In short, a very nice and friendly hotel with one side opening onto the main tourist street while the other side opens to the beach promenade. Some places / sites rate the hotel as 5*. Personally I would say it is more like a very good 4*. On arrival we stepped off the coach and were met by a staff member to carry our cases into the reception. We were treated to a free glass of orange and sparkling wine prior to booking in. The reception staff were friendly, knowledgable and efficient. We had booked a sea view room and were not disappointed. Room was clean and sizeable. Fridge, TV, safe and reasonable storage.Bathroom was great, hair dryer, 2 sinks, bath, shower, bidet and toilet. Complimentary shower gel and shampoo which were replaced as they were used. Plenty of seats around the pool although prime spots go early. Shade, if you need it is available and there is also the poolside bar / snack cafe. Most days include some sort of activity - water aerobics, water polo etc. Other activities also available around the pool area - archery, football, table tennis etc. Breakfast is a busy place but it was unbelievable. Lots of choice. Friendly staff. You can sit inside or outside. We didn't use the restaurant, we chose to sample the many and wide variety of local facilities. Entertainment - live entertainment most nights. If your room faces the pool you will most likely hear it. We loved the hotel. The staff, all of them, were friendly and helpful and helped to make our holiday a wonderful experience.
We stayed in this hotel for a week. We were greeted at the front with a glass of bubbly which was a nice touch after the flight. Our room was nice and clean but there was a smell of damp and mould which isn't great but we did put up with it as only by the front door. Pool view was nice. Breakfast there was a huge selection for everyone's taste, omelettes, poached eggs cooked fresh. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but a few days spend lunch around the pool and there wasn't a great deal to get for lunch. Pool is lovely and big but not allowed inflatable Lilos or rings in the big pool but your allowed them in smaller pools. Personally I think it should be the other way round. Plenty of sun beds around the pool for everyone most had been taken by 10am Soft play was good and baby pool within but children's entertainment was poor throughout the day and evening. Entertainment overall poor at the hotel not a lot going on in the day apart from the big inflatable on Wednesday with water polo. Evening entertainment not much to be desired. A singer every night but not our kind of music and not busy with guests no atmosphere Overall wouldn't stay here Again
Our second visit in 12 month's. Staff: Staff are very sincere and polite, nothing is a problem and any issues you may have are dealt with immediately. Food: Lot's of variety at breakfast, majority of holidaymakers are B&B. Rooms: Very outdated and in serious need of update. Beds are so hard, and generally the decor. Isn't this supposed to be a 5* hotel? The room really let's this hotel down. Pool: Pool area is lovely, however I noticed from my first visit over a year ago we used to have padded loungers, this is no longer, why? Hotel has taken comfort's away, little things matter. I also noticed as a family of 4, myself and two teenage children was poorly. We think maybe from the pool as my wife was fine and she has not been in it. Hot fever, sore throat, diareer. This has cost us 2 days of being confided to the room. Tenerife has so much to offer, the Cleopatra Hotel looks lovely next door and today we will be having a further look into and possibly booking with them for April. Sorry Med Palace but no more hold from me. Happy Holidays!
We've been loyal customers of the Mare Nostrum Resort for years now and up until this year, had never considered staying at another resort. The standard over the last few years has dropped quite a bit and we're now looking at different hotels for our visit next year. Good points: • Location is brilliant for restaurants/pubs/beach • Pools at Med Palace and Cleopatra Palace are both good • Breakfast buffet is good value for money Not so good points: • House keeping wasn't great at all - a few days were missed despite us being out of the room from 10am until 3pm. Bed sheets were never changed, a few days we were only given bath towel, rubbish wasn't taken away. Not what I would expect at a 5* resort. • We requested a late check out months before our arrival - when we went to confirm this today, we found out we are unable to have one as the hotel is busy. This is fair enough if we had asked last minute but given we requested this months ago it could have been managed. • You have to pay to use the fridge - don't think this is necessary at all. • Safe in room is temperamental. • Our room door was also temperamental and on a few occasions was opened from the outside by my partner despite me having properly closed the door. • Beds are pretty uncomfortable with limited blankets - there is an additional blanket in the cupboard but it is very thick and itchy/scratchy. I've recommended the MNR to friends and family for years but after our visit this year, we won't be doing so anymore. So disappointed as we loved the resort!
Despite the title - I was fairly impressed with the hotel. The swimming pool was a decent size, shop was fair stocked. However, the room size was not great, disappointed at the extortionate price for practically everything and when you order room service - expect to wait at least an hour. In regards to pool sized, features, etc. I'd recommend the sister hotel of Cleopatra Palace which facilities you can use when staying at either. In regards to the entertainment - I have stayed at a number of hotels including Sunset Harbour Club in Tenerife which I felt has better entertainment. Overall - average Tenerifian hotel.
