The hotel seems new and its services are very good. Very nice stuff. The best: the pools and food!! The Restaurat located on the sea it beautiful and if you stay more than 5 nights, you get a free dinner. What is to improve: the gym is in bad conditions. Air conditioning was so high that it was freezing!
Overall, we were satisfied with resort and had a pleasant stay, however, I have three negatives to mention. 1) Very close to airport (good and bad thing). Planes come in about every 15-20 minutes in the morning and evening hours. 2) LOTS of kids. If you are a couple who will get annoyed by lots of children running around, book an adults-only resort. 3) The all-inclusive meals were terrible. Poor quality and over-spiced. (The all-inclusive alcoholic drinks were great.) We were able to overlook the planes, kids, and bad food because we felt that the price was fair enough just for the rooms and nothing else included. Our balcony was lovely and we had a great time on a Segway tour and getting a massage.
Really a great hotel... I only have a few minor complaints. 1) There were A LOT of kids. I would not recommend this hotel for couples that may be annoyed by kids running crazy everywhere. 2) Very close to airport - which is good and bad thing. A plane comes in about every 15-20 minutes in the morning and evening hours and flies right over the resort. 3) The all-inclusive meals were not that great, but the alcoholic beverages were awesome. We also got a great massage and did a Segway tour. Overall it was a great get-a-way but the kids, planes, and food are the reason for my 4 star instead of 5 star rating.
The hotel is very nice and located about 15 minutes from the South Airport and about 1 hour from the North Airport. The food was very good and many choices at each meal. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They provide a free shuttle to Las Americas which is a very nice area for shopping and beaches. Although it rained a majority of the time I was there so not a lot of beach time. Several pools at the hotel, at least 2 heated - very nice. Great place for singles, couples and familys. You won't be dissapointed. The one complaint I have is there is no coffee maker in the room - so you cannot enjoy a cup of coffee on the balcony, which each room has.
I enjoyed the activities at the facility, however, if you are there for a short while there isn't enough rotation to see everything. Note, most activities are not inclusive such as the tennis (5 Euros for racket, and 6 for balls), foseball table, and pool tables, spas, jaccuzzi, and the Proa restaurant. For inclusive admitance to the restaurant you must be there at least seven days. The food (buffet) and drinks (mostly wells liquior" the cheap stuff" are the only inclusive things.
elegant design , very ambient like the name suggests, for sightseeing in nearby towns you should rent a car...everywhere you would want to go is within 30 mins to 1 hour driving ...
