Well above the average backpackers! Staff were fab. Photos do not do these rooms justice. Beds were comfy, amazing pillows. Had everything we needed.

The room was quite old, moldy, and in poor condition. The sink was filthy, the soap dispenser was broken, and the water tap couldn't be properly turned off. The bed linens were old and bit dirty. However, the location and communication were great.

Clean and tidy room with private bathroom and shower. One double and one single bed. A shared kitchen which had full amenities although I did not use these. A warm fire place in the shared lounge which another nice room guest added in more firewood which the warmth flowed into the dining/kitchen area. If you are looking for a simple, fuss free room for an overnight/long stay, can't go wrong here. Under 10mins drive into the city/beach/Mt Maunganui.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom room with toilet. It was basic as expected but we still found it very comfortable and very good value. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I would have no problem with staying here again.

Went out of our way to go check in and no one was available at 3pm. Multiple people queueing up to check in with no one in the office to help, even contacted the help number on the door and waited around for 20mins but no reply. Room was super hot with no fan and nearly impossible to sleep. Also had no toilet paper in our private bathroom. Only stayed there one of our 3 nights booked.

Found a massive cockroach in the room. Initially the overwhelming smell of what I thought was cleaning product made me happy to know the room had been cleaned but it didn't dissipate.