This was our second visit here lovely people in the hotel could do with a refurbish but did not spoil Our stay would go back again we have been to Tenerife many times and will certainly be back Would recommend this hotel
On arrival we were given a glass of champagne, porter arrived to take our cases and we were sent to floor 5 room overlooking the main drag next to Hard Rock Cafe on first impression yes the rooms are dated but very clean. As we were in a room overlooking the main street and Hard Rock Cafe this was a problem as music booming until 3 am then bin collection at 6 am and staff arriving too much noise I never slept a wink! My husband on the other hand heard nothing! At 6.30 am I could take no more went to reception. I was offered a choice of rooms but no pool view room or sea view room is an option unless you pay an extra 10 per night for pool view or 20 euro for sea view, this was not the issue just away from the noise we were allocated room 3086 again dated but clean, and away from the noise so perfect. There is a charge for the fridges in the rooms as well but turns out the second room fridge was unlocked. Free safe use in all rooms and free WiFi which works very well. We stayed on a B & B basis and I have to say there is something for everyone. Huge choice and welcome from staff. Never a problem for sun beds no matter what time of the day really, there is a deposit of 15 Euros per towel but given back at the end of your stay. There is however the few that do reserve there poolside seats! Here the management did keep their rule of not reserving and moved towels if no one on the bed after about half an hour! So well done. Rooms are cleaned and made up every day. We had our granddaughter come over the 2nd part of our stay and she loved the pool area and kids corner the hotel has its own kids club/nursery staff here are fantastic and although our granddaughter was not staying in the hotel they had no issues with her using the facilities. Also children under 4 years get a free lunch if you accompany them to the dining hall. The hotel is centrally located and close to the Safari Centre & beach. The television in our room offered BBC 1, BBC2, ITV and 5 and a movie channel, plus all news channels. This hotel is a fantastic base for anyone coming to Tenerife the only criticism I have is that the pool bar is a little on the expensive side and prices could do with being revised.
Myself and my wife stayed at this hotel from 3rd to 10th Sept 2017 , bead and breakfast room 3015 pool view . A lot of people say that the hotel is not 5* and I have to agree it in my opinion it is a 4* , however the hotel is very nice and we have no complaints all about the property or our stay. On arrival we we given a glass of Cava each and checked in , everything was explained to us cleary by the receptionist ( most staff speak very good english) and our bags were taken to our room by the porter. The room was a good size with a large double bed plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, big screen tv with a good selection of channels , free safe .. we were told you had to hire fridge but ours was open so well it got filled .. nice and cold, the room also had a big bathroom with bath shower etc , nothing complicated a..bout the controls .. just hot and cold taps...my wife said the hairdryer was rubbish , so ladies be warned... no tea making or iron etc .. but you can request from reception. it was very warm whilst we were there and I am pleasedf to say the room had good aircon and was a welcome icebox when we returned after a day out. nice balcony with good view of the pool and entertainment area .. we relaxed in the eveing with wine and a snack , perfect . Breakfast was very good .. qualty and selection no complaints Pool area excellent and you can also use the sister hotel Cleopatra Palace Hotel pool facilities so again somthing for everyone ....no complaints and whilst we were there , plenty of room / sunbeds we didnt have dinner so cant comment on that . There was entertaiment each evening , not amazing but easy listening for the more mature audience .. no disco ahhhhh peace !! Location couldnt be better vast array of shops bars etc within short walking distance word of warming here , if you want a drink dont just sit down and order check prices first we gt stung a couple of times with a jug of sangria varying between €16.50 and €8.95 this includes food also , so unless budget isnt an issue .. check first. for the sports lovers among you there is the Players Lounge .. go through back gate from hotel turn left walk along the path over roundabaout and continue round ( its a bit of a walk ) if you look across you will see white buildings and 1 bar with blue umbrellas .. players lounge is next door .. football showing nice food cocktails 2 for 1 cheap beer . i dont like football but went just for food and drink ..recommended...supermarket and local shop drink , perfume etc prices amazingly cheap.. Nice seafront walks .. you can access either frm main street or by walking through pool area to gate at back of hotel .. card entry/exit there is a market in los cristianos tuesdays and sundays. taxis are plentyful but another warming .. if you take a taxi watch for the diver hitting the AIRPORT TAX button even when you are not going there its a thing a few do to make extra fare .. So to finish , hotel clean tidy well presented nice staff no complaints , great facilities , good food , local area excellent clean and safe, good low profile police presence but never saw and problem or even heard a siren .. .. Only downside .. I left my wallet in the hotel room so hotel manager if you read this please check lost property for room 3015 3-10/09/17 it has cards and my driving licence in .. all cancelled but would still like it returned if possible......
We stayed at the Mediterranean Palace Hotel for 10 days on a B&B basis and this was our first time to Tenerife. The transfer from the airport via shuttle was approx 30mins. The hotel rooms are a good size, in need of a few updates here and there but perfectly fine and bathrooms a decent size with towels refreshed as required (I would advise taking your own hairdryer). There is also a radio in the bed stand which plays into the bathroom too. We booked a sea view, which also had a pool view and overlooked the evening entertainment and therefore if you did want to sit on the balcony, relax and have a drink you could. There were lots of options for breakfast and they catered for all dietary requirements. We didn't have any evening meals here as we like to eat out. There was never a problem finding a sunbed around the pool and the pool didn't seem crowded at any point as it is huge, inflatables are only allowed in the two smaller pools. At the back of the hotel is a gate which takes you directly onto the sandy beach which was very clean. If you walked to the left for 5mins there was another sandy beach with inflatable games and another less inviting shingle/rocky beach to the right with lots of people surfing. The options for eating out are endless and on your doorstep, for lunch we tended to stick to the beach end as it was cheaper and in the evening go out the front of the hotel, we visited most the restaurants outside the front during our stay, the only restaurant i wouldn't visit again was mamma mia. The hotel also has a small shop and vending machine for drinks this is a bit more expensive then the supermarkets nearby but convenient. There are lots of excursions which can be booked in the hotel. We don't tend to visit the same place twice but if we come to Tenerife again we would definitely stay here again the location is perfect.
This is an excellent hotel with great facilities, friendly and helpful staff and in fabulous location. The rooms are great and the pool/sea view is worth paying a bit more for. The rooms are decent size and are well equipped.
