Riad Zaitouna was the last of the three Riads we stayed in on this, our first visit to Morocco. Small and quaint, the hotel was very clean and in general comfortable for a one night stay. In particular the double bed was firm, and spacious, with good bed linen. Breakfast - taken on the roof - was good. The hotel is located on one of the main passages through the Medina, right next to a small shop, so inevitably it was noisy until quite late. On the other hand, its central location was very handy and only a few minutes walk from the car park. The shower was small and water pressure not great - but this was only a minor negative. Overall, pleased to have stayed here.
Great breakfast with good view at the roof top. Our room was facing the street, quite noisy at night. Staff was super friendly and attentive. We had two huge luggages , staff assisted to carry them from the parking square to the Riad which is located at the mid level of the hill. Good location. Highly recommended.
Good Riad in the middle of everything but prepare to climb stairs.. lots of them. Staff was so and so and at night reception is unattended. Breakfast I don’t know what it’s like because they start to serve at 8am and it was too late for us as we had to leave early. All in all good hotel but a tad expensive for what you get.
Best breakfast we had in Morroco. Gorgeous view from the roof deck. Some rooms are small but it is clean and the location cannot be beat. We had two rooms since we were traveling with our three children and we appreciated that they put us next to each other. They also provided nice organ oil shampoo and conditioner.
With a wide open terrace, we could view the Chefchaouen as a paint, which was gorgeous. The rooms were tidy and comfortable. The services were good, staff was willing to help in any detail requirements!
The riad is located in the center of the old Medina. The rooms are clean and beautiful and the staff are friendly 😊 The breakfast is delicious (try the local goat cheese!!!) but their are several things that you need to know: (1) there are a lot of stairs on the way to the riad, because it's located in the pedestrian area- call them in advance and they will take care of the luggage (2) There is no shade in the rooftop, where you eat breakfast...but the view is stunning. (3) It takes a lot of time to receive breakfast.. when you have a chill morning it's fine but when you set a time with them and want to go it's annoying (4) The water pressure in the shower for hot water isn't enough. (5) The street is super noisy and the mosque is near by... The riad has nothing to do with it, just important to know in advance if you're a light sleeper.. bring earplugs :) Overall I think it's a very good riad and recommend to stay there! Just needs some small improvements. Personally I would come back and stay here.
Why "yes" 1. Good location at the center of the Médina of Chefchaouen 2. A clean place with good rooms 3. Rooftop view is amazing Why "not" 1. Breakfast service is super slow- breakfast hour is 9 and you expect that the breakfast will be ready about that time. However, only at 9 they start to prepare the breakfast and the service is so slow and irritating, after they bring the hot bread and the juice they ask how you want the eggs and of course to prepare an omelette takes 15 min! They really ruined the good rooftop breakfast experience with a super slowly service 2. Wifi reception is very week at the upper room Overall, a good option for staying at chefchaouen
Centrally located in the maze of blue streets of Chefchaouen, this is a tiny, functional Riad. The rooms are small and clean, the breakfast adequate with a lovely view of the Spanish Mosque and city. We thought it was slightly overpriced for its bare functional standards ( for instance, when we arrived clean towels were not available as they were still running the dryer) Since Chefchaouen does not have a lot of things to do in the Medina itself expect for strolling the streets, , if we were to ever go there again, we probably would stay out of the Medina in a standard hotel chain.
This is our first visit to Chefchaouen...The hotel was very nice and very informative us for the city.... Because the original of the building was preserved in Chefchaouen. The room is wonderful and has a mountain view... Breakfast is very nice.... It is conveniently located In the city center.. Thanks to everyone, especially Nehal and Shaimaa. The Best staff...We will return
Mouhcine and his team are fantastic. They helped to carry our luggages from parking area up to the Riad and sent us off on last day of our stay. Attended to all our request including recommended good restaurants for us, making coffee and tea for us for afternoon snacks etc. Though small, the Riad is clean and adequate, equipped with all required amenities. Breakfast at terrace is surely a good experience. Location is great. Very near to all the nice photography spots, and it's opposite an old little bakery that bake nice Moroccan bread and pastries.
