The Villa Barone

It came as a bit of shock with the number of stairs to climb up with heavy bags to carry up and then again down. This could be really difficult for an elderly person. The manager did not understand much English which did make it difficult at times to explain things. It was just as hard for him as it was for us. Our room was huge especially the bathroom which was not needed and for that reason we had to pay another 30 euros a night more than our friends with a similar room. There was a dispute over the car parking and became a bit of an argument. My voucher stated free parking which is why I chose this hotel, but the manager wanted to charge 10 euros per day. The need to line up the prices with their booking companies. The cleaning of the rooms daily seems to be just a make of the bed, it was rare to see a vaccum cleaner or mop in the B and B. One day the maid left our room open while we were out, even the Manager denied this was possible. The view from this B and B were amazing over to Mt Etna and the manager was quite happy for us to set out our own food on the balcony which was a nice thing to do. I probably would not stay again because of the stairs and I also would not have a rented car, which sat in the car park due to the narrow roads and crazy drivers.

Fantastic views

Small B&B located on a winding road uptown from Taormina.Parking located across the street from b&b,in a small secure lot.Lobby and rooms located a flight of stairs up from street.No elevator.Rooms have nice views of town and Etna.Very quiet setting.Great buffet breakfast.Large air conditioned rooms.Ours had a huge terrace.Friendly staff.Steps leading down to town nearby. Only attempt to go down steps if you are physically fit.Use taxi to come back up from town.They use a flat rate system of around 10 euros.

Very plush

Is a very nice place to stay,but it is only a B&B,so no real aminities like a hotel,and if your on foot like we was you need to be quite fit to get to town center every day,it's not far but it's via numerous steps between the buildings,my wife counted them,well over 200,but it only took 10 minutes.Taorimina is the nicest town I've ever seen in my life,really worth a visit ,a little on the expensive side ,but very picturesque with some breath taking views and some beautiful little bays to visit on the coast via the cable car,we really loved it,

Great location - service could be better

We have had a pleasant stay in this B&B which only has 4 rooms. The locations is perfect - great view from all rooms to Etna. Unfortunately the service was a little disappointing: breakfast was OK - but you have to be the first on site to enjoy the full choice on limited selection. Room balcony did not have any sunshade and they organized one (low cost model = scrap). Water in the shower did not rinse and was not repaired during 5 days.

Genuint hotell med fantastisk utsikt!

Fantastiskt utsikt från vår balkong över Etna och havet!! Underbar personal! Bra frukost. Väldigt lugnt hotell, endast 4 rum, var nästan alltid ensamma vid poolen och vid frukosten! Bra parkering för att vara Italien! Ca. 10 min promenad ner till huvudgatan, dock backigt.

Ottimo per coppia giovane che vuole spendere poco

La stanza era molto bella e spaziosa, ottimo prezzo e soprattutto hanno un parcheggio privato che per Taormina vale oro! Colazione onesta, l'unico neo è che non è vicinissimo al centro (per tornare in albergo c'è un autobus che passa ogni 2 ore, l'ultimo passa a mezzanotte).
