Ease of parking Excellent service and great buffet dinner. Very comfortable bed...we overslept! Beautiful views across the lake to the hills. Convenient to town centre and splendid Te Anau Golf course where we hired a golfcart to play their picturesque treed fairways with good greens.

The door to the room didn't shut properly. Attended to at the time with some improvement. By day 2 the door didn't shut properly again. On check out the person on reception was dismissive. The door to the bathroom had hinges that needed attention. Again, staff member was dismissive.

The Kingsgate is located a short walk from the town centre, on the lake front. It has a restaurant attached for breakfast / dinner. Staff were very friendly. The room itself was a bit dated, especially the bathroom could do with an update, but the bed was very comfortable.

Great location

Overall the hotel was very pleasant to stay in. There are a few factors which knock the score down, like there is only stairs to go to the second floor so you have to carry all your luggage up the stairs. Also the shower was a little weird, the tub was lifted, making the shower head hit pretty low. The drain also didnt drain too great. Otherwise, the hotel is in a perfect location, it was clean, quiet, and there was plenty of parking. Overall I would stay here again.

The room was comfortable and we had a good night's stay. Altho it is located just across the street from Lake Te Anu the view from our room (& all others?) was of a parking lot, not the lake. Lake views were nice in the restaurant, but breakfast was an additional cost. Staff were flexible in letting us ck out an hour late.
