We had a truly amazing stay at Villa Ducale. After a long drive across Sicily, we were warmly welcomed with a glass of Prosecco and a glass of Sicilian beer. Our room - a top superior one was beautifully decorated and from the two terraces we had fantastic views of the bay and of Mount Etna. Every member of staff was so friendly and helpful, the service was superb, they all went out of their way to ensure we had a great time - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious with so much variety and choice of beautifully prepared sweet and savoury delicacies. The views from the dinning room were also spectacular. My husband celebrated his 70th birthday here and we had a delicious dinner, beautifully prepared and served in the dining room overlooking Etna and the coastline. As the hotel is at the top of Taormina, the regular shuttle bus is very convenient and was always on time.Thank you all for an unforgettable stay.Top Superior with 2 balconies.
Fabulous hotel with the friendliest staff I have ever met in a hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful views of Mount Etna and the bay below. The hotel is on a hill above Taormina and the walk down the steps lined with wild sweet peas and other flowers was magical. Recommend returning by the free hotel shuttle though unless you are very fit.
Could hardly have been a better stay. From top to down, everything was very good and ticked all the boxes, down to the small details. It is a boutique hotel with character, big enough to feel the luxury and small enough to feel being looked after. Very nice rooms with amazing sea view, great breakfast, great food, great toiletries and the list goes on. The best of the best of Villa Ducale is its staff! From the valet to the manager, all staff are very friendly, very polite, very helpful and doing a super job and with a smile on the face always. Our experience was that great we decided to extend our stay as long as we possibly could.
We loved our stay at Villa Ducale! From the moment we arrived the wonderful team made us feel very welcome and presented us with a lovely glass of Prosecco and a local Sicilian beer which was a lovely touch after a day travelling! The views from the hotel are breathtaking and the staff were able to provide a wealth of knowledge of the local area which was great and very useful. The shuttle service is also a wonderful touch being a bit out of the Taormina town centre. We had decided to upgrade our room and had a wonderful terrace which had the weather been a bit better we would have been able to use a bit more. The breakfast we absolutely delicious with the chef making lots of pastries and some wonderful stuffed courgettes and tomatoes that for me were a highlight! The only reason I had not ranked this with 5stars was purely because whilst we were staying there one two occasions we had no hot water. The staff were very apologetic and did all they could to resolve the situation and did give us two bottles of wine as an apology which was very nice. Overall we absolutely loved our stay here and would recommend to anyone travelling to Sicily the staff, the food and the views make this a real gem and one not to be missed! I look forward to our next trip!
Enjoy every minute at the hotel in Taormina. There is a tea hour, happy hour, dinner. The views are so beautiful you won’t want to leave. The rooms are stunning. The service exceptional. They will park your car on the street if you don’t want valet. Such an incredible place. Breakfast is included and should not be missed. It was amazing.
The views from this hotel are breathtaking. You can see the coast line and the wonderful Etna on a clear day. When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded to a suite and were overwhelmed with the accommodation and private terrace. The attention of the lovely staff and service you receive at Villa Ducale is second to none. We quite like to look after ourselves sometimes and did find the attention to detail a little intrusive at times but that is just us and most people will love to be wait d on hand and foot! Not really a grumble - just an observation. We would highly recommend this hotel. There is a regular shuttle into town. I don’t think you could walk it. You are a little restricted with when you want to go into and leave town as this is dictated by the shuttle times but there isn’t really a way around this as they have to be organised so set times are the only way. The beauty and comfort of the hotel and the views certainly make up for this minor inconvenience
We stayed at Villa Ducale last summer and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The entire team went over and beyond to ensure every day was perfect. We highly recommend Villa Ducale to anyone heading to visit beautiful Taormina. The value quality experience/rate is incomparable. We will definitely be back!!
This was our second visit to Taormina. Several years ago we stayed at the beach and wanted to do something different this time. High above the city center and away from its tourist traffic, Villa Ducale is a wonderful boutique hotel with excellent service and food. From the moment we arrived until departure, the staff were friendly, efficient and genuine about making our stay a memorable one. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner (outstanding) overlooking the coastline below and observed the sun setting on Mt Etna from our room balcony. There is a shuttle to/from city center for those not wanting to make the journey on foot which is another nice touch.
The staff went above and beyond to ensure a personalised experience. They remembered our names, room numbers, drink preferences. All were friendly and all were always smiling. We cannot wait to return!
Terrific in all aspects, the room, the staff, the view, the food, the shuttle service. Can't say enough great things about this place. It's on the top of a hill, so you will have to take the bus, the shuttle or walk to get to town.
