This hotel is near everything, Rotemanni quarter, which is full of exellent restaurants and shops. Only a short walk to Viru shopping center! Rooms are very nice, comfortable bed and bathroom. Some rooms with sauna. Free wifi.
we were to arrive at Tallinn port from Helsinki around midnight, so we were looking for a spot that's easy to get to and also convenient for our walk to the old town the next two days, and we didn't want to pay huge prices. after some research and comparison among hotels between the port and the old town we picked the metropol hotel for our two nights in Tallinn. it worked for us just fine! the good: - easy walk from the port, 1km - easy walk to the old town, 800m to olaf church, 600m to viru gate - a short car ride to the airport - adequate facilities, nothing fancy, clean and functional - friendly and helpful staff - wifi works great - adequate breakfast the bad: can't think of anything
For the medium class hotel it was excellent. For sure, not luxury, but if you need to stay the night just to explore Tallinn, great choice. Quite big room with sauna (Junior suite), clean, quite and cozy - for three adults, we had two single beds and one sofa - it was really comfortable. Close to the old town, as well as harbour. Easy to park car - they have their own parking lot (not really big, but enough), if there is no space, you can park you car next to hotel in local parking lot (24h=8eur). Staff does speak good in english, no problems with communication. Breakfast was quite good, standard hotel breakfast (possibility to try different types of fishes).
While travelling through Scandinavia and the Baltics, the three of us, Mom, Dad, and 21-year-old daughter stayed overnight at the Hotell Metropol. Nothing luxurious, reasonably OK and relatively inexpensive.
Good location, close to the harbour, the old town and the city centre. Small amount of free customer parking. Hotel located in a fairly quiet area at least while we were there. Clean basic rooms of reasonable size. Certainly recommend for short stays.
We stayed as part of a City Break deal with British Airways. We had a room on the sixth floor which was very comfortable and clean Two downsides were the lack of tea and coffee making facilities and the heat in the room. There was no thermostat and the window would only open a couple of inches. Leaving the window open at night was not an option due to traffic noise. The breakfast was great, with a good selection and excellent porridge. However the restaurant did become crowded at times. Staff were helpful and friendly and overall we enjoyed our stay
Overall, the hotel is OK. The rooms are big and clean, the breakfast is rather basic though. Everything looks rather old and there are no indications of modernization. In the rooms there are very few electrical sockets. One has to be very carefull with the choice of the room: First I was given a room with a window facing an inner closed hall (in which the reception and bar is located). The quality of the air was really bad and there was no good ventilation system. Without any view and without fresh air, I really felt claustrophobic in this room. Luckily, it was possible to change my room to another floor with window (which could be opened) and nice view. So, my advice is to choose a room on the outside (with real window) and at a high floor (to be far enough from the reception and bar area). Internet was working fine.
A very basic hotel. The room was pretty good size. A very comfortable bed!!! There was no a/c so it was a little hot in the room. Actually nothing to complain. Just a 2 minute walk from the old town, and 10 mins (with pulling your suitcase) from the ferry terminal, an excellent spot! Oh, the breakfast was not very delicious, but got some bread and coffee to survive til lunch! A bit old fashioned, but nice staff and good for the price! If you need a place to sleep whilst exploring Tallinn, this is not a bad choice! If you look for kuxury, skip this. Overall, enjoyed my stay!
Outworn, no hot water in shower, cigarette smoke smell, parking is very limited, cheap environmet, high price - 69€ night single room. Never come back to this poor hotel. Lucky I stayed just 1 night...
A short visit to Tallinn in early May. Hotel just outside the old town. Clean and comfortable. Very quiet at nightime. No noise at all from other residents. Breakfast included in price. Lots of fresh fruit, bread, cheese, cold meats etc. Porridge also! First time I came across that on the Continent. Plenty of restaurants near by to choose from.
