just got back from 7 nights of hell, grand national mornings when the chain drops for the pool, food drab and repetitive, maids rude, all action stopped at 11pm, entertainment poor, ok lets go, we arrived late at night check in was smooth then we went to our rooms 226 - 225, thought I had stepped back in time, very dull and boring, woke up in the morning went to breakfast found nothing I liked so thought would take my 10 year old daughter for a swim, there were loads of people out there, as we reached the people the chain dropped and they all sprinted like the grand national, all it required was a starter gun. we like to use lilo's and balls in the pool but these were prohibited, the pool was postage stamp size and looked nothing like the photo in the brochure, oh and the water fall was broke all the time we were there. was great entertainment watching people argue with the life guard about having balls in the pool that were the size of an egg. men in trousers for evening meals but not breakfast or lunch, didn't get that as woman could walk in there with their bottoms hanging out, even thought about wearing one of my wifes maxi dresses just to liven it up a bit. the staff were friendly enough apart from the maids, who were very rude and even one walked in on my son while he was on the throne. my son is autistic and blew his top which then all of a sudden none of them maids spoke English. swimming pool full of black bits and very cloudy, after queuing for raw meat, sorry cooked meat while you wait by the time I got back to my table I had grown a beard. food not very lively and the same every night. received an email before we left stating about building work in the next door hotel, but forgot to mention there was work going on in our hotel and was very off putting, I thought I was staring in carry on abroad, can honestly say it was not the BEST hotel and will not be returning and would like to think they would learn and listen from these reviews, we had worked hard all year to save for this as you all do and we were very excited about going to Tenerife but felt very let down.
What a joy of a holiday😀. hotel, staff, fantastic and entertainment team amazing they made everybody feel involved and happy always smiling and making sure everyone had a great time, we hope the entertainment team stays together but said would be unlikely but this amazing hotel would always provide quality. We will be back. Cleanliness of the hotel amazing and room cleaners very polite and friendly.
We were 10 family members. We were placed in three rooms all next door to each other which was perfect. The rooms were spotless. The biggest problem we had was that the lifts aren't wide enough for a double buggy. We had to turn it sideways & carry it in. Impossible if you're on your own. On the plus side, loads of sunbeds. You could get one any time of day. (we suffered sunbed scramble in Salou....NEVER again!). The water cascade wasn't working in the pool which was disappointing, however there was strictly NO inflatable lilos etc allowed (which was great). Thought it a bit petty that an infant cant take a little plastic ball into the toddlers pool though. All in all...probably the best hotel we've visited in Tenerife.
Visited here with my family from the 28th July - 8th August. First impressions were great the hotel was really modern and clean. The location was great and central las Americas with great access to the shops and restaurants. There was also a supermarket next door which was very handy. Our room was on the first floor which was great however had not been refurbished like the higher floors our family had been placed in. However the room was clean and nicely presented so this didn't matter it wasn't modern. The only problem being is the rooms are a max of 3 and the refurbished rooms were quite a bit bigger. So other members of our family went in the bigger rooms as only a 2 with 2 wardrobes. Whereas we had to share 1 between 3 females which was a big squeeze. Our plugs in our room were either falling out or didn't work so charging our phones was also a struggle. The other problem was the company we flew with said most customers would be not near the building works going on and those near were assured it would not be noisy. However it was, but only in the day but when we visited the room it was fairly loud. The water in the hotel did go out one night but it mainly effected upper levels and only our floor at the end of the night making brushing our teeth hard and being unable to flush the toilet. Many of the staff were friendly especially the restaurant staff and the bar staff who were happy to help. There was one unfriendly female member behind the desk who pretended to order our taxis twice and was abrupt about it after we had to ask someone else, and then the taxis came. The pool was really nice and big with a shallow separate section which was good for my younger sister. However it did seem to have many black bits in. The food was very varied but none of our family seemed to like much so we ended up going out a fair few nights. The cheese a few nights had a blue green mould in it so we avoided this. An improvement in this area would be more detailed labels on food as to what it contains as many foods I wasted after only realising I didn't like after trying it because of some ingredients. The bar was great and had many spirits which you could pour yourself and this could not be faulted as the staff on it were great. Overall the appearance of the main hotel is great and we enjoyed our stay but improvements are needed throughout.
Stayed at this hotel back in April and couldn't have asked for anything more. The pool area was fantastic, lots of activities for children and adults but also perfect for relaxing too. Hotel was located in an excellent location, near to shops, restaurants, short walk from the beach and nightclubs. Staff were very friendly especially those who worked in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Good choice of food and nice comfortable rooms.
We have just returned from a 2 week stay at hotel Best Tenerife. To be honest we made the best of our holiday because we had looked forward to it so much and saved so hard for it. But in reality and on reflection the hotel was terrible and it has been the worst experience we have had in years. Our room had no air conditioning during our 2 week stay and this made it unbareable. We did get a small fan but this was ineffectual and just pushed the hot air around. We had cockroaches in our bathroom and a strange looking insect nest on the balcony that seemed to become active at night, making us shut our patio door! Can you imagine how hot it was! The food was dire. I usually find something to eat but If you had a adversion to raw fish and girkins or veal stew there was very little choice. In addition the restaurant had a real Butlins feel to it, which really does not reflect their long trouser policy! The restaurant/canteen had no air conditioning and so if you were at the back it was stifling and claustrophobic. The snacks on offer in the pool area were repetitive and bland! You have got a constant cycle of hotdogs, plain burgers in a bun or cheap cheese pizza and chips. There was no salad or onions to liven it up. You had to pay extra for cocktails in a glass or you had to settle for the 2 instant machine ones in a plastic cup. It all seemed very cheap! As a result of all this, we spent most of our spending money on eating out! We might as well have been self catering. The pool area is very crowded and if you are not prepared to enter the sunbed race at 9 am you had to negotiate your way round to find a single bed to share. The pictures in the brochure did not reflect the real size or pool area either. It looks massive in the brochure and I do not know where the thatched bar has gone? There are no ball games or lilos allowed due to safety reasons in the pool. However no one challenged young children that were allowed to swim in the pool unaccompanied in the dark while the entertainment was on. Needless to say we will not be returning to this hotel. I hope readers believe that this is not just a moan for the sake of it, I have never left a review before but I do feel very strongly that people need to know the truth. We all work hard to go on holiday and deserve a much better deal than the one served up to us here!
