book through tour agency. - first reception (doorman) was very friendly and helpful. Counter ladies wasnt as pleasant. When I return at night, i ask for 2 more bottles of mineral water - They charge NDT 20 for a bottle, reception guy just passed to me over the counter. No receipt was given. Room was generally clean on surface but i develope rash after covering myself in the blanket. I won't recommend ppl to stay here lo...
The hotel is not as impressive as it looks in photos. It's an old hotel which needs some major improvements in service and room amenities. The airconditioner in the Quadruple room we got does not seem to get any cooler and we can not seem to enjoy a clear television reception. The only thing that worked for us is that the hotel offers free transfer service to Taoyuan Airport --- which was good since we had an early flight back home.
We were put up here by the airline after our flight delay. It took a little 20mins to get there via uber. So not very close to the airport. The room was very basic. But they provide some toiletries which is good since we were without our bags. We missed both dinner and breakfast but they have a restaurant. And a gym and pool apparently. It is about a 40min taxi to Taipei from there. Water pressure was good and hot. So fairly basic but clean at least.
We were greeted by fantastic bellboy who was super helpful. Had a very good impression right off the start - modern lobby & helpful service. Upon check in, received a key for my room. So surprising that even my kids asked hotels still use room key instead of card? I have to admit never been so nervous about the room we were getting! The good are room was spacious enough with 2 queen beds & it was clean. Location was surrounded by shops too. Bathroom was shockingly old, with a green bathtub with old tiles to match! It was so old it felt like a joke. The beds were rock hard and with more 80s duvets to match. For a night, we basically put up with it as we had early flight to catch. We will not be returning until some necessary upgrade is done.
Former Taoyuan Hotel renewed several years ago. However, only renewed 1F and elevators, the other rooms still remain unchanged, which means the facility is quite old. Considering their price, I don't think it is worthy. Although there are pool and gym in the 3rd floor, the facility is also old.
We stayed here, as it was selected as the "hotel of choice" for a family wedding, and it was less than desirable. Air conditioning did not work well, sheets were torn, very thin, and not large enough to tuck in. Cigarette holes in the bedding. Front desk staff were not bilingual during our stay... once in a rare while we would get someone who could speak English in person. We had much better luck calling on the phone and getting someone who spoke English. The valets were young and actually the most helpful of everyone, getting our baggage, getting us taxis, explaining to the taxi drivers where we wanted to go. The breakfast was terrible, and although it's free, don't waste your time going! I set the bar high, so know that when you read this evaluation, but I would never stay again.
Clean, comfortable hotel with some slightly dated decor (particularly their green bathtubs!) but friendly, bilingual staff at the front desk. Even the housekeeper smiled at us! The helpful staff really made the experience. Lots of local eateries nearby (though proficiency in mandarin will be very helpful, particularly in some of the smaller shops). Overall a relaxing and economical stay, with a free shuttle to the airport. [Note: I've read this is only the case for delivery to the airport. If you want airport collection there will be a charge.]
Smack isn't the middle of downtown Taoyuan, which is a sprawling mid-sized city with its own charm, but isn't really a tourist draw. The hotel is a bit dated with sorta tacky decor, but it's very clean and well-run. We had a huge suite with 2 double beds and large living room for about $3500NTD ($110USD). Plenty of cheap and yummy local eateries in walking distance (the Vietnamese place across the street is great) so consider giving the overpriced breakfast ($250 NTD or about $8USD/person) a miss unless it comes as part of your room package. The best part is the free shuttle to the airport (Keep in mind it's only TO the airport that's free. FROM the airport to the hotel runs about $500NTD or $16USD/taxi). Will stay again.
Old hotel. I've stay here like 5 times and the hotel has twice changed the names. The hotel been renovated but still left some rooms with the old style furnished. Overall it's quite convenient due it's location. They have dimsum buffet dinner with cheap price. Across the hotel there's a good barbecue resto.
Overnight stay Nice big room. Seperate badroom. 2 big kingsize beds and one big single bed for 2 adults and one child of 16 years old. So no complain. TV with maybe 2 out of many channels which English. Refrigerator, safe, closet, two chairs, table and no balcony. There was a nice view over Taipei.
