I am rating this Hotel as Excellent in spite of one serous fault as I mention in the title of my review. The staff is very friendly and the service is all in all very good. The hotel it self has a nice and relaxing ambiance. The food in general was very good, but we did experience one very disappointing evening, when, after a long day, we decided to order room service. After a long wait, we finally got our food, but it was in no way in the standard of a Five Star Hotel and in my case, not even the food that I had ordered. When we complained we were offered substitute food, which turned out to be of no better quality then the first food we had received. After returning the second food, we did receive on the house a nice bottle of Cave, great Chocolate desert and some mini burgers that were excellent. The day after we had lunch at the beach-front restaurant La Palapa-Beach Club. This is a restaurant belonging to the same company as Hotel Sir Antony and at this restaurant we discovered the food that we had received the night before. They had clearly brought the food to our rooms, from this restaurant. I had for example received a Hamburger that was not even on the room-service menu at Sir Antony, but was on the menu at this restaurant. THERE IS A REASON FOR CHEFS WORKING THEIR WAY UP TO FIVE STAR HOTELS AND NOT ALL CHEF'S ARE SUITABLE FOR FIVE STARS
The design I feel was done in the seventies, pink glass, gold aluminum frames and balconies, spiral staircase up to private plunge pool and deck. Fabulously private, wonderful views to the beach. Yes the spiral stairs are for slim people, But it all works wonderfully. Relaxing, the staff could not be more helpful and are all of such pleasant disposition. We will be back.
My partner treated us to a pre-Christmas break at the Sir A. The hotel feels spacious although it is not huge. The furnishings are modern and sleek. The amenities are high-spec, and the rooms appear to be very well sound-proofed. We had a private roof terrace with a plunge pool. The toiletries were gorgeous (I loved the Ylang Ylang shower gel by Molton Brown). The bathroom with the glass walls can be shielded from view with sleek modular panels which other residents may not have noticed based on previous reviews, probably because they are very well integrated in the decor. Being close to the seafront, we could hear the waves overnight, which was restful, whilst the area was not noisy. The meet and greet was excellent, we appreciated the champagne on the terrace on arrival whilst the check-in was done seemlessly with no queues nor standing around. The breakfasts were overall excellent. The staff is exceptional in their professionalism and friendliness, from reception to the bar and restaurant staff, to the chambermaids. The following special mentions are only limited by the fact that I do not know the names of the other members of staff; apologies for all the others not mentioned by name: Karim for being so solicitous, Danilo for pre-empting our every requests (he learned very quickly what we liked or would order). Last but not least, Bernardo, for his friendly chats, who also charmingly introduced us to the local drink speciality and let us sample his latest cocktail creation. I understand that Bernardo was only covering temporarily but he is an absolute jewel. Only two downsides: I realise that it was December, but given that the hotel positions itself as a luxury hotel, it would have been even more expected that the swimming pools be heated, especially for the plunge pool on the private terrace, as these rooms come at a premium, but the pool was too cold to contemplate dipping a toe in, despite the fact that we had decent weather around 20-22 degrees. Also, we understand that a boutique hotel (although not that small) may not have a gym onsite (but they have a basement wellness/beauty/spa area). We were happy enough to use the gym at the hotel next door (the dance class was challenging and fun) but not too impressed for being charged 6 € each for the privilege, in the grand scheme of what was being paid already. Overall, it was the perfectly relaxing stay that we needed; we overindulged on food, but by the look of other guests, we weren't the only ones! Great memories, thank you Sir A.
