This is the third time I have stayed at Best Tenerife but have to say its gone downhill considerably! No floats or balls were allowed in the pool - how do you explain to a 2 year old that he can't play with his ball in the water?! Countless families arriving everyday all ready with their floats, to be turned away from the pool. The kids pool is a tiny puddle so you have to stick yourself on a chair in between sun worshippers to watch your kids while they paddle in the "big pool". The entertainment was an absolute shambles (or non-existent), apart from the Kids Mini Disco which the kids seemed to enjoy! There seemed to be no structure to the kids activity timetable. I feel that Best Tenerife has become very old and tired - the exterior of the hotel looked dirty and the rooms have become shabby. Our toilet flush didn't work when we first arrived. Some staff were polite and others spoke to you like they had a brush up their backside! You also got the feeling that staff couldn't be bothered with the "all inclusive" guests but were on hand immediately for other guests who were "paying as they went". Bizarre really considering people have spent thousands of pounds for the "all inclusive" band to be treated like second class! I wouldn't go back to Best Tenerife. Feel quite sad because it once was a lovely well sought after hotel, but I feel Best have become complacent and lazy in their former popularity.
Brilliant hotel stayed 4 days over New year friendly staff spotlessly clean we had a massive balcony which my fiancee loved would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone who fancies a short or long break
Without doubt the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, air con didn't work, lights out at 11pm, fun was banned and its supposed to be a family place, food was vile and basically slop, no children's section so they spoon from the buffet bowls then decide they don't want it so throw it back, if you're all inclusive you still have to pay to get a proper drink, ie cocktails or branded spirits, rooms were damp, smelly and dirty, pool was never cleaned, I'd rather put my tongue in a wasp nest than visit again! There was no room around pool but kids cant play anyway. I could go on all day with nothing good to say about it but you'll only bull it off with no chance of my reply. If this is a 4 star place then I'm the Queen of Jamaica.
Booked a senator room, thought I was going to get something a little more for my money, was slightly disappointed. I hate to think what the non senator rooms looked like. Good points: Food, restaurant and bar staff and house keeping could not be faulted Negative points: Reception staff very brusque, not helpful. Pool area: Horrible, too much patio furniture and sunbeds cramped into a concrete sun trap, the area was geared up for the kiddies. Pool freezing cold. As the hotel is an AI and the bars open at 1000 hours - 2300 hours, I am afraid there was an awful amount of inebriated people wandering around the hotel. Children running freely through the hotel with no parents in sight. The lifts appeared to be a good object for them to ride and play with. Would not use this hotel again.
This hotel generally oscillates between good and bad in equal measure. The major selling point is definitely the food - which is excellent. At every meal there was plenty of choice, with fresh seafoods, meats, salads and lots of variety. The gala dinners at Christmas and New Year's Eve were fantastic, and to be recommended highly. The drinks throughout the hotel were also good for all inclusive guests. Another positive were the restaurant staff and maids who were courteous and very attentive. The rooms were always clean too. The major disappointment was the pool area. It is very small for the size of the hotel, and outdated. It is backed by a high wall that makes it all feel very hemmed in. The pool itself is tiny and seems to cater exclusively for children. I can only imagine how packed the pool area must be at the height of summer. The beach is about a 5 min walk away and is well worth going to as a much better alternative. Another downside were the reception staff, they always seemed quite rude and brusque and were at odds with the rest of the staff. It did not give the best first impression of the hotel. Overall, I had a really good holiday but the hotel was a slight let down, and I probably would not stay here again. If you are not travelling with children, I would not bother staying there either.
Very Good Hotel, Food Excellent, Cleaning Excellent, Staff Exellent, Annimation Very Good, Only Let Down By Poor Evening Entertainment Provided By The Hotel, But Would Still Go Back To The Hotel Because Of The Above.
