My two week stay here was terribly mediocre. There are better options available in Tashkent. I would only advise staying here if necessary. Pros: 1. Friendly service. 2. Central location. Cons: 1. Terribly slow internet. VOIP was not possible most of the time. 2. The hotel is in need of a general updating, including a thorough carpet cleaning. 3. Room service is of a terribly low quality. 4. Check out was painfully slow. Will likely avoid in the future.
The rooms are are big and very well look after you have everthing you could want in them one little fault if you are older the show is in the bath and the bath side was quite tall .The beds were very comfortable . Down in the dinning room the food was very nice and a very good selection you could get a freshly made omlette to your own liking will the chef made it infront of you all the dinning room staff could speak english and were very good at cleaning the tables as you finished one thing and then started again if you left your table your dirty plates were moved very fast and they would bring you anything you asked for all staff were very good would recomend this hotel to any body glad we stayed their
Stayed here 2 nights and mostly was a very good experience. I would ask that they improve their luggage delivery to your room. We arrived in the evening waited for our luggage to be delivered and when it did not appear after half an hour went to reception to get the luggage ourselves. 3 male members of staff behind the reception desk watched us struggle to get our cases from a large trolley and made no effort to help us, very disappointing.
We are with 10 journalist/photographers, I think Wyndham is the best hotel in Tashkent, the staff is very nice and friendly, you feel very welcome. The rooms are very nice and everything you need to have a plaisant stay is there. The breakfast is one of the most complete breakfasts I ever saw, so much choice, so fresh, just not enough words to describe it. Well done Wyndham en Mrs Windham :-)
First, the staff was absolutely outstanding and very professional. Everyone was always smiling and so attentive. We definitely felt like they wanted to make sure we had a great stay. That being said, there were several major issues with the property. First, the ATM machine they have took $200 out of my account, but I never received any cash back. The staff said this happens a lot with ATMs around Uzbekistan. Nonetheless, now I'm still waiting for them to refund my Bank Card. Second major issue is the AC which for some odd reason, they shut down at night! The room felt like a sauna, really hot, and very uncomfortable sleeping conditions. You would think that they shut it down during the day and keep it on when the guests are here, but they do the opposite which make absolutely no sense. I barely got 3 hours of sleep on our three night stay. Last bad issue was at the spa where I paid for a one hour massage ($60USD) and the therapist stopped after only 40 minutes. Since she didnt speak English, there were no explanations given to me. Also, $60/hour is actually more expensive then the $50/hour we get in Florida, which is outrageous considering the cost of living here. Overall, this is a pretty well kept property with an ideal location, and phenomenal staff members. That being said, being out $200 from the ATM, the high charges for a shortened massage, and the very poor sleeping conditions due to the AC shutdown at night, are the reason why I can't give this place a higher rating.
I had booked 2 nights at the Wyndham, at a favourable price but when I wanted to extend my stay the price had gone up a lot so I had to move on. Similar to City Palace the location is great, adjacent to the very expensive 5* Hyatt Regency, near Amur Timur museum and square, and in short walking distance to metro station and several major attractions. The rooms are spacious, floors are carpeted, safe deposit box, iron and ironing board for those who take care of their cloths by themselves. Shower is in the bathtub which can be completely closed but is a bit narrow. The biggest plus is the breakfast offered at Wyndham, the most extensive variety of dishes. The path to the gym and the indoor swimming pool takes a few turns, very strange. No draught beer available in the bar. Staff was friendly and helpful. All in all a 4* hotel, I would stay there again provided that the price is ok.
Wyndham is very well located if you have to be in Tashkent. Tashkent is a nice place to visit for a quiet holiday - a European wannabe with broad tree lined avenues & street cafes. Choice of food (even for vegetarians like us) is good.
Normal Stay, Pricey Room for what you get. Gym of the Hotel is Ok, Atmosphere at the pool is nice. Breakfast Choice is really great, but ridiculous to ask customers to pay if they would like Fresh Orange Juice.
Regular visitor to Tashkent but first time at the Wyndham. Turned out much better than expected due to superb service from the staff in particular the Duty Manager Veronika. Not often i do a review and rarely mention any of the staff. But Veronika turned what was becoming a poor stay into a good one, I had issues with the service level and had approached the staff. Veronika was exceptionally professional, great customer service skills and as a manger dealt with my issues with care concern but firmness. She is a gem, a star in the hotel that at times was more 3 star than 5 star. She is definitely a 5 star hotel manger! Thanks Veronika
The hotel was a little bit old but clean, the staff is very helpful and they speak English and Turkish. The equipment in the gym and the area was limited but the view was quite well (the view of open pool behind the large windows). The breakfast and the dinner was okay, you may find something for yourself from the open buffet.
