just not our cup of tea. However the grounds and cabin were clean.

This place was perfect for us. Just a bit our of town where we could hear the birds & not town sounds. The hosts were amazing & "schooled" us on trade days! Such a perk for the next days adventures. Need more time here to unwind & have fun. Will definitely book here again it was so easy to find everything & they provided so much! Felt like home & that we weren't just numbers like at a large chain hotel.

Loved the property. Hidden right off the highway behind a privacy fence, the little cabins were nestled in the space with outdoor yard figures like a giant bull and mantis. For December, it was decorated for the holidays which gave it an extra bit of charm. So close to trade days (if thats what you are looking for) and other amenities. Inside, it's rustic decor with a very cozy and homey feeling. I would recommend anyone to stay. We plan to make a trip again next year!

A peaceful/funky/woodsy gem!

We loved staying in this adorable, funky Texas cabin for our Canton stay. Our hosts made us feel very welcome, comfortable and well taken care of. The decor and grounds are whimsical (great photo ops abound!) and well maintained. It’s hard to believe this peaceful getaway is located literally on the highway, only two miles from Trade Days. We appreciated “above and beyond” things the hosts did like starting a fire, providing books, videos, and LPs, bottled water, coffee and more. We also were impressed to find skewers and a lighter thoughtfully placed near the lovely fire pit area. The kitchen is well equipped. We loved design details like the ice pick holding the kitchen towel/oven mitts, and the old-timey handle water pump that actually works! The bed was comfortable, and the cabin was cozy and warm. We could park right in front, with only a few steps to bring in our luggage. This is literally the perfect place for a Canton getaway!!

Perfect location

This rustic cabin was a great place to stay after a long day of shopping. It’s not new or modern but my daughter and I appreciated the cozy and quirky vibe. This only suggestion I have is adding a blind or curtain to the front two windows. But that’s just because I am a “shut your blinds at night” kind of person. It is private property and I’m sure others may not even give a second thought about this. Would definitely stay again!

Great Location!

Owner was so easy to work with. We had to cancel at the last minute due to an unexpected death in the family. He did not hesitate to offer us an opportunity to reschedule rather than lose our money. Cabin was so clean and cute! Only 2 miles from Trade Days! Bed was really comfy and we slept great!

Pros: Felt safe Parking Fire pit and grill provided Cute concept Nicely decorated Comfortable living area Small faux fireplace nice addition Easy Check-in Games, good DVD selection, entertaining /informative books Helpful area information Recliner in bedroom and areas to place suitcases Cons: Traffic noise - backs up to highway, with only a fence in between Bed - uncomfortable and polyester sheets Bathroom - water very difficult to turn off enough to stop loud dripping; almost nowhere to place personal items Kitchen - snacks provided were minimal and stale; faucet like in bathroom; could have been cleaner Heating - difficult to regulate temperature, with no thermostat Electrical - light switches randomly placed, some high up on walls; smoke alarm appeared inoperative Record player - great idea, but we could not get it to work Internet - spotty at best, worked marginally on Thursday (were there for trade days) but Friday no internet at all Overall: For us, the cons on important issues (like bed, internet, temperature regulation, and noise level) outweighed the pros, so we will not return.

Great location, 2-3 miles from trade days. Not sure how wi-fi is normally but, could not get a signal while on the property. For me I like thicker curtains on the windows and the front door needed one as well. Other than that had a great time
