Words just can’t express how overwhelmingly happy we are with our stay with the Great Western Hotel, Taunton. The building itself is beautiful and lovingly kept, with every aesthetic detail exuding style and quality! Our room was lovely with stylish decor and little touches like a real cafetière, instead of instant coffee, made it feel more personal. Breakfast was high quality and again, personalised! The staff were more than happy to fully adjust the menu to meet our preferences and were just delightful. I feel very strongly that the staff deserve a special thank you… each and every member of their team went above and beyond to make myself and my daughter feel welcome and comfortable. My very nervous daughter was about to sit her first GCSE in Taunton, hence the overnight stay, and the staff were just so beautiful with her and really helped to reassure her. She went off to the exam centre beaming! In addition to all of this- they allowed us to use their parking, free of charge while we went into the town for lunch after the exam. I have stayed in many hotels over the year, but this little gem is by far the best yet. I can’t recommend enough. A huge thank you for making a potentially stressful trip a pure delight! ❤️

A perfect stay.

We came by rail. The choice of food was perfect. A smaller kettle would have been an advantage - to fit better under the tap. Also a larger coffee pot, so that it contained a 'top up'. One of the best hotels we have stayed at. Thankyou.

Lovely hotel with beautiful rooms. Very interesting history. Handy for town , 5 mins walk, hundreds of different restaurants Lovely to have decent tea and coffee facilities in our room, with delicious biscuits. A really pleasant little hotel, very handy for the Station – just opposite. Staff are extremely friendly

English breakfast is excellent. Staff is very friendly. The shower screen is only half way so water sprays outside to the wall and floor. The firedoor upstairs at the top of the stairs is kept open and the firedoor along the corridor doesn't close properly. These need attention for fire regulations.

Clean, friendly & comfortable.

Very welcoming from young lady at reception, room clean & comfortable with good shower, although could do with rubber safety mat as quite slippery. Good breakfast with quick service from same young lady, seems she was running the place single handed, a good jib shr was doing too. Would certainly stay again.