We had set our minds on staying at the Sir Anthony for some time having read a lot of positive reviews but needed to consider if the additional cost over Villa Cortes where we usually stay was worth it so we tried it for a four night break and were very impressed with the personal touch which started with a good meet and greet Breakfast was a highlight being different from the large hotels and apart from the cold buffet you were served at your table The bar area is low key and quiet which is fine but if you want you can get entertainment from the two adjoining sister hotels The pool area is small and was a little dominated by a large group with small children and due to the type of hotel it would be better if it was adults only I feel The rooms are excellent but the glass fronted bathroom isn’t something that I would choose due to the many issues it brings and seems an unnecessary aspect There is direct access to an excellent beach and the shopping/restaurant strip is literally 2 minutes away So on balance an excellent and very different hotel on a superb location
Having first visited the Sir Anthony November 2016 both myself and Tracy my wife have since visited the hotel on 10 occasions, spending over 3 months of the year at the Sir Anthony from November 2016 - November 2017 which speaks for itself The Sir Anthony isn't cheap but you will be in no doubt that you get what you pay for ? What makes the hotel stand out from the other 5* hotels we've stayed in, is the staff who all amazing going above and beyond to make our stay perfect the service at the Sir Anthony is impeccable, A special thanks to Danilo the best waiter we have had anywhere very attentive and a pleasure to see every day he really goes that extra mile to make our visit perfect before we asked for something he attended to our needs , also a special mention to Sandra,Valentino and Management team Rosa, Chritina & Maurice. From the moment we arrive to the moment we leave the service from all staff is exceptional, they are friendly, efficient and extremely helpful at all times the ,hotel staff across all roles are a credit to The Sir Anthony. The breakfast is as good as any we have enjoyed anywhere , the hotel is in privileged location right on the sea front looking over the Playa del Camisón one of the best beaches in Tenerife , The rooms at the Sir Anthony Hotel are modern- contemporary, and meticulously-planned out, Following a luxury refurbishment in 20016 The Windsor Restaurant which opened Christmas 2016 (my wife Tracy had the privilege of cutting the ribbon at the opening) is excellent with fresh produce of the highest quality and cooked to perfection it doesn't fail to disappoint. The hotels hosts two Gala evenings Saturday is Tapas and Wednesday which are excellent , The golden mile is perfectly located nice, shops, bars, & restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets,
This was my 19th Visit to Tenerife so i've stayed at a few places but this one blew my mind............. As we entered the spectacular near mirror building we were kindly greeted buy staff with a warm welcome. They then directs us to the seating area, your choice (lobby, outside) where we were served glass of champagne and relaxed in the elegant surroundings whilst they deal with your check in. You're luggage is took away and is in your room once you get their. The room was modern and "gleemin" (as us Scots would say) and very well equipped with the private roof terrace with sun loungers and a plunge pool. I surprised my other half with a romance package which I cant thank the staff enough for. The full room was great with plenty of lights and power points. The staff are all relay friendly they can't do enough for you. There is a spa in the lower level witch is elegant but was just over my budget. There's a look warm pool and garden area with access to the beach promenade and beach. You don't half to walk 30 yards and you could be on the beach or in shopping strip. Rooms cleaned daily with a turn down at night. Mini bar is not included in price of your room. I will be back here in 2018. We may also bring some friends it was that good.
This hotel doesn't have a reception, it has a girl with a Mac who directs you to the seating area of your choice (lobby, outside) where you are served fizz and relax in the elegant surroundings. You're luggage is whisked away no doubt to be given a stern talking to about being good luggage and how lucky it is to be owned by you and is there in your room when you eventually decide to go look at it. The rooms are modern and crisp and very well equipped. The 1st floor rooms have pool access, the 3rd floor rooms all have their own spiral staircase to a private roof terrace with sun loungers and a plunge pool. If neither are of interest choose the 2nd floor. The staff are all friendly and chatty and can't do enough for you but it's not in your face and all very subtle and understated. There's a secluded and pool and garden area with access to the beach promenade and beach. You're literally 2 minutes from the main shopping street and 1 minute from the beach. Grand place altogether.
I stayed in this hotel for the first time in 1st week in November. I paid a bit extra as I usually go to the sister hotel Cleopatra. This was money well spent. The place is so much different, no fighting for sun beds, no manic breakfasts. Life is at such a nice pace from start to finish. I was treated very well by the staff who couldn't do enough for me and they were so polite. Rooms were very good we only had the basic package but we were hardly ever in it and it was comfortable with a very good walk-in shower was available. The balcony had a wonderful sea view far enough from the promenade to avoid the late night revellers which seem to congregate around the area in the early hours of the morning shouting and bawling. Breakfast was very good you could have what ever you wanted from the kitchen and the quality was excellent and if you like champagne with your meal it's à prestige brand. The pool area is probably a weak point but it did not spoil my stay. As stated the grass either needs sorting out or replace it . There was never any problems getting a sunbed if the area was full which happened on one occasion they brought in extra beds and brollies .The beach towels were free no 30 euro deposit here Finally would I go back of course it would be rude not to. Thanks Sir Anthony
The staff in this hotel are amazing, they are so friendly but in an understated manner. The breakfast service is very good. There is a small hot menu selection, but if you want a full English then just ask. Veuve clicqout champagne is a lovely touch. The bedrooms are decorated in a contemporary fashion with lots of storage and lots of wooden hangers. It lacks a dressing table with mirror, so ladies be prepared to stand in the bathroom to dry hair etc as the bedroom lights are not very bright. All rooms have sun on the balcony all day . Now to our major problem with the hotel and I am repeating what other guests have said. The outdoor area around the pool is just awful, the grass is very coarse and it is not great to walk on with muddy patches. Please please Sir Anthony listen to what your paying guests are saying because it lets down an otherwise stunning hotel.
From the moment I walked in I was treated like royalty. Champagne and a seat while my documents were being created, everyone using my name. Multiple staff members coming to say hello. My room was incredible, the food was excellent and the location is right on the beach and in the middle of everything. I will definitely be coming back. I wouldn't stay anywhere else
