Tegucigalpa Marriott Hotel

It is big and opulent, not by Marriott standards, necessarily, but in Tegucigalpa it seems a little flashy. I checked in on a Saturday evening and was upgraded as a Gold to the Executive Floor. One lamp didn't work, and a hair was on the tub; otherwise, it was a nice, quiet room. In the lobby bar there was a DJ, but I wasn't too impressed. It was the same stuff I'd expect to hear at a club in Vegas. If you want some local color (and good food), go to the pupusas restaurant across the street. Their pupusas are excellent, and it is a safe place frequented by locals.

We were expecting the usual Marriott standard but that just not happened on our visit. First when checking in we were told Internet and breakfast would be additional charges, although we booked an executive premium room with those included. This was later corrected. Then when preparing to go for dinner, we were told that the hotel restaurant was closed for the entire week (Semana Santa).....leaving just the bar basic food or room service options....We went to the bar and got some very average sandwiches but had to leave fast as the place was so cold (about 16-17 degrees).....Tegucigalpa is not a city you can just go and walk around to find a restaurant at night, so when you pick an Hotel like the Marriott you certainly expect that the restaurant will be open! Then when we used the laundry service, one item (that was the one most needed) was returned "not processed" because there was a stain (!)....well, that was the whole point of sending it for washing and pressing....They offered to "process it' the next day, but as we were checking out the next morning that was not possible. No water bottles were provided in the room which is unusual in Central America. On the plus side, the staff was very polite and Rolin especially friendly and helpful. The bed was also very comfortable and the hotel is very clean throughout.

A great hotel for a romantic spa weekend. The staff were very attentive, especially the ladies at the spa. The breakfast buffet had everything we needed and we were well taken care of. We will definitely repeat the experience.

This is a great Hotel to stay in if you are ever in Honduras. Great staff. I upgraded for 35$ to an oversized room on the 12 floor . With 24 hour pool, sauna and steam room. Breakfast and happy hour on the concierge floor. They even transported me to the hospital to pick up my patient and then took us to the airport. Security is always present. Every 2 hour shuttle to the mall for shopping. And only 20 min to airport. Very clean

This was an excellent experience for my family. Food, people and rooms are excellent. The people at front desk were very professional and kind. Mr. Aristades and Mr. Harold were very kind and helpful with my family. They helped us to make our trip amazing. The food at the restaurant was delicious and very well presented. The service was excellent. The chief Palapa was kind and professional as well. I really recommend this hotel to families and singles. It is the best hotel in Tegucigalpa. It is very friendly, secure, clean and organized. Honestly, all the employees in this hotel live the hotel's theme "welcome Home". They make you feel welcome.

Really enjoyed my time here at the Marriott. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I specifically enjoyed my time at Winners. Jorge and Jimmy are wonderful. They are both very attentive and are always in a cheerful mood. The Marriott also has their own taxis that are clean and the drivers are extremely honest. I forgot my cell phone in the back seat and the driver came all the way back to the restaurant where he left me to bring me my phone. Highly recommend the Marriott Tegucigalpa.

Nice location, nice facility, and good service. The gym was great, and we had a catered barbecue poolside that was well done for our large party. I recommend the VIP louange services, and a convenient American Airlines Rickey office in the lobby area.

The staff was just wonderful, from the front desk(Karla-Nicole) to the people in the restaurant, or the pool..or at the door. Easy access to the town with all the taxis, just ask for a driver who speak english if Spanish is not your forte, he will stay with you as you visit the museum or go shopping. The concierge was so helpful from a stain on the laundry to where to go in town. Right on the corner, great restaurant, with amazing food. overall we had a great stay.

Stayed at this hotel for our lodging during a medical mission. There were over 100 in our group from all over the world this place surpassed our expectations. The rooms are clean and spacious. The beds are thick and comfortable with expensive linens. Endless hot water in shower. There are two restaurants downstairs, room service and dining for large parties. The spa offers many excellent services such as hot stone massage. The executive lounge has breakfast and dinner with the excellent service of Rocio. The front desk manager Aristides Castillo was around often and made sure our stay was perfect.

Pleasant stay at this Marriott. Older feel to building. Nothing truly spectacular about the site other than pool which is really nice. Lobby is average with a coffee bar, sports bar and restaurant. The sports bar gets crowded in the evening. 3rd floor is the shining star of location. Nice gym , lovely pool and great staff. Rooms are average. There are no good views unfortunately. The 11th floor houses the executive lounge for HH honors members. Great staff. I would return.