We have just returned from a really good week in Tenerife. It isn't often that we can book a holiday that suits an age range from 3 to 87 years but this one did. We did initially wonder what kind of holiday we would have when our party was split all across the hotel. Our elderly relatives were in new rooms with walk in showers really good air con lifts to everything brilliant for those with mobility issues. Our room was not great it was dark with what looked like mould near the air con unit with an awful smell of damp. We immediately went back to reception who offered us another room which was better but on the 6th floor and was much smaller than we booked. We went back and they did move us to a better room on the 2nd floor over looking the pool. The air con was hopeless but at least the room was much better. The sun bed run in the morning was crazy I am so surprised someone wasn't hurt as there was a mad dash to get sun beds which was so sad given there was plenty of sun beds and umbrellas for everyone. The life guard did remove towels between 9 and 9.30 so beware they were also very strict about inflatables and balls which weren't allowed in the pool. The food was varied there was always something for everyone. Breakfast in particular was very good. The entertainers work really hard to entertain our 3 year old thought they were great he really enjoyed the foam party. Overall a good week the hotel looks like it is in the process of renovation but didn't bother us to much the quality of the new rooms was great. We would return .
Two week stay 25th July - 8th Aug. poor quality Hotel Rooms We stayed in the Family Rooms as 6 of us. mould, damp, dirty, smelt, work men in corridor working early am. fruit at breakfast had flies on them. food not very warm, But Entertainment team were very good, they kept our 4 children very entertained, lovely people
Got back on Tuesday from a 7 night stay. Just want to say that, after reading some of the negative reviews on best tenerife, I was concerned about the accommodation and food, especially with my 9 yr old being a fussy eater. However, I just want to say that we had a fantastic wk, our room and massive terrace were spotlessly clean, maybe a bit dated, but it was comfortable and well maintained. The dining room was well organised and there was always something we all enjoyed eating. The evening entertainment was relaxed, friendly and really good fun. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole wk. Will definately be returning next year!!
This is a very detailed review of the Hotel Best Tenerife! We have just returned after staying at the Best Tenerife from the 25th July 17 - 8th Aug 17, we found this to be a good all round hotel for the money. Upon arrival at around 7PM we were quickly checked in by reception and told about all the amenities and the essential information we needed to know. We booked a safe which was about £40 + £10 deposit for the 2 weeks stay, we were booked into room 206 which overlooked some building work on the left of the hotel but this did not distract from the holiday itself. The safe did not work as advised so we let reception know and they sent a guy who advised one of the keys were not working as it should and to press a little harder than usual to activate the code we had preset. The room itself was NOT one of the newly renovated rooms but this did not bother us at all as the room was pleasant and the decor was to a decent standard. We had read reviews of poor decor and crumbling walls but did not see any of this ourselves. You are welcomed with some complimentary items in the fridge which was a nice gesture after a 4hr flight and transfer from the airport, we had a twin bed room which was sufficient to house my wife and I and our 12yr old daughter, the balcony was also a good size to allow the three of us to sit out of an evening and enjoy the sun setting in this side of the hotel. One issue was the AC which was more like a coldish fan blowing into the room, this could have been a little better given the scorching weather we experienced. We had enough time to eat some dinner and venture to the pool bar to catch some evening entertainment after arrival, if traveling all inclusive you have an open bar with self serve drinks which is a nice touch. In the mornings you do get some guests trying to reserve sun loungers as early as 9AM but the hotel do have a policy where, before 9:30 if you aren't on your lounger then your belongings may be removed as they try to avoid reserving loungers which is great and promotes fairness. One gripe may be that they could do with more parasols as these get taken quickly and by people who try to use 4 parasols to 3 sunbeds! The pool is fantastic and can be enjoyed by adults and children alike, the shallower pool is aimed towards the younger kids whilst the deeper pool is good for most ages. We read bad reviews about the food at the hotel before we arrived and can honestly say they were unfounded, the food is varied and they have theme nights to allow the sampling of Chinese, Italian, Japanese food etc, it's the normal buffet style but you can get cuts of meat grilled in front of your eyes too. We had the pleasure of trying grilled shark, octopus, grilled tuna and plenty of veal. The hotel is close to plenty of shops, there is a supermarket next door along with a Spanish Style shop selling everything from cheap drinks to souvenirs. There are 2 beaches within a 5-10min walk from the hotel too so if you want to venture into the sea you can, I would recommend this too. The staff are all very friendly and very efficient at their jobs, I would like to extend our thanks to the night management team after a disturbance across from our room at 02:45AM caused me to complain at the front desk, they were very quick to assure me that the situation would be dealt with and they were right, they sorted the noise complaint out very quickly. The restaurant and bar staff do a very good job at taking care of you and are very polite and courteous. The animacion staff do a magnificent job at entertaining not only the kids, but the adults all day from 10AM right through until 11PM, we also read bad reviews of the evening entertainment and I can honestly say my family enjoyed all of the entertainment we had every evening. We loved it so much we have booked again to go next year for the same 2 weeks in 2018, I would recommend this hotel for both couple's and families with kids of all ages.
