We were surprised with the size of the rooms! It was very spacious, very clean and the balcony overlooking the garden was quite spacious. We also forgot to send the hotel a request for a crib but we were surprised when they had one in the room nicely set up for our little one already! We asked for a high chair in our room too, which they kindly provided without a fuss. The turtle pond and the huge grounds were a hit to the little one too. Couple of small niggles: some of the hotel staff are rude and the food in the hotel is not as good.
I cant recommend this hotel enough, the room (deluxe double, garden view) was clean and modern. Plenty of space for my wife & I over our 9 night stay. The hotel itself is stunning with plenty of attention to detail. The pool and gardens are great to relax in with plenty of sun all day. The pool staff and life guards were great, top customer service and excellent mango daiquiris. We had the breakfast every morning, plenty of options and good coffee. We have never been to Santa Cruz or Tenerife before but when we ate back we know exactly where we will be booking.
We've been there for 9 days and it's the best hotel in Santa Cruz. I've been there almost 5 times on different hotels and for sure, this was the best. The breakfast and the bar was the best places of the hotel. You can find a lot of variety in the breakfast with high quality.
We took my dad here, who suffers from Parkinson's for his final holiday. The staff were very helpful and accommodating of him. They provided us with a wheelchair when he found it hard to walk. Organised a doctor callout when he was feeling unwell. The pool staff helped lift him up and put him down in his sundbed, and even called around through the hotel one day when he went missing after a trip to the toilet. They were very caring and helpful. The hotel is well located, you can pretty much walk everywhere. We hardly ate in the hotel, but the local restaurants had amazing food and some were very cheap. They are all a short walk, around 10 minutes maximum away. The weather was also great. I would definitely recommend coming here.
This hotel is more suited to weddings and conferences . The air conditioning did not work that well, but was clean and tidy. The food was nothing to write home about with reference to evening meals looked like it was pre prepared and then reheated.
Outstanding across the board! Clean, friendly, helpful. Car rental in hotel. Central to everything. Free rides to main beach. Great breakfast. Great restaurant near by. GPS around the island. 45 min to other side.
-----//----Good atmosphere, kind staff, very good breakfast, you feel comfortable and relaxed, good pool aerial in general I was satisfied with everything, I live it and I recommended as a h quality -----///---
Can't speak highly enough about this hotel in terms of location, staff, facilities. The room (go for one overlooking gardens - important) was spacious enough, good comfortable bed/pillows, and bathroom facilities also very good. All were very clean and bright décor. Food in various locations was excellent, including breakfast, and pretty good value for money too. A walk into the older area of the city takes about 10-15 minutes, so very convenient. All staff, from reception, to bars, house, particularly friendly and always offering a genuine greeting and willingness to help. Top marks from us, and certainly would use again if, or even when staying in Santa Cruz again.
I think if you have a suite with a nice view, your review might be different than mine. Overall, my stay was fine, my room was more like a cave, even though I had a balcony, it was on the street side where the garbage and recycling pick up was, and also the employee break area, so I kept my doors closed to keep out the noise. The hotel is in a somewhat convenient location, about a 15-minute walk from the old town walking area. The staff were helpful to a degree, but they seemed overwhelmed at times and the few simple things I did ask they couldn't make happen.
This is my third stay at this beautiful hotel. From the moment you walk in the door you feel a lovely touch of colonial style. There is a charming atmosphere of class and high society. I love the rooms, and it is a delight to find real duvets. The beds are soo comfortable. Some might say that the rooms are not so big but they very tastefully decorated and with spacious bathrooms. My personal favorites, are the ones facing the beautiful garden at the center of the hotel. Rooms offering view of the pool area surrounded by flowers and palm trees are also very nice. Street view, means quite a lot of noise from traffic passing by and although there are nice balconies it is not really worth saving a few pennies when you make your booking. Service is immaculate and I always enjoy relaxing on the outside terrasse in connection with lobby and pool bar. Check in is easy, friendly and efficient. Perhaps it would have been nice if somebody offered you a glass of cava or juice - like most other Iberostar hotels. Just a suggestion. That little extra which makes you feel special. Half board is highly recommended. Dinner is delicious and served by the table. Not a buffet. A delicious menu with several different choices. Everything very tasty. Breakfast not to be missed. You can even sit outside in the beautiful gardens under large parasols enjoying the tranquility and birds singing whilst enjoying some of all the different dishes from the morning buffet. To me, this is an oasis of piece in the middle of a bustling town. Thank you to all employees for making my stays at Iberostar Hotel Mencey so enjoyable.