Booked this for winter Family sun Looked a great hotel for children online. I have a 16 year old 10 year old and 3yr old And 2 oldies being the parents I feel this hotel is more of an adults hotel. The pools are great however freezing at this time of year. The shallow pool for young children is a bit warmer but not by much No slides for children no play park Inflatables not allowed in pool even though they are sold in hotel shop We are all inclusive. I've been on a few all inclusive holidays not so impressed with this I love coffee. Coffee is not very nice Coffee machine very poor No kettle in room or tea and coffee. If u want a kettle you have to hire it through reception and it comes from other providers outside of hotel Too much hassle for me Every other holiday I've been on has these facilities Alcohol ok. If you want spirits and cocktails like back home you only have to pay 2 euro a cocktail and 1 euro a spirit that was quite good as I don't like foreign alcohol that much. The oldies loved the foreign stuff Food in my opinion was very poor and even worse if you have children with allergies. Most places I've been hand you a folder with all food and ingredients in them. Peanut allergy is easy to avoid here egg allergy not so great When I asked staff they had no idea what I was on about When got restaurant manager he didn't help that much either Hot food just gave you title like burger sausage etc. Not ingredients. Puddings had no description so couldn't give my daughter many puddings just the jelly and Ice cream I hated the food lots of tomato based dishes loaded with garlic I have a sensitive stomach and can't really eat garlic and sauces so not much to eat for me really. The oldies loved the food I cook a lot at home And comparing it to other holidays this is the worst food for me. Soggy veg bland food or too much garlic and food is always cold. I hate cold food My room was huge and ok apart from no coffee facility. The oldies said there room was very small and very dated . We were on ground floor they were on 1st floor Booked trips through Thomas cook before we arrived. Siam park good as includes transport However Loral park transport not included and cost us £140 euro to get there for 7 of us Entertainment at night ok but more for adults than children La Siesta hotel across the road looks a far better hotel pool wise anyways! It's s jet 2 hotel . Had a park and pirate ship and slides. If I decide to come back to Tenerife that's prob where I would go Inside hotel also looks more superior and kitted out for kids indoors All that's indoors here is 2 pool tables one of which is out of order and a pathetic games room where the stacker game is just about done! Hotel is very central to pubs bars clubs etc. This area is quite quiet so don't hear any outside noise! Beach is at bottom of road However not a good beach in my opinion Sea very rough sand black nearly and very stoney and gritty! Good hotel for older people and young people with no young children. Very clean and staff are friendly enough! However I will not be returning to this particular hotel again
Fabulous hotel clean and friendly in great location, upgraded to senator room it was lovely even had pillow menu couldn’t fault it.The food was very good and the Christmas lunch was fantastic will return in the summer
I was a little undecided about our Hotel after reading the reviews as different people have different thoughts however we have just returned from 10 nights staying at the Best Tenerife in Playa Las Americas. What a fantastic time we had my wife & I travelled 18th December to the 28th December we arrived mid morning and checked in at the reception where the staff were very efficient and very polite we were allocated our room on the 2nd floor with both a pool and sea view the room was excellent extremely large beds, mini bar which we didn’t use apart chilling our bottled water (free at the bars) we quickly unpacked changed and went to check out the hotel facilities. We were all inclusive and we weren’t disappointed we had three different bars, main bar, pool bar and function room bar which were all self help brilliant no queues had what I wanted when I wanted the bars were open 1000hrs - 2300hrs full range of drinks wines spirits cocktails beers soft drinks including tea or coffee. We had a lunch time snack at the pool bar very tasty with plenty of choice. Gentlemen have to wear long trousers in the evening when going for Dinner we were greeted at the door and allocated a different table every evening ( drinks were served in the evening) a choice of Wines soft drinks or cold beers. The restaurant staff were very friendly and very polite it was all self help in the restaurant with an array of starters soups salads main choices with live cooking stations cooked to order plus a dessert bar plus cheese and biscuits. We were impressed with the amount of choice and quality of food through out our holiday. The staff went out of their way to ensure people were looked after every meal but with out a shadow of doubt Christmas Day Dinner was absolutely fantastic the Dining Room was dressed beautifully and the waiting staff spoilt us the Chefs excelled themselves. The pool facilities were fantastic two pools plus two small jacuzzi pools plenty of sun beds were always available, we decided to try the Spa (additional costs) but very good value for money. We went out for walk every day along the beach and along to the shops and in the evening to a few local bars so many choices. The hotel entertainment wasn’t the best but it is difficult to cater for everyone the Animation Team didn’t seem to organise things through the day which was disappointing and the children were not allowed to have inflatables in the pools. All in all we had an absolutely fantastic holiday and will not hesitate to come back to this area the Best Tenerife Hotel is amazing well done to the whole Team. I am unable to rate the service room and sleep quality 10 out 10
We were slightly worried after booking as seen a few bad reviews on here all be it most were very good. When we arrived we headed to reception to check in only to realise I had booked a twin room! I asked if they had any double rooms expecting to pay slightly more but the lady at reception went to check and said they had one on the first floor and that it wouldn’t cost any more, got to the room and it was huge and on two floors, the lower floor was the bathroom and lounge area with doors to the huge terrace (the view wasn’t the best but that didn’t bother us). The second floor was the bedroom. Both the lounge and bedroom had TVs with access to all the UK channels. The location of the hotel was perfect, a 2 minute walk and you were on the main strip, we ended up going out every night as it was so close. The pool area was great although the water was freezing most likely due to the time of year, there was always sun beds. the food was brilliant, not as much choice as there would be in the summer months but quality was great. The entertainment wasn’t the best but we only went one night as went out every other night. All in all I can definitely say we will be back with our 2 year old next time we visit Tenerife!
