This was my 1st trip to Tangshan and was recommended to stay in this hotel. The hotel is strategically located and a short walk to Wanda shopping mall. The check in was smooth and error free. The reception staffs were friendly and helpful. The room was beautifully design and its clean and everything look new. There is a purifier in the room. The bed is fantastic and sleep was great. The shower and toilet are separated. The fittings used are of high quality. The breakfast was good with a variety of food. Overall it was a great experience staying in this hotel and would recommend anyone visiting for business or for leisure
It`s very easy to find the hotel even take taxi, locating in city center,of course there was some traffic jam, but it is ok for me. Good first empression, greeted by doorboy and showed the way to check in and receptionist was nice and smile, yeah, i like it. Thanks the service team to deliver good service to me.
I stayed for three nights at the Intercontinental in Tangshan and loved the property and the quality of the room. Nevertheless, the reception desk had some people that were very rude some times. Either nobody spoke English or the ones that did, only gave short answers and the tone was out of place.
Stayed for 5 nights at a room at level 16 facing an apartment block of the same complex. Well appointed room with 40 channels on tv though most are in chinese from different provinces. English channels include a few news channels. Didn't try any facilities but the gym at level 6 seems well equipped. Breakfast spread is a good mix of western and local Chinese fare which I enjoyed every morning. I also found its location attractive for a city of Tangshan's scale. Surrounding includes a park opposite which is popular with locals during the morning and evening (a round around the park is abt 2km); the Tangshan Earthquake Relief Memorial Hall and the Wanda mall which has a supermarket at its basement. The staff had been helpful with resolving the internet access issue which I had encountered with my laptop. One staff came promptly upon my call, and when she couldn't resolve the second came shortly, and eventually the night duty manager Ms Carolyn came. She had patiently called the third party vendor speaking for 20min, and thankfully the issue was resolved for which I am grateful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Tangshan.
Rooms are great! Service was good as long as you could find an international student to help you translate. The foyer and halls are amazing with huge glass chandlers and polished floors. Food was better for breakfast than anything else - Massive variety! Million channels of rubbish TV ~ So we jumped in the luxury bath! Really really nice! View was ok as long as your on the right side of the building.
The room I stayed in was spacious, the beds were comfortable and the rain shower was amazing. There is a tub - which is a plus, however, the water runs a little slow, so it takes a bit of time to fill up. Another plus is the pillow menu, where u can choose your favorite kind of pillow for free. The cleanliness of the room does not live up to a five star hotel. There was a layer of dust on the counter. There is no menu available for in room dining, a staff brought up an iPad for me and my friend to order, menu was very limited. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Though I feel this hotel is more catered to local tourists.
5 Star luxury in Tangshan and not too expensive. The hotel is not far from Tangshan train station, ten minutes by bus or taxi. It has an amazing swimming pool and the service is very good. English is not widely spoken but you can easily communicate with the staff for most basic things. The bar is a good place to relax and the prices at the bar are not too bad.
I spent one night in this hotel during my business trip. I could say it keeps the required standard for Intercontinental like everywhere in the world. Rooms are spacious, very comfortable beds and pillows and what I love the most about Intercontinental: bathroom cosmetics with lemon grass scent. If I can have one "negative" remark that would be quite limited selection of european choice for breakfast. Good option for business stay.
The hotel was very nice and more than expected for a first time. Overall the hotel was very luxurious from the lobby area to the rooms. Our room was very spacious and nicely decorated and the bathroom was large and enjoyable. The hotel was in the city center which was great for sightseeing and shopping but the traffic was fairly congested due to being in the center. The breakfast buffet was enjoyable and they had a large selection of foods to choose from for everyone.
