Old hotel with smelly and stained carpets. Bedroom smelling of ciggerates despite being on a Non smoking room. Old furniture in the bedroom with broken chair. No towels in room and after reporting, it took 3 hours for towels to be delivered. Bathroom not clean either. Gym was terrible too. The entire hotel needs TLC. Front desk staffs were ok.
Used to stay here every time in Ipoh. My feeling of the hotel is that it's getting old. Room and furniture are old. Bathroom door could not close properly. There is no thermostat for the air conditioning in the room. Service seems to be... just average. Will we return here on our next trip? Most probably not.
This hotel used to be called Casuarina a long time ago. A very old hotel that has been refurbished. Overall it is a comfortable hotel to say in which is not too far away from the old city, in fact you can actually walk if you are up for it. The rooms are a bit worn, with room keys still using the old style of actual keys instead of a key card. The dinner was so-so but breakfast was quite good. The spread was wide and the bee hoon goreng was very delicious. All in all an okay hotel to stay in.
Good 1. I was looking for a connecting rooms in Ipoh and found this property. For a price of RM300++ for 2 single beds and 1 queen bed – it was reasonably OK. 2. The pool – well designed but would be great if the whole area is refurbished to make it livelier. Bad 1. Yes! All the previous reviews is true.
A huge dissapointment! Lobby looks quite nice but once you enter the room floors it's just a sad sad view. Everything is old and looks like it hasn't been touched since mid-70's. Old carpets and heavy smell of tobacco! Yes, it's allowed to smoke there. Our room was just bad. Ceilings covered with mold. Dust and sand on carpet. Bed sheets with stains - and towels, well as in the picture with stains and holes. Really really cheap, and you certainly get what you pay for. Stayed for one night and wish I didn't. Staff is very friendly and helpful though!
The Hotel is rundown, but under new Management and refurbishment is due to start in October 2017. The new Manager & staff very accommodating to our group of 37 NZ Veterans. Unfortunately they experienced power outages while we were visiting, so Management arranged a Nibbles & refreshments by the pool for us all. As this was a dry hotel, the management went out of their way to provide our vets with a few beers. They also have decided to open a bar in the future.
Only 1 good thing is that they have a baby pool separate from the adult pool which is RARE in ipoh. Other than that, the WHOLE hotel needs refurbishment as it's a dinosaur from the 80's maybe? Breakfast was included but I will highly recommend going out to eat😜 as ipoh has great food everywhere.
Rooms were dirty and rundown .Switches are falling apart . First time I stayed in a hotel which only provide one towel for a double room . No face towel !!! Shouldn't charge at the price ,the hotel rate itself 4 stars. Very dissapointed .
The hotel is old, as soon as you enter the lobby the decor is from the past. There is a distinct smell in the lobby and the room. The rooms are old and dark (insufficient lighting), the toilet was always wet, the hair dryer was not working. The bed was not firm, it was sunken in and there was this smell that lingered. The control of the Air Conditioning was only 2 or 3, no 1 was taped up, and there was no temperature control. The hotel just needs a major refurbishment.
Good size hotel even though its shows aged. Nevertheless room size is huge and good toilet amenities. Good soundproofing and the free breakfast is one of the best I have ever tasted. Staff is corteous and ample parking available. The location is right at ipoh cbd and not too far from the main highway heading either North or South. Thumbs up!
